Well thought I should start a new thread in time to link it on the old one!!!

hi all!

Floria, I never go to bed after 9 30 these days! Mind you, even then I don't get as much sleep as I got in the student days of bed in the small hours...

Alicet, hope you're having fun! We're looking forward to hearing about the holiday and the party, and seeing Adam eat and roll!!!

J20, your love life sounds like the perfect discussion for a night out with a few drinks. It occurred to me it's a shame we don't live near each other and could have a proper night out (says the woman who hasnt been out after 7 pm since Rebecca was 6 weeks old, at which time we didn't really have a routine...). Seriously, it sounds like you know what you want so I hope it goes well. Neil sounds like a nice guy.

Anyasmum, Anya's doing brilliantly! It must be great to see her exceeding her milestones.

Has anyone heard from Polarmummy? I wonder how she and Zoe are. Oh and Greedyguzzler with her gorgeous trio of kidlets. And Ellensmelons - dyou reckon she's pregnant again?! Someone on the Nov 07 postnatal thread is pregnant again, due Nov 08. Shocker!

Sleep was again crap last night - little minx that she is. I am so tired again, but it is easier when there are two of you to play entertainer to the little one. Not sure what the plans are today - prob coffee and cake in Borders (Starbucks).

Have a good day, everyone!

alicet · 22/03/2008 08:51

Choc you're never going to Borders?!! For the rest of you this is where she spends a large amount of her time when she is not marching Rebecca round tesco and M&S foodstore trying in vain to get her to sleep . Hope you have a lovely weekend honey and that R's lack of sleep doesn't put too much of a dampner on it...

Regarding the night out York would be doable with trains for you and I to meet others for drinks if it was workable for others? Since most have to drive I guess not but it's a thought!

Just have to point out that Alicet is the person who keeps Caffe Nero afloat singlehandedly....

oh and DH isnt going for the Starbucks idea...

strawberrylace · 22/03/2008 12:25

Hello!
hope you are all having nice weekends. it's nice having a couple of extra days with DH, but i'm hating this cold wet weather. why can't we have the easter break when its warm and sunny so we can do things outside??
went to some friends for a meal last night - they are off to Egypt on Monday where its 41 degrees . Tonight we are going to some other friends for pizza - they are expecting their second boy - was due on weds, so i guess they may cancel on us!
Apart from that we are pretty much staying inside and watching bad tv!
Floria - hope you have a great birthday...

alicet · 22/03/2008 13:39

Yes fair enough Choc!!!

Strawberry hope you have fun tonight assuming they don't cancel! Dh and I are taking advantage of the last night at mum and dad's to go out for a meal. Suspect we will be back relatively early though as both still pretty tired!

Hi all ...

No real news, just checking in - and at Choc and alice trading coffee-shop insults!

I've finally got my voice back properly - thank goodness - but now ds has a really bad cold and he sounds like a cross between Darth Vader and Lassie ... am going to start a thread asking if there is any such thing as a cough cyrup that works!

DH is now off for the week - and he's snoozing on the sofa ... Mairwen is asleep in the pram, and I've just been to collect a FreeCycle lawnmower ... and a Jack in the Box for Sunday School tomorrow ... oh, isn't life exciting!

DH bought me this bra - and knickers to match for my birthday - and the replacement bra (the one he bought me too big) has arrived - it's the first nice underwear I've had in over a year ... I keep flashing a bit of red lace at dh ... wonder if there's any films on for Rhydian this afternoon?

Have a lovely Easter everybody, and I concur that Neil sounds like a good bloke, J20 ... oh, and as for the thought of being pg again ... [shudder]!

J2O · 22/03/2008 14:13

hi guys, lol, yes it has been a bit complicate, thats why i haven't mentioned much of my love life, cos you'd all end up getting confused, like me!

well, i've just come back from the caravan in Filey, it was awful, it was freezing and there wasn't enough duvets to go round, it was so windy the caravan felt like it was moving, needless to say we came home as soon as possible rather than stay another night, plus my step dad was smoking in the caravan when Shannon was there even though i kept having a go at him, he reckoned it was ventilated enough to be ok, if i'd stayed much longer i think i may have ventilated him right in the head, to55or! no wonder i left home at 16.

i think a York night time meet up sounds great, not sure what trains would be available to me, don't think they're that great from Hull, judging by the last one to Leeds being 9.30 but how about booking a travelodge, they're doing £19 rooms and there must be one near by, thats depending if lo's can be left overnight with ohs/dhs/dps..etc of course, i'd probably be able to arrange it, not sure about the rest of you...? of course we could leave it till there a bit older, i think we should def wait till its warmer anyway!

