Hi all! Will be back later just thought I'd check in on the new thread so I could find you all again.

Very cold here, Henry looks cute in his ridiculously large snowsuit. Still, at least we might get some use out it this weekend!

strawberrylace · 20/03/2008 18:07

hello alicet - wonder who will join us over here? can't believe we fill up threads so quickly!
we haven't been up to much really - just getting ready for the easter hols - have managed to organise eating out/at other people's houses for four days so i don't have to cook!

J2O · 20/03/2008 18:15

hi all, date went ok, but wont be seeing him again, he's not my type. right off to carry on nursing my hangover.

ChocolateHobnob · 20/03/2008 18:23

hi all

Has Adam had some pear and squash, then, Alice??

J20 - sorry he wasnt your type but did you have fun anyway? hope hangover improves.

Well, all is fine here. I think Rebecca slept a bit better last night - I think because honestly nights have become something of a blur for me! I've been to M and S so our weekend's catering comes courtesy of them, really. Tonight is Thai... Tomorrow DH is wanting fish and chips though as it's Good Friday.

The meetup sounds like it went well. Looking forward to the next York one!

Time to attend to the mini dictator!

FloriaTosca · 20/03/2008 18:57

Quick post to find you all...back later

MrsFish · 20/03/2008 19:01

Just a quickie so I know where you all are

I've been making cakes again today

UdontknowwhoIamnerner · 20/03/2008 19:31

Hey everyone, yes, I know, I still haven't changed my name back, off to change it now.

Mine · 20/03/2008 21:20

new thread...!! Whaaaheyyyy!

J20 - tell us all the details about the date!!! I love hearing about these!

Does anyone else feel as though Easter is not as big a 'holiday' as it was when you were working........
Very much looking forward to it but its not really a holiday iyswim....?

We've not been up to anything exciting.
DS has a cold and is very grumpy.
Good news is that he has been using his walker for the last 3 days and loves it.. think it may be helping him support his back better which may lead to him being able to sit up unaided......
Is my lo the only one that can;t yet do this...?? He's 21 weeks old.....

Having dh's cousin and husband over tomorrow night for sushi and ramen. yummyyyyy.

Very jealous about the Ledbury meet up. Glad it went well though, sounds like a lot of fun was had by all.

MrsFish · 20/03/2008 21:24

Ben is nowhere near being able to sit unaided yet and he is 24 weeks tomorrow, I wouldn't worry

alicet · 20/03/2008 21:48

Choc he hasn't had butternut squash or pear!!! Not sure really why I picked those 2... He has had apple, baby rice and a chunk of banana! Glad R sleeping better...

J2O sorry date didn't go so great but you sin some you lose some I guess!

Hello everyone else!

OP posts:
alicet · 20/03/2008 21:49

win some even not sin some!!!!

Adam can't sit either although he did roll over onto his front today for the first time!!!

And Sam has had 2 poos in the potty this week (although about 5 in the bath which he had only done once before.... )

OP posts:
muppetHOWDOYOUEATYOURSgirl · 20/03/2008 22:06

Did anyone else watch the Shannon Matthews program?

FloriaTosca · 20/03/2008 22:13

Alex loves food! He even tries to eat the spoon!!! In retrospect it seem obvious but I do wish someone had warned me about the difference in the content of his nappies. DH has taken 25 weeks to cope with inoffensive bf nappies and having just got back from 4 days in Italy hasn't a clue what they are like after carrots!...I've half a mind not to warn him

I might not get on here for a few days as we have invited Dhs family for dinner tomorrow, DH is taking me out on Saturday, I'm sharing my birthday with Easter for the first time on Sunday so will be at Mums and we have a tradition of fried egg and chips with all my family on Easter Monday....busy, busy long weekend!

Have a lovely Easter everyone!

ejt1764 · 20/03/2008 22:42

Hello ... just making sure I don't lose you all ...

I didn't stay up all night to do the hat (funny that ), but I did get it finished today and in the post this afternoon ... now it's up to the postal service to get it to the USA!

Have just been out to a stich 'n bitch group ... bizarre to have a social life again ...

Am now v. tired - off to bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Night all, and Happy Easter if I don't get on anytime soon!

Dalrymps · 20/03/2008 23:20

Floria - Happy Birthday for suunday, hope you have a lovely day
Mine - Dylan can't sit unaided either, he's 20 weeks old, think the aim is for them to be kind of sitting by 6 months so wouldn't worry. I've seen a few 6 month olds at baby groups who can sit but still topple to the sides.
Well i'm off to bed now, hi to everyone I haven't montioned. Night x

Apricott · 20/03/2008 23:30

Hiya

A new thread already - who would have thought it?!

