PMSL at FIL's head ria! I've missed your sense of humour!

I'd better go, ds is sat on my lap staring at me and doesn't look in the slightest bit tired! I think I should try and get him to sleep!

I sort of promised my dp some "action" tonight, but he is asleep on the sofa. So if I sneak up to bed now and pretend to be asleep when he comes up I won't have to do it! Wicked!

Night xxx

lackaDAISYcal · 08/03/2008 22:25

lol Ria, I like the idea of being part of your self help campaign

If it's any consolation I'm really rubbish at meeting people and making friends as well (also due I suspect to low self esteem) so we can be nervous together . That's why the Mean Mothers thing is a bit of a big deal to me.

MN is running really slowly for me tonight for some reason.

I'm off to bed, I think my tum is going to keep me awake all night, feels like it's curling itself in a ball ready to explode!

Heartburn is caused by the fact that, when you are pregnant, the muscle that closes over your stomach relaxes, so any acid in your stomach can go up the esophagus(sp) and causes heartburn. Although I had heartburn loads and DD has always had quite a good head of hair

lackaDAISYcal · 08/03/2008 22:26

pmsl ria...even DH is chuckling at that one!

Izzybel · 08/03/2008 22:28

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:35

PAH. my lovely little baldies. I must get back on facebook so I can prove it

Night all. Rx

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 23:55

I found my facebook account!

and I wanted to say this, but it wouldn't let me because it was too long -

Well done daisy, Tis much better than my effort (involving cardboard box, silver spray paint and red permanent marker) when DS1 was Peter a couple of World book days ago (like he'd read the book, but he had seen the film I think!). I am glad you won a prize (J didn't). Watch out for competitive Mummy syndrome though - my Mum had it with our village carnival (she used to create whole FLOATs when my sisters and cousins were little - think Ovaltine hot air balloon, and Nimble advert and The Wombles - so much for farmers wives being seriously busy people (she was the rest of the time, but not in July!) - I inherited it when we moved back here with DS1 too. We had Noddy, Ernie the milkman, Groundforce (a float with my cousins children, not my idea though so a poor year for my ego), Posh & Becks (with my niece), Steve Irwin (complete with paper mache crocodile) and something I forget the point of which involved turning X's pushchair into a formula one car. All prize winners ('scuse the smugness!). The carnival is obselete now - health and safety apparently! What am I to do with my time?
Sorry for boring post - carnival fancy dress was my one skill and now it's gone! (I will try to find photos to scan and post on FB)

At least I've found my FB account again so I can bore on many levels!!!

Nite (again, but this tine definite) Rx

Riallymusttryharder · 09/03/2008 00:29

hmm, tonight la redoute don't recognise my accopunt. Did you find out why you had trouble with yours daisy?

should go to bed NOW!

FairyFay · 09/03/2008 07:29

Good morning lovely ladies. I have just checked out Daisy's and Ria's fancy dress pics - I bow down to your skills I'm dreading my first request to create an outfit.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 09/03/2008 07:37

Ding ding...proud mummy moment!!

I had an arguement with my dd last night about her wearing a nappy to bed- I wanted her to as she usually gets up with a wet nappy, she didn't want to wear one as babies wear nappies and she is a big girl. Well, I told her she could go nappiless, but if she wets then she has to wear one the following night.

She woke up dry! Hurrah! I am v proud of my big girl!

milkyJammy · 09/03/2008 09:11

Well done Little Holly!

And the jamlet slept from 11 - nearly 6

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 09/03/2008 10:01

Morning all, how are you!

I've been having a RL for a few days, albeit not a v interesting one.

Friday I went into work, which was actually pretty good. I spoke to 2 people about jobs and they both said they had been making calls and heard good things about me and both really wanted me to work for them. One had even created a post for for me. It was really nice to feel appreciated as I didn't feel like that when I was actually working there. So I know feel like it won't be so bad going back. Only now I have to chose between the jobs.

I have no idea which to chose as they are both completely different. One would be probably easier, possibly a bit more boring and something that I haven't done before so not sure I will enjoy, but a really nice team and possibility for travel. The second job, the one that has been "created" for me is a bit like I was doing before but wasn't really enjoying and said I would do again, but is basically a blank canvass, lots of scope for development (leading to promotion) but would be quite a battle. It's a team that has a lot of resources thrown at them but a team that, though the people seem nice enough, I swore I would join (all v political!), sort of a small fish in a big pond, but if you do your job well you get big kudos. I have no idea what to go for!

Anyway, yesterday I went to an NCT sale, volunteered for about 2 hours then got to shop before everyone else. Spent 30 quid and got loads of stuff. Tried selling too but about half of it came back, as there is always so much at these sales. I may just have broken even!

Anyway, how are all you guys?

Well done to alice Holly, that's good news. And good sleep for the jamlet!

We were out at a fundraising event for my bfing group last night. DD was very good though she woke up at 3.30 this morning and didn't want to go back to sleep, she was very clingy. I fed her and tried to put her back down but she refused, so DH got up with her. It was supposed to be my lie in day too

Riallymusttryharder · 09/03/2008 10:16

morning.

