Its a skill. Much like Max Beesleys acting

Izzybel · 04/03/2008 22:00

I know Foxy he's a sod isn't he! He's always worse off than me, even when I'm in labour. If I've got a headache, he's got a migraine. I've got a cold, he's got flu. He did have a lung infection last week, which I admit was pretty nasty but before he had been to the doctors about it he rang me from work telling me that he had bronchitis(sp?) The silly bugger had googled his symptoms!

milkyJammy · 04/03/2008 22:03

DH was very good at the time while I was in labour, but is still going on about what a whinge I was and what a fuss I made!

lackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2008 22:03

PMSL Zelda

at your DH Izzy......i hope yoou threw something at him!

My DH can sleep through a lot as well. when he is home at the weekend, i hope vainly that he will hear DD and go get her when she wakes up, but he never stirs until I'm halfway out of bed , then asks "shall I get her?" in a sleepy, don't want to but I better offer stylee.

am I a cheeky mare? I just sent an e-mail off to Barefoot Botanicals asking for some free samples of their SOS cream and bath oil. Annobal recommended it, but to buy both items will cost about £40. I don't want to spend that amount and it not work, so I figured, if you don't ask, you don't get.......

Sounds reasonable to me Daisy

But I'm off to bed, so Night all

lackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2008 22:05

I'd love to see how men would cope with the pain of labour. C-sections under general anaesthetic all the way I reckon

I think they must have secret lessons in school...on how to be a twunt. Mine certainly did. I wish they had breasts too, then the knobheads wouldn't have the excuse of norklessness not to get up in the night!

foxythesnowman · 04/03/2008 22:06

Good for you Daisy! I'm definately from the 'don't ask, don't get'. When DP is off shopping for products for me he has instruction to always ask for samples. Last time he came back with a full-size Origins body lotion, and he only bought a body scrub. Was very impressed!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 04/03/2008 22:07

Um...I must be quite good at giving birth because my dp is always telling his mates how hard I am and how quick and easy it was for me ! Oh well, at least I know he's proud of me!

foxythesnowman · 04/03/2008 22:07

If they had breasts they'd never get up!

Izzybel · 04/03/2008 22:08

Once, when DD was only tiny and was still sleeping in our room, I put her to bed in her moses basket and went downstairs to watch TV. DP had gone to bed and because they were in the same room I didn't take the monitor down with me. The next thing I knew I could hear faint crying and thought "ahh DP will be able to get her," but her crying just got louder and louder. When I got upstairs she was in her basket hysterical and there was DP laid on the bed next to her snoring his head off!!!!!

SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 22:08

I don't know if any of you can beat my DH who managed to come down with pneumonia 2 days after I came out of hospital with DS, and had to stay in bed for 10 days (him, not me). Selfish bastard, I'll never forgive him that (he wasn't even faking it)

lackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2008 22:08

i like the nork idea holly; then they could play with themselves for hours and leave us bloody well alone

on that note...good night!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 04/03/2008 22:09

I'm def of the don't ask, don't get persuasion! I have got so much stuff for free, esp since the dcs were born, it is amazing what you can get if you ask!

SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 22:09

That's a good idea Daisy. Definately 'don't ask, don't get!'

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 04/03/2008 22:10

LOL daisy! I'm off too, dp is still snoring, so I'm going to go and stamp on his nuts!

Peace out xx

lackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2008 22:11

how did you do that then Sputnik?

your DH wins the worst manflu competition hands down.

shall we have a spring challenge to see who can blag the most stuff? although holly will win, obviously.

OP posts:
SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 22:11

oops

foxythesnowman · 04/03/2008 22:11

Sputnik, that is just SO competitive of him!

foxythesnowman · 04/03/2008 22:13

Yep. Holly would win!

DP not here, as usual

night all!

Izzybel · 04/03/2008 22:13

Are you sure he wasn't faking it sputnik? seriously though, that's ashame I bet he felt like he missed out on the first 10 days, did he?

SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 22:21

It's quite hard to fake a temperature of 40 degrees, so probably it was for real. Izzy, it was baby no.2, so he probably thought been there, done that.

It was a pain for me, instead of being the one being looked after, I had to look after everyone.

My DH is fab though, he came home today with a robot vacuum cleaner. You can keep you diamond necklaces

BadZelda · 04/03/2008 23:15

Ooh was that one of those roombas?

Am I wrong to want these for our office?

Riallymusttryharder · 04/03/2008 23:27

Ah bollocks, I'm still here. Watching the pilot episode of New Tricks now. DH loves Babylon, he keeps telling me how much such and such is like someone he once worked with. His favourite tonight was Tony, who is "just like Ken" (interesting parallel, but this Ken apparently had an affair with a very prominent Hollywood actress...) For my part I was the only person ever to donate tips I was given to me - rather than just left on the table - to the staff pot. 'Tis true I've always been a silly cow.

I am off to bed in a minute butI am seriously crossing my fingers for a better day for those of us who could do with one tomorrow (and cramp in my fingers will make a welcome change from sore teeth because I clamp my jaw so hard in my sleep...)

BTW how is work going jammy? I think I went AWOL just beforeyou went back.

I am going out shopping with my sister on Friday, with only DS3 for company. Yipee. Plus she mentioned she would buy lunch. If she is not keeping-up-with-the-Masons it will be excellent fun.

Sorry, I am bored. Need sleep I think, and if I go now I might get an hour without any DCs
