RiaisMaLarkin · 31/03/2008 21:28

baggins seems to be improving sleep-wise too, AND DS2 slept un his OWN bed ALONE all night last night!!!!!

good luck to dkma in Luton and for bumper on your first day back.

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/03/2008 21:43

Just popping in quickly to say Good Luck Bumper if you are still around

DS is still not great - very sore bum. I've escaped to my parents' for a couple of days for a bit of help. Apparently chicken pox is going around our area as well so I'm wondering whether that might be what's up with DD, as she;s definitely not her usual jolly/exuberant self. Much as I'd like the DCs to get it out of the way, now is not a good time

Sorry for whinging, hope everyone else is ok

RiaisMaLarkin · 31/03/2008 22:01

poor you fairy. I have to say DS3s pox have been mercifully mild, so I am almost glad it's done and over, but poor DS2 still isn't quite himself, even though nearly all his spots have gone, apart from the ones in his hair.

Hope you get a bit of a break with your parents, I couldn't manage without mine (even though lately I have been going by myself after the DCs are in bed when DH is watching crappy telly!)

Izzybel · 31/03/2008 22:09

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well
Happy belated Birthdays to FairyFay and Bumper! Hope you both had good days!
Norty, hope you get DD's chest x-ray results soon and I hope that she's ok .
Fairy, hope both DCs get better soon and DD isn't getting the chicken pox.

Not really got anything interesting to say. Went out with DP's sister on Saturday night as it her 19th birthday today! She was going out for a meal, in town, with her college friends and asked me to go. I agreed thinking that I would feel like the weirdo in the corner (I forgot that all her college friends would be 16, 17 and 18!) But all her friends were lovely and didn't actually seem that young! They thought that I was one of her other college friends . It turned out to be a really nice night. The food was good and we got 4 free bottles of wine, which is always a bonus!

Went to M and B group today. A lot of the babies are ones that have been going to the group as long as we have, and it's amazing that they are all so mobile all of a sudden ! One minute DD is right in front of me, the next she is across the room trying to steal some other child's dummy/ toy/ snack etc!

RiaisMaLarkin · 31/03/2008 22:29

hi izzy. baggins loves to steal DS2s dummy (yes I know he shouldn't still have it, I'm working on it

Glad you had a nice night out. On my 19th birthday I went to a new depression support group in my area
(forced to go bt CPN) and was waiting for DS1 to be born. It's so long ago ... (and the bloody support group didn't do any good, I'm still sat here feeling crap now)

RiaisMaLarkin · 31/03/2008 23:18

I made WW zero points soup today, I gave baggins some for tea, He has wind! (does anyone else's LO play a tune with their bottom burps?)

Nite all.

And another good luck to bumper. x.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/04/2008 07:03

Morning all.

Just read through last night's musings, but am still half asleep so don't seem to have absorbed much, sorry. I did pick up that this is Bumper's 1st day back to work - Go Bumper Go, hope all is fab for you! And someone's LO is sleeping less well. Um, sorry but things are getting better here, I think we had a complete sleep through last night. I certainly don't recall hearing her.

Was very sorry fpr myself last night. Went for a power walk in my lunch break yesterday and gave myself a massive blood blister on the sole of my foot. Limped round the office for the afternoon and round the house last night. Real shame is that it was the 1st day of my training schedule leading up to the sun walk (half marathon) in Bristol in July. But now got to wait while foot heals before I can continue

RiaisMaLarkin · 01/04/2008 08:54

jammy.

I had another massive black gloom/drained energy afternoon so didn't do my extra walk and ate a load of rubbish yesterday afternoon. I have to weigh-in today too

So, got up this morning after a dreadful night (the sleep improvements here were obviously a one-off) to DS1 spewing bright green slime, in DS2s bedroom and right in front of the bathroom door. Oh the joys of parenting. He isn't going to art day now I am assuming it's just the migraine/taking medicine.

andiem · 01/04/2008 10:02

ria what an awful start to the day hope ds1 andd you feel better soon

jammy your poor foot hope it is better soon

go bumper go

fairy sorry the dcs aren't well it is very draining

sleep in this house has got worse not better so am hoping for improvements soon ds1 was sleeping through from 6 months so am struggling a bit with ds2 wish he would sleep through have resolved to leave it another few weeks and then get tough

HellHathNoFury · 01/04/2008 11:09

Hope your first day is going ok Bumper - and happy belated birthday x

RiaisMaLarkin · 01/04/2008 17:04

DS perked up enough to go to art this afternoon so I've been out shopping with my sis. (We hit the charity shops!)