I am ridiculously twitchy and anxious feeling this morning, because I've got myself excited about buying a new bed for DS1 and switching his room back to the smaller one so DS2&3 can share the bigger room. There's no wonder my boys are weird if this is how I get over something small and insignificant/ Am going to have some tea and toast and try and calm down!

I'm sorry I started showing off with my fancy dress photos, I didn't scan them especially to show off last night, they were already on the PC with some stuff DH was fiddling with yesterday.

Well done jamlet and super well-done alice.

It looks a niceish day here, might get out for a walk on the beach later.

Have a nice day.

Riallymusttryharder · 09/03/2008 10:16

sounds nice to be wanted but v complicated bumper.

FairyFay · 09/03/2008 10:24

You should show them off Ria, they were really good

Bumper, that does sound complicated, but nice to be wanted! That's got to be good for your confidence

Well done Alice. I'm still putting off even trying to potty train DD, I'm finding it so daunting. I might try in the Easter nursery holidays, when I can stay in for a week if necessary

Riallymusttryharder · 09/03/2008 10:42

I really miss doing it actually, I'm crap at easter bonnets and decorated eggs though.

lackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2008 10:47

lol ria, the photos are great

bumper, sounds really positive on the job front. The travel sounds interesting, but how would that work with childcare etc? Personally, I'd go for the easy option, but, as I'm not even going to go back to work, my work ethic isn't exactly supercharged at the moment.

Had a shit night last night. DD slept from 7:30 till 7:30, but I was up half the bloody night worrying. I had a bit of pinkish discharge last night (sorry if TMI) and just couldn't sleep. I've had a bit more this morning, so DH has banished me to the sofa with my feet up for the day, but I've been here before, it's as much use as a chocolate teapot. So, crossing all fingers and toes and hoping that it comes to nothing, but will book in at the EPU tomorrow for a scan

sorry to bring the mood down

OP posts:
FairyFay · 09/03/2008 10:54

Daisy, sending you lots of 'sticky glue' vibes. Just put your feet up, relax and try not to worry. will keep everything crossed for you today

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 09/03/2008 10:59

Oh daisy, good luck. Make sure they see you at the EPU. Don't take no shit from them! Thinking of you lots. Wish there was something we could do xxxx

lackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2008 11:02

thanks guys.

bumper our epu have a self referral policy so no worries there. Am also a frequent flier there. They are always very nice.

DH has been despatched to bring much chocolate in from the shops.

OP posts:
milkyJammy · 09/03/2008 12:45

Daisy. Fingers crossed for you. DO take it easy until you've been to EPU. Easier said than done I know, but sounds like you've DH well trained if he's out for chocolate

Bumper - sounds exciting work wise, and lovely to be wanted Sounds like a tricky decision though. Agree travel sounds exciting, but you'll need to think about how much you'll want/be able to do so while DD is little, and whether you'll have any option to say no if it's just too much. But I guess you know all that already

Feel like we've got a mad week coming up. Next Sunday DH goes to Seattle, so there'll be getting things together for him, and getting ready for my parents coming down for a couple of days while he's away too. And on Friday I'm taking the jamlet to the hospital to have her eyes checked. I had a squint as a child and despite an operation and treatment I don't see very well out of one eye, so they are doing checks to be cautious as my Mum had similar problems too so it's obviously a family thing. Sometimes I think I can see a squint in her eye, sometimes I think I'm imagining it. And i have to go into DH's work this week as while he's in Seattle I am going to work in his office to save me driving backwards and forwards across the county dropping the jamlet to nursery and then going into my work and back again at night. But got to go check my remote log on will work and find out where I can express etc. Plus all the usual cooking, cleaning etc t do this afternoon.

foxythesnowman · 09/03/2008 13:21

Hi everyone.

Daisy - hope you are OK and not worrying too much. Good luck tomorrow - lots of good, healthy vibes coming your way. I'll be thinking off you xx

Sounds busy Jammy!

Well done to Alice Holly! I wish I could get DD1 out of pull ups at night. She's a bit hit-and-miss, and as I can't face the prospect of more washing, it'll just have to wait!

I don't think I can see your profile on FB Ria, so haven't seen the pics .

We've been busy, but its all feeling a bit 'Groundhog Day' here. DP has returned, and sent immediately out to the shops to get things for a roast. I'd rather sit on my arse and have a rest, but the opportunity for us all to have a family meal is rare so has to be taken. And the garden needs some attention.

LO has mastered "Row Row" and rocks back and forth on command now. And sometimes does a little 'scream' at the crocodile bit. I am incredibly proud. But I do admit it is a bit like having a performing monkey. Or Pavlov's dog.

Riallymusttryharder · 09/03/2008 13:53

I will have to try and sort my FB profile so we can be friends foxy. I hate facebook.

Fingers crossed daisy. I went through that with DS1 & 2 so I know how awful it is.

Am off for a bath and I think we're off for a walk on the beach. I just want to go to bed. The big boyshave just been sent to bed for yelling at each other with contempt. I LOVE Sundays!
