Thanks Holly I have emailed you.

Riallymusttryharder · 14/03/2008 19:53

to everyone who needs them.

DH is putting DS2 to bed tonight and so he bloody should. Serves him right for glaring at me for doing the ironing.

foxythesnowman · 14/03/2008 19:55

AARRGGHHHH. Now I have a frickin coldsore. Haven't had one in 7 years. Anyone have any remedies?

Am in a baaaad mood now.

this is the hardest part, it gets better soon.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2008 20:02

"For cold sores dab neat Tea Tree Essential Oil directly onto the burning sensation at the first signs of a cold sore, or use it mixed with a little vodka."

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 14/03/2008 20:05

Or drink the vodka until you are in a state where you don't care about the cold sore, state of the house or whether the kids are in bed

Bumper

HellHathNoFury · 14/03/2008 20:09

evening all!

Well my risotto was lush if I do say so myself, alas DS didn't agree and turned his nose up at it. As he does with anything that has rice in it. Tough tits it's all he's getting.

I am off to bed soon, am knackere.d

foxythesnowman · 14/03/2008 20:14

LOL Bumper!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2008 20:20

I am also knackered Fury. Couldn't persuade DH that we should order a pizza in, so have just just started cooking.

foxythesnowman · 14/03/2008 20:22

Why are you cooking if it was DH who didn't want the pizza??

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2008 20:23

That's a good point Foxy. He did offer to cook, but I decided I'd rather do it myself if we're having home cooked food.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2008 20:24

I shouldn't complain too much though as it's just pasta, with some bacon & cheese and garlic bread.

Sputnik · 14/03/2008 20:29

We ended up with fish risotto here too, they do a really good mix for it at the fish counter here with prawns, salmon, calamari and whatever they happen to have, I always keep some in the freezer as it's really easy to do. Infact DH cooked it while I put the baby to bed. I had planned stir fry but I'm too knackered even to chop veg.

Sputnik · 14/03/2008 20:32

BTW, Ria I keep meaning to ask if your DS2 still has an afternoon nap? We used to take ages putting DD to bed, then we dropped the nap and she's usually off about 2 minutes after the last story.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2008 20:51

On the bus this morning an old woman got on who was wearing a total mish mash of colours - a very pink trainers, jeans, a bright purple jumper, a reddish orange coat and a yellowy orange felt hat with purple flowers on it, with a shopping trolley with red, blue, pink and green flowers all over it. Each item individually (with perhaps the exception of the shopping trolley) was great: fun, colourful, cheery, but the overall ensemble was a bit much. But she was obviously happy with her look and I thought how I was looking forward to being old and not caring about style or coordination, but just enjoying things for what they are and to hell with the fashion police.

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 14/03/2008 21:10

Oh god, you know that poem about being old and waring purple knickers and your bra on your outside or something? My mum sees that as her personal goal for when she gets old. She aspires to be a bag lady

lackaDAISYcal · 14/03/2008 21:17

aaaaaaaaaah

I'm feeling a little better, thanks my lovely ladies . DH is home and attacking the pile of dishes in the kitchen from teatime (homemade leek and potato soup from all organic ingredients, followed ny mushroom risotto)

foxy, I always get an icecube and sit with it on the coldsore for as long as possible. It seems to work, and if you get it at the tingly stage, it never develops. Otherwise oil of clove (like you have that lying around) or zovirax.

jammy, I think those boosters say from a year just in case some babies aren't quite sitting up by themselves, probably to cover themselves when kiddies fall out sideways) We have one and DD has been using it when we are out and about since Christmas.

LOL at the woman on the bus...i can't wait till i can get away with that look; she obviously ttok her inspiration from this