J2O · 22/03/2008 14:23

sorry, i meant to add-ejt, that is very pretty, hope its multi functional

alicet · 22/03/2008 14:32

J2O great idea about the travel lodge - would probably be able to sort this esp if I get dh in a good mood... He is off for a couple of weekends away so should be my turn!

Ejt lovely bra - did you manage to occupy Rhydian while you slipped off with dh then ?

OP posts:
ChocolateHobnob · 22/03/2008 14:36

Mmm that is lovely Ejt and has inspired me! I might order myself the rose baby doll Hot milk stuff.. (cherry red would show too much under my clothes!!!)

Sadly, since lo is currently bottle refusing again, and since her sleep is absolutely abysmal (she didnt manage a full 45 minute sleep stretch even, last night) I dont think I can leave her for now. Maybe once she's on solids...?!

It's snowing!!!

ejt1764 · 22/03/2008 15:00

Choc - am for you about your lack of sleep : have you tried cranial osteopathy? My yoga teacher had real problems with her ds, and the co sorted it out ...

And no, I haven't managed to slip away for a scooby snack ... Rhydian requested that I take photos of all the Star Wars lego things he and dh have built together ... I may put a photo on profile - even though I'm not a star wars fan, they've done really well!

And, I'm about to go to boots to get something for R's cough ...

maybe later ...

MrsFish · 22/03/2008 20:53

I'd be up for a night out in York and a stay over at the Travelodge

alicet · 22/03/2008 22:15

MrsFish think J2O would probably drink us under the table though . When do you ladies fancy this and will start working on dh . Sure he will be cool with it and MrsFish you're def owed one aren't you?

OP posts:
muppetHOWDOYOUEATYOURSgirl · 22/03/2008 22:18

Just a quickie, have read posts and I could combine a visit to the IL's (Manchester) with a night out in York...(I think)

see you tomorrow
x

MrsFish · 23/03/2008 11:10

After last year too I am definitely owed more than one

And yes she would drink me under the table, I had two glasses of wine last night and felt drunk and got a headache, I'm such a lightweight nowadays

TheLadyEvenstar · 23/03/2008 11:49

Hi All

Zachary is now 6 months old sitting up alone, eating like a trooper, stealing digestive biscuits if they are within his reach, rolling around the floor, shuffling on his belly lmao!!! he is in 9-12 month clothes and they give him a bit of growing room. he has been standing alone for a few weeks now, well while holding onto furniture. he love bananas, cake, custard, roast pork, chicken and beef. he says mum mum mum now and am not sure if it is nana or nanna he is saying, but it def one of them!!!!! he is in desperate need of shoes as his size 2's are too small now. Have not had him weighed as getting an appt with my dr is nigh on impossible. he also loves chips and sucking the inside out. errrr loads more to tell y'all but dinner needs cooking!!!!

AnyasMum07 · 23/03/2008 15:49

Next door neighbours have bought Easter bunnies. I've lmao watching their daughter spend this morning running round the garden trying to catch them! Won't be so funny when they've burrowed into our garden but might amuse Anya .

Anya's been rolling around like a very roly thing today and is now having a very long nap. She's actually got the concept of rolling onto her tummy, grabbing a toy, then taking it with her as she rolls back onto her back. Mummy's very proud . I'm ignoring the fact that she doesn't actually want to fetch a toy, she really wants to be crawling round the room.

Choc - sleep's not getting any better is it? Poor you. Enjoy your coffee and cake. (Mmmmm cake....)

Strawberry - console yourself with the thought that 41 degrees is far too hot, you'd only be really sweaty and uncomfortable. Much better in the snow . Hope you had a good night last night.

ejt - at Darth Vader/Lassie. I compared Anya to Darth Vader last week (her cold's just about cleared up now at last!) but not sure she was close to Lassie! (Nice underwear!)

