he's a little better, poo is getting a little more solid all the time. If there is no big improvement by this afternoon I will get him back to the GP.

Yes a lot of nappies - I had to go do an emergency shop last night as we got through 2 packets of wipes as well.

Times like this I am glad I am using nasty disposable nappies, can you imagine the laundry!!

He's quite happy, he's shouting and laughing despite the illness and is even getting quite confident at standing on his own (and walking if he has a hand to hold).

Anyone seen MHC lately?

foxythesnowman · 12/03/2008 11:04

Fingers crossed for DS Fury. Funny how we miss their giggles when they aren't right.

DS1 is off school sick today.

Proud mummy moment: DD2 is dressed.

Hi Annobal!

I saw MHC on another thread a while ago, but no, not lately.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 11:11

34 fury...bloody hell; poor DS and poor you!

mhc was having pooter issues I think. I was just thinking about her yesterday; I need to pick her brains on Bongo Fendees!

I'm a bit better this morning. No more bottom explosions for me thankfully, and i've had a bowl of rice crispies and they have stayed put (that is way TMI )

thanks for the link DKMA. I think wee James' story touched all of us last year. He was such a beautiful wee boy. I'll pass the link on to everyone I know.

DH off out today so I can reclaim the pooter. DD is sleeping so I have some me time as well. I should be doing housework, but housework schmousework is what I say

Jammy...all hail Chairperson of Sewers (actually it sounds like a shitty job...boom boom ) I hope the back pay cancels out some of what you have to pay back to your employer. I can't believe they even made that cock up in the first place.

computer ladies; how do I register a web address/domain name?

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 12/03/2008 11:26

Daisy contact 1and1 Here we use them and have for years, very reasonably priced, good support as well.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 11:35

cheers fury. Can I just register the domain name now and then think about the web hosting later?

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 12/03/2008 11:42

Daisy, for you and your slovenly ways

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 11:47

lol foxy, I am a paragon of virtue by comparison ...although there is some cat sick lurking under the kitchen table that I can't bring myself to clean up.

Feeling sick just reading that tread though

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 12/03/2008 11:49

Having a weird moment. I just caught a wiff of really strong stale cigarette smoke.

There is absolutely no reason for it.

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 12/03/2008 11:50

Just popping in before off to peer supporter training. (I can finish it even though won't be able to make the group when I go back to work now).

Foxy, today is cancelled due to the wind apparently. Shame you couldn't come with him! When are you next in Brizzel?!

I saw MHC on a post a couple of days ago I think. We shall have to stalk her!

DD has started doing peek a boo herself with a towel. I was really impressed at first. gets boring pretty quickly though

HellHathNoFury · 12/03/2008 11:51

Daisy yes you can register a domain now, you needn't do anything with it for ages. Depending on the extension (ie, .co.uk, .net, .com, .info etc) it will cost between £free and £10 pa.

I think .co.uk is more expensive at £9 or £10 pa.

We host sites at home so can help if you need any advice etc.
Also depending on what the site was for, you may want to get it hosted by a specialist company.

But securing the domain with 1and1 is the best place to start.

foxythesnowman · 12/03/2008 11:51

Next weekend actually! Over Easter. Shopping on Saturday?

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 11:52

weird smells can often be a precursor to a migraine foxy....or a haunting

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 11:54

It's for my nappy business . It is going to happen . DH is funding me with some money frm the sale of his batchelor pad .

you can tell I'm a bit excited about it can't you . I have a name and everything.

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 12/03/2008 11:54

I used to quite often get a wiff of cigarettes under our stairs or in the kitchen. But not stale like this. Am sniffing the vent in the wall but it doesn't smell.

HellHathNoFury · 12/03/2008 12:00

That's great news

I am not sure who would be the best company to host the site as you would probably benefit from a few extra services like secure authentication etc for sales.

1and1 are very good however, but worth shopping around.

Alternatively you may be able to find a compnay that specialise in online sales templates, you just customise them to suit your business. You pay a bit more for that kind of service but it removes the hassle of setting up a website.

For example, clikpic host photography websites using their own templates. You may be able to find something similar for online sales.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 12:03

it's a whole new (and very baffling) world out there. Once I've registered the domain name, is it mine to do with as I please?...before I sign up to 1and1

and if i call myself .co.uk, how do i stop someone using the same name, but .net or .org or somesuch?

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 12:04

there is mumzmall....for WAHM businesses. Flame uses them for her nappy site I believe.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 12/03/2008 12:16

you can only stop other people using .net etc if you buy all of them, sadly, otherwise anyone can have a business with the same name as yours.

Once you have it (which is a process taking all of 10 minutes) you can do with it what you like, unless it's a .org which has some retrictions I believe.

HellHathNoFury · 12/03/2008 12:19

ok mumzmall is hosted by purple promo who sell an e-commerce package - have a look here.
Under 'basic' you get the jist of what they offer you.

Make sure they (or whoever you choose) can link up sales to Paypal as well.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 12:19

cheers fury; just pop your consultation bill in the post

I'm thinking that at £3.00 a year it won't cost much to snaffle all the other extensions....or at least the obvious ones.

am off to check on DD......she has been asleep for a mighy long time.

oh, and her skin os so much better after only two doses of antifungal. I feel so stupid for not thinking fungal sooner, and pissed off that the HV didn't suggest it when I saw her last week, an the week before that, and the week before that

OP posts:
milkyJammy · 12/03/2008 12:27

ew, some things on that thread are truly minging! I just added my own contribution though, so not guilt free myself

Riallymusttryharder · 12/03/2008 12:38

I only read the top two posts of that thread, the dog one put me off!
Glad DDs skin is better daisy.

Cigarette smoke foxy - we get it in the airing cupboard from the house next door. Weird.

This keyboard is truly shit.

Riallymusttryharder · 12/03/2008 12:57

Am I allowed a self-indulgent bitchy post?

Had a message from friend. Her Dc is poorly but she doesn't know if it's pox as dc not had it. So sh is angling t be invited round today because her DC being poorly and off school has ruined her plans.
first, I may not have much of a life but I am not sat here waiting to pickup the pieces of someone elses day.
second, DS1 is poorly so I don't want to expose him to another illness.
third, baggins may not be a tiny weak baby, and he may or may not get pox from DS2,but I don't want him getting something else either.

I am so selfish.

also she ca be a self-important cow and sometimes makes me feelvery small, but sh has failed at somethng I can do

Rant over. DH is back so I can witter on to him about itnow
