HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 09:58

yes just a tummy bug. That he caught from my oh-so-wonderful and hygienic nursery. I rang them this morning, 6 kids are off with it.

The sooner we are out of there the better.

Good news about your job being a bit flexible for you btw!

SisterSputnik · 10/03/2008 10:16

Morning everyone.
Daisy, hope you're feeling better today, presumably you're off getting things looked at?

Fury, sorry to hear your DS is ill again, do you still have to pay the nursery if he doesn't go? Glad your Mum's party went ok.

Jammy hope your Dad is ok, he sounds amazing, I thought mine was doing well as he's 70 this year and still goes rock climbing, but yours put him in the shade!

Anyway, I am feeling unreasonably pissed off this morning, it's raining again and I'm trying to stay away from the toaster (one reason I'm pissed off is that despite dieting and exercising I've lost nothing in the last 2 weeks, pah). Anyway, check you all later, I'm off to get that amazing sexy butt and thighs I've always wanted .

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 10:24

Morning Sputnik!

Yes we still pay for nursery come rain wind or shine.
Grrr.

Oh yes Daisy meant to say I hope things go ok today.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 10/03/2008 10:58

Morning everyone.

Daisy, fingers crossed for today, hope it is all well xxx

Fury, sorry your ds is ill again, poor little man . Hope he is better soon.

Good luck on the exercise sputnik! It's pissing it down here too, so I am eating chocolate and drinking tea.

Why will my ds only drink from dd's pink juice cup and not his cool cow print one? Maybe dd and I have affected him by dressing him up as a fairy the other day !

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 11:04

just popping in to see if daisy is ok.

hi fury, sorry about DS and a shame about your Mums party, but so long as the people she loves were there I'm sure she had a good time.

Sputnik, come and join me on the new mummies thread. I'll be back there tomorrow when I don't need to eat biscuits to take paracetamol

hope your dad is ok jammy, mine is 66 and plays golf, hikes, does lots of house mintenances, and runs round after the GCs like supergrandad. He has a headache today, hope he isn't getting mums flu as she won't be as patient a nurse as he is!

DHs job for the day - fit safety gates.

FairyFay · 10/03/2008 11:09

Hello everyone, I was popping in to see if Daisy was about as well, not that it's not nice to 'see' everyone else as well though .

Sorry to hear about poorly DS Fury, he does seem to have been in the wars a lot lately, poor thing. I'm glad your Mum enjoyed her party.

Exercise is overated imho, but then I'm very lazy

DS seems to have given up sleeping, both day and night which is doing my head in. Bizarely the only time he did sleep for any length of time last night was during the worst of the storm, strange child that he is. I'm hoping it's just teething and not a habit as I'm shattered.

Off to my parents' for a couple of nights this afternoon so be good while I'm gone and see you all soon

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 11:13

I bought a lateral thigh trainer from ebay at the weekend. My Sis has one and in a month she looks amazing, so I bought one. £30 all up so we'll see!

I used to be very lazy but since cutting out bread from my diet I have so much more energy.

Having said that last night I got comfy with a jar of nutella and a spoon so I am no saint.

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 11:14

Have fun at your parents Fairy!

foxythesnowman · 10/03/2008 11:14

Hello all.

Daisy - good luck today xxx

Sorry to hear DS is sick again Fury. Do you think all his illnesses are nursery related? I mean, I know that they are incontact with lots of other kids, but could the nursery be doing more? Good to hear your Mum's party went well. Was she surprised?

See you in a few days FF! Come back soon.

Bumper, saw your posts on the other thread. FWIW I've often felt the same. There's a huge population of wankers, and now I just steer clear. But I know where you are coming from.
Gotta go, lunch beckons.

Later ladies

HellHathNoFury · 10/03/2008 11:19

Hey foxy,
Yes, IMHO I feel the nursery are very likely if not wholly likely to be the cause of all his problems.

Before he went to nursery he had reflux and a few screamy nights. Nothing more.

Since being at nursery he has had 3 D&V (one of which was very bad) and a constant cold.

I expect the colds - I am angry about the D&V as I feel that the nursery could be doing more to prevent these bugs and infections.
Given their ofsted rating for hygiene was 'inadequate' I am hardly surprised.
Apparently half the kids at the nursery are off with it today.

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 11:22

sorry fury, I got that abit garbled, I'm sorry not everyone turned up, but I am pleased it went ok otherwise. I was distrated by a chocolate hobnob. We did a surprise party for my parents once and my Dad looked ill for about the forst 45 mins til he found out his evil sister hadn't been invited. I think they enjoyed it but they'll certainly never forget it!

Exercise-wise, did I mention these? I have a couple of books and a video (easily obtained from charity shops for some reason), I've been doing the 20 minutes a day for 30 days book, have only done 10 or so days but really felt a difference. They hurt like hell but the before and after photos in the book are amazing. They're good for my sad old back too.