Not sure whether dh will be happy about me staying over in York, given that lo went into meltdown for 24 hours last time I was away over night. Would have to wait until she's a bit less sensitive I think.

Hi LES, nice to see you back. Will read post in a minute, lo is calling for food....

AnyasMum07 · 23/03/2008 16:02

Blimey LES, Zachary's doing brilliantly! Well done him! Do let us know what you've been up to.

TheLadyEvenstar · 23/03/2008 16:42

Just added 3 new pics of Zachary, the top 3 were taken over last 3 days

muppetHOWDOYOUEATYOURSgirl · 23/03/2008 20:00

...I have eaten my own bodyweight in chocolate today....

tLES - Zachary looks so cute

alicet · 24/03/2008 13:52

Great news that you might be able to make York evening meetup muppet! How about you let us know when you are next planning a visit to the dreaded mil and we will swoop down to rescue you!

Well we had a great trip back from Mum and dad's yesterday - got to scotch corner without stopping which is unheard of with 2 boys in the car! Luckily they both slept well and there was hardly any traffic.

Got home to a FREEZING house (only about 8 degrees) as the heating is knackered - man coming tomorrow to fix it and after 3 electric fires blasting out virtually non stop its almost warm now! Dread to think what our electric bill will be but ignoringit for now! Our new bathroom isn't quite finished but what they have done so far is pretty good. A few bits that have been finished off less than great which they will sort for us and the decorating still to do but I think it will be fab. Couldn't be worse than the revolting ancient avocado one with a cracked unuseable bath we had in before! And not too much mess either - a bit dusty but we have cleaned up the worse although more dust and bits of plaster keeps appearing!

Dh now at gym, both boys asleep, and I am chilling on the computer. Choc you will be pleased to know we have already got a nero trip in this am and pizza express is getting our custom tonight - going to meet some friends there who have a little girl Sam's age.

So might see you later xxx

OP posts:
muppetHOWDOYOUEATYOURSgirl · 24/03/2008 14:39

Alice, glad the trip down was a good one -phew! Sorry to hear about your heating still not working especially now the weather has turned for the worse...
I'll see when we can all troop up. Dh was a little worried about me going as last time I did anything like this it was my best friends hen night and I had a huge panic attack and spent 2 hrs in the loo throwing up (I'm not painting a good view of me being away am I? and dh had to come and get me!!) I am fine now though and are definitely up for it, he just wants to wrap me in cotton wool I think.

Well, we had the Easter hunt this morning and we had 12 kids and their parents so that was a good turnout. They were all great and the funniest vision I have is of dh running down the road with the 8 kids who could run, running after him as he forgot he had to take the box of goodies in the field for the last clue. The kids beat him there!! Oh well, it was nice to see everyone and we all talked about having our street bar-be-que that we used to have before our friend died.
Back to a neighbours for coffee and now I am at home with H in bed asleep and dh and Ollie have gone to sainsbury's to do a shop.

On sat we went here on sat for the day -my b/f's parents house -where I met up with a uni friend of mine, as well as b/f, and the uni friend has a lo of 8 months and she's 6 weeks prgt again!!! I suggested a walk down to the canal so the three of us set off in the sunshine, walked along the canal and then noticed the big black cloud in front of us. This turned into a sleet and wind shower which saw us get covered in snow! I had to cover H's face with a blanket as I had forgotten the rain shield and hold onto my friend?s buggy as it was being blown by the wind and we were worried being next to the canal. They're selling the house which is a shame as it's like going on holiday as they have 2 horses, chickens and there's always loads of people there. (10 for dinner with 4 children on sat!)

I've just had MIL on the phone and we've a room booked in the hotel for th 50th birthday party and she's said again that she's told her sister that Oliver is staying with them...I said no that he would be staying with us as we would be in a different country with a different language but she is still pushing saying that he would be fine as his aunty's are there with him. I want him with me. End of. (I sound like my brother there )

I can see rough times ahead with MIL. We are due for another barny as it has been 6 months and she does get a little bored

alicet · 24/03/2008 14:45

Muppet I would def just put my foot down on Ollie staying with you! Sounds like just another way she thinks she is going to control you. She is not. End of!!! What does dh say?

Easter egg hunt sounds good though!

Dh just got home and agrees with me. Ollie stays with us. I've never met these people!!