Well, I had a lovely time meeting Alice, Ejt and Muppet - so good to meet you and your LOs in real life. Shame we don't all live closer, but let's do it again anyway . And thanks Alice, for being the catalyst.

I read the old thread earlier and have now forgotten what everyone was saying (again!)

One thing I do remember - sitting - Huw isn't sitting unaided. He was born 10/10. Don't keep track of the weeks anymore.

He had a suck on a banana today!!! Super-cute. His face a picture.

Anyone else ever been addicted to Spider Solitaire? - I've taken to playing it when feeding Huw and I just can't stop!

Night night all

A x

ChocolateHobnob · 21/03/2008 07:58

I've never heard of Spider Solitaire Apricott! I might have to investigate.

Spoke too soon yesterday, as managed no sleep at all last night. Sigh. Least DH is home today to help out...

happy Good Friday everyone!

muppetHOWDOYOUEATYOURSgirl · 21/03/2008 08:28

Morning all!

Ejt - Thanks for the offer of the jigsaws, I'll send my address by email. How much do you want for them or is there something I can buy Rhydian in exchange? Good luck on the hat adn I can't wait to meet up again so you can show me how to do rounds x

Appricot - lovely to hear Huw likes banana he was definately eyeing (sp?) up your fish the other day!

Well after bad tummy pains again yesterday my 1st af has arrived after having Henry (5 months monday) not sure how I stand with the IV something or other test on Tuesday as I will stil be on adn I can't ring to ask as it's a bank hoilday today and monday. Oh well, it really can't be helped I suppose. We were going to relax in the spa at the gym as I can't play tennis but that's out of the window now so I'm taking my cross stich sampler ( I need to get a move on with it as it has to be finished and framed before the 24th April -eek!)and Dh is going to read the papers. Ollie and H are in creche for 2 hrs. Tomorrow we are off to Gloucester to see 2 of my uni friends who I've not seen since Christmas so that should be great. Sunday is an interesting one, a friend has said she is going to Avebury (Like stonehenge and apparently older? I think my Achaeologist SIL said) where you take along your hard boiled egg, stand at the top of the hill and to the beat of the Druid's drum (oh yes I did say Druid, apparently he has a long beard and everything!) you then throw your egg down the hill. Sounds fab!Dh is said it's going to pee it down with rain on sun so we're going to see what it's like before going.
Monday is a 'sort-those-bloody-window-boxes-that-have-massive-weeds-in-them' day. We let the whole street down, we really do!

Take care, have a good Easter though will probably be on again as we're not travelling anywhere.
x

J2O · 21/03/2008 09:49

hi guys, well i had a lovely sleep last night and didn't get up till 7.30 with Shannon, bliss!

ok will give you the details but its going to need a bit of background....

right the bloke i met on Wed(chris), i had been talking to on facebook, only friendly at first, we where both in kind of the same situation..as in my male friend(Lee) who i met when i was a few months pregnant, i had been seeing him but he always said he didn't want a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship(you know the one who apparaantly got that girl pg on holiday, although he still hasn't heard from her since before christmas) anyway the past few months i have said to him that if we wasn't going to have a proper relationship with me then i was going to try and meet new people, and he said it wasn't very happy about it, but he couldn't give me what i wanted from him and he wanted me to be happy blah blah-so this bloke from facebook had the same thing with a girl that he liked, so we decided to tell them both to sod off and that we would meet, anyway, another bloke i met when i was very early pregnant(Neil), that i have talked to on and off had come to see me on the Sat night, and stayed for the first time, and i really like him but as i had already agred to go on this date, i thought sod it, i'll go and he can get his last train, which was at 9.30 and then i'll let him down gently...the date went ok apart from i was drunk within about half an hour, i rung Neil and told him i was on a date, but only because it had been arranged for ages and i wasn't intending to do anything, and he said that was fine, and he'd come and see me after Chris had got his train. anyway, somehow, he managed to miss his train, and there was no buses so i said he'd have to sleep on my couch, anyway to cut a long story short cos i'm babbling now and possibly confusing you all, he came back to my house and i did end up doing stuff with him and then kicked him out to get a train early in the morning, while feeling like sh*t because i knew that Neil probably wouldn't want to see me again if i told him. anyway, i did tell Neil yesterday, and he wasn't very impressed, but came to see me to talk and was really nice about it and stayed the night.( oh god, 2 men in 2 nights!)

so i really shouldn't have gone on the date when i liked Neil so much and definately shouldn't have got as drunk as i was but its done now, have i confused you all yet???
i'm still friends with Lee and will talk to Chris on facebook but i'm hoping that things go ok with Neil and so don't think i should be doing any more dates for a while!

i think i'm going to my step dads caravan tonight and possinly tommorrow night so wont be online for a couple of days, right i'm off to read the rest of the thread properly!!