I bought a lovely bag. And some bordering for DS2/3s room for £1.20 for 2 and a bit rolls, so I will be able to get away with a bit of a clean and sticking that on, instead of painting the whole room orange like he wants me to and we can leave the overhaul until they get their bunk beds when they are bigger.

Hi fury, hows the thigh trainer going?

Hey bumper, how did it go?

andiem · 01/04/2008 18:37

hi Ria glad ds1 is feeling better and you had a good afternoon

Bumperlicious · 01/04/2008 19:50

Hi all today was fine, well great actually! I was worried about getting out of the house and feeding this morning, but was really organised last night and made my lunch etc. before hand.

It was actually nice being back at work and being the centre of attention in a new team or with people I haven't seen for ages, that won't last long though! Oh and my boss forgot to tell the IT department that I was back so no IT, so basically no work! Just catching up with people and getting to know my new team. I hesitate to say this but I actually enjoyed myself! Am knackered though, and my eyes hurt from the air conditioning.

Evidently DD and DH were fine today. DD didn't drink much milk, I left 2 7oz bottles and she left about 5oz. Expressing at work was ok. I managed to get a let down both times and go about 6oz. She was fine when I got back, I just hope she sleeps though tonight as she was up for an hour in the middle of the night last night (though DH got up with her).

Anyway I started this post about an hour ago and only just posting it now so apologies if I missed anything important.

RiaisMaLarkin · 01/04/2008 19:53

Hi Bumper. Glad it went well.

Bumperlicious · 01/04/2008 19:56

Thanks you, I'm going to disappear and spend some time with DH so catch up with you guys soon.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/04/2008 20:00

Glad it went well Bumper. Bet you soon feel like you've never been away!

We've got our annual performance review starting now. Only neither me nor my boss have a record of the objectives I was set at last year's review . So I have to make some up and say whether or not I achieved them. Not sure if I can put down having a baby as an objective though, and that is about all I've done in the past year (along with umpteen nappy changes, feeds etc)

TALLULAHBELLE · 01/04/2008 20:28

Glad your day went well Bumper.
Those are my sort of objectives, Jammy, like writing a to do list of stuff you've already done!

Sputnik · 01/04/2008 20:32

Glad you had a good 1st day back Bumper
Did you show your DH how to log onto Mumsnet before you left?

RiaisMaLarkin · 01/04/2008 20:48

DH has gone to the pub and I'm starving!

baggins won't go to sleep either, DS2 gone to bed on mega meltdown again. Hope I can find something to watch on SKy (it's not often I get control of the remote

foxythesnowman · 02/04/2008 10:00

Morning!

BUMPER - Happy Birthday! Sorry I missed it, but belated birthday wishes. Glad work went OK too!

Ummm, forgotted the rest

Not been around much, but I have a thoroughly clean house and parented children

Off to tackle the conservatory and find some food - friends for lunch.

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 11:30

Lucky you on the clean house foxy.

Tis a lovely day, we are meant to be going to the beach - can I get away with bakery items and chips for the DCs lunch? (though DH is in bed with baggins just now)

Off to hang out some laundry - the basket overflow is almost gone, just the stuff in it now.

Have a good day

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 13:21

Miserably grey here, and drizzly Am of Ria's lovely day and trip to the beach.

But I mustn't grumble as I had another full night's sleep last night that's 2 in a row

OK, off to check the jamlet is OK, and then I've got some cleaning to do.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 16:32

Another quiet day here I see. I guess RL is catching up with us all?

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:13

RL not catching up with me, it is passing me by, but I don't want to be the only one posting

Walk was a disaster - tide in. Had chips and the kids and donuts and icecream, we played with 2ps in the arcade.

I am having one of those "drained" days again, it is really annoying.

Izzybel · 02/04/2008 17:26

Hello!
Know what you mean about "drained" days Ria I seem to be having loads of them recently. Shame the tide was in when you went to the beach, although donuts and ice cream for the kids sounds good!
DP is off today so we went and bought some wallpaper for the front room, then went to supermarket to buy sugar. Forgot sugar, doh! came home and that's it.

Glad your first day at work went well, Bumper!
