Sorry about your walk Ria, and sorry you're feeling drained.

Am exhausted here myself, though not sure why. Jamlet just had sausage and mash for the 1st time for tea. She seemed to love it There was a 4 month old baby at our group this morning, and it was so hard to remember her being that small, even though it was only a few months ago. Now she's rolling all over the place, eating proper dinners, generally being a "big girl". Still my little baby though

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:28

Hi Izzy I do that sort of thing at the supermarket too

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:32

What sort of doughnuts were they? When we went to the seaside as kids we watched them being made - the dough would be plopped out of a machine into hot fat and the doughnut would be dragged along through the fat, flipped over now and then, and when it got to the end it would fall into a tray of sugar. We loved watching them cook, my big sister used to lift me up to watch. I am really looking forward to taking the Jamlet there - was pleased to see that the machine is still there when we went there last summer, though the price has gone up a little in the past ahem years.

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:33

I am going to be a bad mummy and make the DCs sandwiches for tea. They had sausage rolls from the bakery for lunch (hot) and shared chips (also hot) Fruit for supper!

I might make up for it in the morning and do eggs for breakfast.

This is a "shouting ARSE in the street day". I hate feeling like this, other than having a rougher night than normal there is no reason for it. Grrr. I should beggar off and post on a suitable thread really!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:35

Don't go Ria! You can shout ARSE here all you like, we don't mind.

I'll join in if it makes you feel better?
ARSE, ARSE, ARSE!!!!

Izzybel · 02/04/2008 17:35

I love those doughnuts! They just melt in your mouth. I'm trying to be good today as I have eaten far too much junk recently!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:36

And the odd day of sausage rolls, chips, and butties for tea won't hurt, surely?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:37

Me too Izzy

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:38

Those were the ones jammy. The prices have gone up A LOT!!! I'm sure it used to be 10 for £1.00 when I was little. we had 3 for £1.30 because I was too mean to buy more. The seaside is not a cheap option.

We watched a group of local teenage girls messing about, jumping off the sea-wall into the sea, throwing their trainers in, pretending to be drunk, swearing and smoking a lot. Just like the groups of "popular" girls did when I was at school. It was quite sad really. It is a universal seaside town thing or is it just here? The local saying is there are no prostitutes in seaside town, they give it away

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:40

LOL. ARSE!!!

Sandwiches then - white bread, no salad.

Izzybel · 02/04/2008 17:41

Ria, I agree with Jammy! Sandwiches for tea is fine. Shout away! With all the shouting I do it's no wonder next door have put their house on the market .

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:43

Ok girls, your style challenge is to help find me something to wear to a right swanky restaurant next Thursday. Bear in mind I'm no skinny minny (prob about a 24 ). I have a long, black, velvety skirt with a split up one side, or a rose pink devore skirt that I could wear, but have no idea what to put on the top half Can anyone offer inspiration?

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:54

I would go with black (mainly cos I don't know what devore is) with probably a tightish black top then a big floaty overshirt in either black or something particularly cringe-worthy that I think is lovely. I am approx a 24 so I go with either trying to be invisible or standing out in the croud, depending on where/who, or how bolshy I'm feeling

Do you have possibilities in your wardrobe, or do you need one of the shopping experts?!

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:55

croud? CROWD. Silly mare!

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:55

must bath baggins. He stinks.

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 17:57

this is nice, but a bit (lot) expensive for me!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 17:58

I think I need to buy a new top. Or a whole new outfit, but thought a new top might be more economical.

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 18:00

HOLLY!!! SPUTNIK!!!

SHOPPING OPPORTUNITY!!!!

bathtime...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 18:04

LOL

Izzybel · 02/04/2008 18:14

That top that Ria suggested is nice, but it would prob have to be with trousers though and not a skirt.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/04/2008 18:26

I agree that top would work better with trousers. Am considering buying a pair of smart trousers (all I have are quite casual). i did like that top, but is more flamboyant than my usual look. Would have to be feeling quite brave. but maybe it is time for a change?

RiaisMaLarkin · 02/04/2008 18:35

I agree, trousers. Trousers probably best all round actually. Then you can have sandals for summer and boots for winter.

I like floaty sleeves, but they dangle in your dinner!

I hope I meant Sputnik for shopping - no offence meant. Or is it Derlor?

HellHathNoFury · 02/04/2008 19:16

Jammy
this would go with a skirt if you paired it with a chunky belt over the top.

Not sure about the apple colour personally but they have others!

TALLULAHBELLE · 02/04/2008 19:27

Evening. Nice top, Ria/Jammy. T'would look very smart with black trousers. Please enlighten -devore? WTF?

Bumperlicious · 02/04/2008 19:40

Evening all

Jammy here, here or here?

Well, today didn't start so well. DD was up for an hour last night at about 3am. Then this morning she knocked over my cup of tea onto her hands, so I shoved them under the cold tap which she wasn't that impressed about. So not a great start to the day, I'm knackered. Got to go anyway, some friends are here. catch up soon!