Mine · 21/03/2008 15:01

J20 - wow that all sounds quite complicated, but glad you seem to have it sorted......'ish!

ok the last 3 hours or so have been hell.... Eren has a cold and just seems to want to cry all the time.

Gave him calpol but seems to have taken ages to kick in.
He just dropped off to sleep...... bet he gets up in 20mins

I'm pooped. Just want to curl up under my duvet and forget about everything.
Really finding it hard now with mum gone and dh doing long shifts.
I'm sure it'll all be fine, but i'm just so tired....
Wish i could cancel our sushi night but feel bad. I've almost made everything now too so its all too late. Just need to persevere.

AnyasMum07 · 21/03/2008 15:36

Anya's sat on dh's shoulder trying to climb over the back of the sofa!... Can't wait until she's properly on the move. She's still rolling both ways but she still cries on her tummy - it's not because she was stranded, it's because she doesn't know how to crawl anywhere yet .

Liking the thread title Alice!

J2O - blimey! I'm not sure I could have such a complicated love life even without a baby! Neil sounds like a nice bloke - hope things work out with him .

Anya's not sitting unsupported yet - glad she's still not too far behind everyone else . I've got tables on the extra pages in her red book that have details of the delays on motor skills - sitting unsupported is down for an average baby as being at 5.5 months - sounds a bit early given the straw poll on here. For babies with achondroplasia it's between 9 and 20 months (25th and 90th percentiles) - think Anya's going to be on the early side of that!

Alice - big well done to Adam at rolling front to back! And well done to Sam at pooing in the potty!

FT - happy birthday for Sunday.

Muppet - agree, throwing hard-boiled eggs down a hill in the rain while a bloke with a beard bangs a drum is an interesting way to spend a Sunday.

Mine - sorry you're having such a bad day - it's awful when they've got a cold. I'm sure you'll enjoy your sushi night and it'll make you feel better.

muppetHOWDOYOUEATYOURSgirl · 21/03/2008 16:21

Well done Same for pooing in your potty you're a big boy now!

I just gave Henry carrot for lunch -I'd forgotten how messy carrot is I think we'll all have patches of orange on our clothes for quite a while yet!

J20 - Your love life sounds fun! I hope things work out well with Neil x

Mine - Sorry to hear of Eren's cold, it is a nightmare when lo's are ill. about dh's long shifts. I would let routines go and go with Eren, if he wants to sleep then let him sleep and if it looks like he's down for a while try to catch a few ZZZZzzzz's yourself. Try not to worry about the house, just get through the next couple of days x

alicet · 21/03/2008 19:07

Happy birthday on Sunday Floria!

J2O OMG you do like to make it complicated don't you?! Hope you manage to make things work with Neil...

Muppet enjoy your interesting Sunday!

Choc so sorry sleep is sounding so shite. Thinking of you and looking forward to seeing you on Tues again...

Ejt well done on finishing the hat!

Mine sorry to hear Eren is suffering with a cold - try a few drops of cooled boiled water up his nose before feeding - works wonders for us! They can't suck properly with a cold and Adam was more unhappy because he couldn't eat what he needed.

Um.... Can't remember the rest but hello all! Hope life is good for you all...

And Adam rolled front to back today! Clever boy... Both boys a little unsettled as we ahd a family party today for my Mum's 60th - as she has 4 brothers it was a bit manic to say the least!! Fun though. Tired today myself - have been going to bed a lot later since being down at Mum and Dad's so it's mounting up. Never mind eh!! Might be in bed a little earlier tonight....

MrsFish · 21/03/2008 20:42

I keep looking at my watch and wondering whether its late enough to go to bed yet

Might go after Coronation St and read my book for a bit. I've been up since 6am with the boys and I'm knackered

alicet · 21/03/2008 20:48

This is a pretty normal bedtime for me when I am at home!!! Do tend to read for a bit before sleeping but sleep by 9.30 certainly not unusual...
