where has everyone gone?

foxy if you're about, I've tried to e-mail you, but hotmail and yahoo aren't talking to each other again . It keeps getting bounced back as potential spam.

Morning everyone

I am at home playing nursemaid to a sick LO.
How is everyone?

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 08:50

Morning fury. Me too. (But I would have been at home anyway.)

The sun is shining, we luckily don't seem to have had more storm than a bit of wind and rain, fairly normal really.

It's going to be a long week...

Sputnik · 11/03/2008 09:27

It's just stopped raining here. DD has gone off with DH to spend the day with MIL, I might actually do some work

annobal · 11/03/2008 09:49

Does that mean you are childfree

Sputnik · 11/03/2008 10:04

Well the baby is sleeping.
Even awake he doesn't really require that much entertaining and is still not mobile, he's quite amenable and I'm happy for him to stay that way for a while yet!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 11/03/2008 10:26

Morning eveyone.

Daisy, glad you are ok and hope it all goes well tomorrow. How are you feeling?

Sorry your los are ill ria and fury, hope they are ok.

The weather has been fucking shit here! Really stormy and windy with hail and rain. My dad phoned me yesterday and asked if I was flooded as he heard on the radio that my road was under water! Luckily we live on the highest part of the road (it is a very long road), so we haven't had any flooding yet. One positive is that there is a good presence of fire engines complete with firemen! Result!

My pg friend came over for a cuppa yesterday. It was her due date and she didn't think anything was happening and was bored. She said she kept having painful tightenings and they were quite regular...uh, you are having contractions you daft cow! She was contracting every 10 mins or so at my house and I told her she would have the baby really soon. She was not convinced! Well...I get a text from her at 6 this morning and she had had a baby boy during the night!

Surprisingly I am seething with jealousy! I can't wait to see him!

LittleMissNorty · 11/03/2008 10:33

Morning.....Poor babies...hope they're feeling better. norovirus is horrible, all 3 of us had that just before Xmas and it is a wicked virus.....

DD was exposed to Chickenpox at 3 weeks old and didn't get it so here's hoping.....

For a child that rarely wakes during the night, she had me up 3 times last night sobbing for no apparent reason - no temp etc. I gave her some calpol and she slept for another 3 hours.....then repeat..I was up at 10.30, 11.30, 3.30....consequently we are all knackered today (apologies to those that do this regularly....I'm out of practice at getting up during the night). She was a bit tearful this morning but there was nothing specific so she went to nursery as usual. Perhaps teeth? Can't see anything though?

Jammy - I have evenings like that...Tuesday evenings for me as I've been at work and am back on a Wednesday....

andiem · 11/03/2008 13:41

I am off to the office tomorrow and out for lunch it is the first time dh has had charge of lo for longer than an hour should be interesting. I am going in to pack all my crap up ready to bring it home and then to say goodbye to my old team I am looking forward to leaving the house with nothing but a handbag

foxythesnowman · 11/03/2008 14:11

Hi,

Congrats to your BF Holly! Always love hearing tales of babes being born.

NOT Chicken Pox! Or if it was, it was the shortest case ever. All the spots have gone. I'm baffled. It wasn't a rash as spots were just too random. One on her ear, one on her foot, etc. Oh well, she's fine and that's the main thing.

How's everyone?

Sputnik · 11/03/2008 14:18

Good news!
I'm not here really, supposed to be working.
Does anyone else find their DCs sleep more when it's raining?

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 11/03/2008 14:26

I know foxy, can't wait to hear her birth story and see her teeny baby! He was only 7lbs 8oz, so is mini compared to mine!

Glad your lo doesn't have chicken pox.

Norty, sorry about your night, mine wasn't much better! We have all been up since 5.30 as dp got up then and woke everyone else up! Silly man!

Sputnik, my dcs don't tend to sleep more when it's raining, but I definately feel more tired...or maybe I'm just lazy !

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 11/03/2008 14:29

Cooking lessons with Gordon!!

andiem · 11/03/2008 14:35

foxy my lo had some chicken poxy like spots last week as well but came to nothing wonder if it a virus that is going around

foxythesnowman · 11/03/2008 14:39

I saw him out running the other night

foxythesnowman · 11/03/2008 14:41

I wonder if its the same Andiem.

LOL at that askamum site. noticed it said "askamum loves .... SMA". You'd never see that on here

lackaDAISYcal · 11/03/2008 14:41

afternoon. I've been out having a RL . NCT this morning, then lunch with a friend (her treat for my birthday ...it's only taken us 6 weeks to get it happening as there has always been something with either her LO, my LO or one of us).

Starting a new NCT group soon, one for crawling age and upwards. It's a bit hectic on a Tuesday as all the older babies tend to crawl over the top of the little ones.

thanks andie

glad it's not chicken pox foxy, but sounds baffling whatever!

aw holly, new babies...can't wait for that lovely newborn smell again

DH had a second interview today for the job in Bradford. Fingers crossed! He'll know by the end of the week either way, but he sounds hopeful as he has worked with at least two of the people interviewing him before, and we all love a bit of nepotism

hope all the poorly LOs are better soon.

OP posts:
andiem · 11/03/2008 14:41

foxy you should have asked him to stop by and cook tea for dcs

andiem · 11/03/2008 14:42

aagh lo has just tipped the bumbo forward and got out glad it was on carpet

annobal · 11/03/2008 14:50

Grr moan alert! I've just sold an oi oi change bag on ebay for 99p and £6 for delivery. Delivery was £4.25 - when you add ebay listing fees and paypal fees and packaging, I've just about come out square. The cow has just complained that I should have sent it first class as £6 was too expensive. What's more, it ended today and I've sent it already!!!

Should I be the bigger person and not respond??

foxythesnowman · 11/03/2008 14:50

he definately didn't want to be recognised!

Daisy, something occurred to me re. the double buggy issue. Make sure you get one you can steer (in some sort of fashioin) one-handed. I think that was why I bought my crappy double - so was quite important at the time.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 11/03/2008 14:52

My ds can escape from bumbo too andie, it is very funny! He pops his legs out and twists sideways and falls on the floor. No wonder they say not to put it on a raised surface! Hope your ds hasn't hurt himself.

ROFL at the "askamum loves sma"! I didn't see that. I am imagining the hoohaa if that appeared on here!

Glad you are well daisy and having a RL. Good luck to dh with the job, fingers crossed.

Dp has just applied for a new job, it is twice as much as he is getting now + commision. They are really keen to see him and he will prob have an interview this week. TBH if he gets it most of our money ishoos will be sorted and we can start paying off some debts and finally look at getting a mortgage of our own !

foxythesnowman · 11/03/2008 14:54

sounds like a bargain anyway Annobal! I didn't realise sellers would add fees etc to the postage.

She knew the score when she bid.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 11/03/2008 14:54

That is crap annobal! 99p for an oioi bag and wtf is the buying complaining for? I don't understand! Just don't reply, I do that with such people otherwise I know I would end up telling them to fuck off!

annobal · 11/03/2008 14:57

She should get it tomorrow anyway! The listing ended today and it was sent today. FFS I bought it for around £100. I'm really cross - I really think I need to get a life .
