evening all, daisy that's reassuring. thinking of you.

foxy what a pita! is she ok with it?

how the fuck am i supposed to stop dd pinching and pulling my hair while feeding at night. it is soooo aggravating!

Izzybel · 10/03/2008 19:24

Hello!
Daisy, I'm glad you're feeling ok . I hope everything goes well on Thursday and the week till then flies by.
Foxy and Fury, sorry your los are ill.
Hope your Dad is ok, Jammy.

On a positive note, my cold and cough are starting to go (yay) although DD has started with a bit of a runny nose (for a change!)
It's like living with a football hooligan. She never stops shouting! Yesterday I walked into her room to see her standing at the bottom of her cot, with her arms stretched out, like Kate Winslet, in Titanic!
She's embarassing when we go out. She made an old lady jump in Tescos.

Izzybel · 10/03/2008 19:28

If you find out the answer to that one, Bumper let me know! I'm always getting my hair pulled (part of the reason I had it cut), eyes gauged out, dribbled on. The latest one is that DD keeps pulling my hearing aids out and then cries when I won't let her have them. I try looking at her sternly and saying 'no' but she won't have it!

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 10/03/2008 19:40

I get teeny tiny but fricking painful pinches! I try 'no' too, but wonder if it is too early. Might have to start putting mitts on her again if she's not careful!

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 19:41

lol Izzybel at making the old lady jump

Well DH took DS to the GP who said he had norovirus! Apparently it's doing the rounds here.

Izzybel · 10/03/2008 19:45

Aww poor little thing. What is norovirus? Is it a tummy bug?

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 19:47

a very contagious tummy bug that's quite painful, I had it earlier this year and was out of action for almost a week!

He is on milk only atm but seems brighter than he did this morning.

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 19:52

Poor DS fury.

chicken poxs looks fairly certain, though only a couple of spots so far. And of course, no fecking calamine lotion and the chemist at Morrisons closes at 8pm and it;s a 15 minute drive away. Have given a dose of antihisamine and hopefully that will see us through to the morning when no doubt there will be more spots.

Bathtime beckons.

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 19:52

I don't know why I put the "s" on pox

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 19:54

All the chicken pox! Poor LO's

Izzybel · 10/03/2008 20:03

Your lo aswell Ria? oh dear!

milkyJammy · 10/03/2008 20:19

Poor poxy LOs!! And hugs to the mummies who have to deal with them. And similarly to D&V babies and their mummies.

Daisy, glad things were OK with the EPU and hope Thursday brings good news

I've just worked out why I'm so knackered. I got in from work at 5.45 and since then I have fed the cat; changed the cat litter; cleaned the breadmaker; unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher; prepared breast pump and bottles etc for tomorrow; fed the jamlet; played with the jamlet; taken the dry nappies and washing off the radiators and airer; hung up the wet washing; put another load on to wash; put the jamlet to bed; made tea (kedgeree); instructed DH to fold up the dry nappies and set the bread machine going; loaded up a bag with clean nappies for nursery; hung up the next load of wet washing; made us drinks. I am finally having a sit down!!

Izzybel · 10/03/2008 20:19

You lot are making me feel ashamed with all your excercising! I have just polished off my second portion of viennetta

milkyJammy · 10/03/2008 20:22

I just had a peanut kitkat chunky Izzy

Izzybel · 10/03/2008 20:28

I've also had two packets of walkers crisp
Right, I'm off. DP wants to use computer. Bye

Sputnik · 10/03/2008 20:47

I'm tired just reading that Jammy. How was the radioactive waste?
Speaking of which, you have reminded me I have to hang up a load of washing from 2 days ago, will it be stinky and can I be bothered to fid out?

Sorry to hear about all the sick LOs. Chicken pox is a pain.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/03/2008 20:48

I'm munching my way through a 150g bar of galaxy

lolling at your hooligan DD izzy ; mine is a bit of a monster as well. When she does something she shouldn't (ie blowing food out of her mouth when she has had enough (she has started doing this with my boob as well!) and I say No, she just grins, shakes her head and then keeps on doing it.

She has also discovered the living room shelf unit. She pulls herself up on the bottom shelf (at her waist level) then reaches up above her head and pulls everything off the shelf that is directly above her head.

bumper, DD tries to pick the moles off my upper arms when she is feeding. I'm covered in little bruises from it, but then I am a delicate little peach. If I hold her hand to stop her doing it, she starts kicking me instead. She is a horror!

Sorry about all the poorly LOs. DS hasn't had chicken pox yet, so there's no guarantee your LO will get it Norty.

sputnik, just wash it again!

jammy, I'm knackered just reading that. You need to encourage your DH to help out more!

Is anyone watching Panorama? I'm finding it all a bit disturbing, especially the "innocent" causes for similar damage to shaken baby syndrome.....DD has had most of those accidents already!

Sputnik · 10/03/2008 21:03

Whatever, it's tomorrow's problem I feel.

milkyJammy · 10/03/2008 21:12

Wash it overnight Sputnik, and then you'll just have to hang it up tomorrow

Sorry, I've been distracted by Sainsburys online, putting in an order for Weds delivery (seeing as I'll be sitting in waiting for delivery of the jamlet's new car seat)

Radioactive waste was good thanks Sputnik. Had to wear a very attractive disposable lab coat And been monitored for contamination so many times this afternoon. Still, better than coming home with a "ready brek glow"

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 21:12

I went to the village shop (in the car cos the rain put me off power-walking)to see if they might just have calamine. They didn't, but pringles were on offer , so was dairy milk , and I bought DH a bottle of red to help with our symptoms!

Jammy you are just too dedicated.

milkyJammy · 10/03/2008 21:14

LOL Ria! Sounds like good medicine

lackaDAISYcal · 10/03/2008 21:17

I've finished my 150g bar of galaxy, and now feel very, very, very sick

Did someone mention norovirus? that's a nasty one isn't it?

OP posts:
milkyJammy · 10/03/2008 21:23

We were talking about chin snogging the other day. The jamlet is getting more vigorous with this, and can really chomp down hard on my chin. It feels quite battered still from her efforts when she got home from nursery this evening! I suspect teeth aren't far away from the pain it was causing at the time. But I have found a way to help stop her pulling my hair so much - clip it back I did this for work today, largely to stop it blowing about so mush at the bus stop, and found it much nicer to cuddle her as there wasn't hair all round my face for her to grab. Simple but effective. And my hair was neater all day as a result.

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 21:30

baggins likes hair pulling. Daddys chest hair is a favourite.

Pringles are revolting! I just wish my palate would change enough so I don't feel the need to buy them in the first place.