I suppose if I'm well enough to use the PC a little bit of light dusting is in order

Have fun FF.

milkyJammy · 10/03/2008 12:24

Hi ladies, on my lunch here. Thanks for the good wishes about my Dad.

Fury, sorry to hear about DS being ill again. But glad the party was a success.

Sputnik & Ria - you are making me feel very guilty that I haven't done any exercise for ages. Was just too ill for all of Feb to do anything that involved moving. But am well enough now to get walking again, so must get out of these lazy habits.

Fairy - have a good time with your folks!

OK, got to do some stuff and then I'm off to look at some radioactive waste this afternoon. The fun never starts stops!

Sputnik · 10/03/2008 13:39

Well done on the exercise Ria.
Whether or not mine is helping me lose weight exercising has made a huge difference to my bad back and sore hips, which I've had since pg, and that is a huge result as far as I'm concerned, as the pain was keeping me awake. Actually I am vaguely hoping that I haven't lost weight because I've been building muscle instead, the stuff I'm doing is quite tough and leaves me with wobbly legs. I can walk next day though

annobal · 10/03/2008 14:39

Afternoon!

Sputnik, the muscle thing sounds totally reasonable to me - how do your clothes feel?

This leaving malarchy is busy and tiring stuff but we're having today off (apart from out to dinner tonight).

annobal · 10/03/2008 14:42

Have just caught up!

Jammy, I hope your Dad's ok - when will you know?

Fury, poor DS, hope he gets better quickly.

Have fun at your parents Fairy, hope you get some lovely sleep.

Good luck today Daisy.

Sputnik · 10/03/2008 15:20

Clothes feel a bit looser. Thank you.

annobal · 10/03/2008 15:32

You're welcome - tis true!

foxythesnowman · 10/03/2008 16:24

Daisy How's things?

I think LO has Chicken Pox. She has random red spots all over. Some look like they have tiny blisters, but not sure. I'll know later probably.

Typical. DP is away for the best part of a week as of Wednesday.

Bollocks.

Sputnik · 10/03/2008 16:27

Daisy hasn't been around all day. Hope she is ok.
Bummer about the chicken pox

lackaDAISYcal · 10/03/2008 16:55

I'm fine

I called the EPU and had a lovely chat with them and they think that it's probably just an implantation bleed. Bit, we've booked in for a private scan on Thursday just to get things checked out. I've been gettting odd stabbing pains on my right side which seem to go into my legs and I think I'm about to keel over, but EPU think it is either my sciatic nerve or ligament pain. I've to call them if any more bleeding.

There is a screening centre in Leeds that is part if the university and they charge £70 for a feotal viability scan, but they can't fit me in till Thursday. We called the private hospital (formerly BUPA but now Spire?), and they said they need a GP referral and it will cost £330 . We can wait till Thursday thank you very much!!

Took LO shopping today and bought a couple of toys, lots of nice new clothes and a potty! I'm going to start plonking her on it between nappy changes and see what happens. I also got a couple of tops and new nicks and socks.

DH working from home, so I couldn't get near the computer.

Glad the party went well Fury, and pants that DS is ill again.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/03/2008 16:56

sorry about the foxcub. Where has she picked that up from? Are any of the others showing symptoms?

OP posts:
annobal · 10/03/2008 17:26

Glad that you are ok Daisy and the EPU sounded very reassuring. Try not to worry and take things easy .

Foxy - poor dd!

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 18:16

Glad to hear thngs are ok daisy, I had an idea I'd been told something like that at EPU with DS2 but I was certain enough of the details to use it to reassure you. The BUPA hospital is now Spire, they keep senfing DH reminders to say his credit card won't accept the charge of £230 for his last consultation abd xray. That will be because they don't have any card details for him cos he's on NHS referral. Silly overpaid people. I believe it costs about £60 for a urine test

I'm sure it's muscle tone sputnik, I haven't exercised for about 10 days but when I was doing I felt taller and more defined (can you define jelly?)) but actually got heavier.

Poor DD foxy, I am on the lookout for chicken pox here too.

Riallymusttryharder · 10/03/2008 18:17

WASN'T certain

LittleMissNorty · 10/03/2008 19:02

Evening all

Glad things are OK Daisy ...Thursday isn't far away...

Poor LOs with D&V and Chicken pox - both are going round the nurseries here and where I work, so having just got rid of an ear and throat infection (which I've now got), I fully expect either / both D&V and chicken pox.

Have your others had it Foxy? My sisters 3 had it 2 weeks apart and she had 6 weeks of misery

God the weather has been awful today, and Dover completely shut so more lorries parked all over the bloody motorway again ....

As usual, forgotten everything else I was going to say again ....better go and attend to my toad-in-the-hole...
