phew, am relieved you've ONLY got morning sickness daisy. My aunt has finally (afetr about 40 years of being "ill" with other things) been diagnosed with the other MS.

Get some fairy fay, go on. I'm thinking of those too, in a more muted colour than purple (I do love purple, but as someone said last night there's so many different shades and they don't always co-ordinate - believe me I know. I wish I'd bought that bloody jacket. Will have to be VERY - unnecessariy - nice to DH and have another trip to town on Monday. There can't be that many fat birds with dodgy taste about). I don't have holey proper crocs (though I do have cheap imitations for the beach), I have these, but the mary janes look really nice and fairly un-dodgy-croclike IMO.

FairyFay · 08/03/2008 21:56

I got some of those last year Holly but I found them really uncomfortable when I tried them on so I sent them back. My thinking is that the Mary James are less clumpy than the traditional crocs. Being a size 9, they make me look a bit like I'm wearing boats! I could be really sad and get matching ones for me and DD!

Izzybel · 08/03/2008 21:58

Wasn't keen on crocs at first, but I'm getting used to them now . They look really comfy though. The ones in the link are ok coz they're not a bright colour like some that I have seen.

lackaDAISYcal · 08/03/2008 21:58

at size 9 feet! I can imagine that makes shoe shopping a nightmare.

Are crocs good for dodgy back/knee problems then? I just noticed that it says they have orthotic soles, whatever that means. They are kind of growing on me and I was considering a pair for nipping in and out of the garden. Handy for slipping on and off, and can just be dunked in the sink if they get muddy.

Hi holly, what ya been up to?

Ria, if you do come to Leeds with your DH for his next hospital appointment, we really should meet up. I'd love to meet both you and baggins

You have to work through the pain fairy!! I must admit mine were a lot better after I'd washed them in my parents' dishwasher! I think the heat softened up the rubber a bit!

TBH I never would have thought I'd wear anything like Crocs, but now I am so much more interested in being comfortable than stylish. I find it very difficult to walk in heels nowadays (except for in my wonderful Clarks knee high boots).

God I sound about 56!

FairyFay · 08/03/2008 22:01

Yes, shoe shopping is a bit of a non event for me!

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:02

Hi holly

I like the idea of crocs for the beach, my BF was keen on the idea for her DS as he had diabetes so can't really paddle safely. My two both love their (and they offend MIL & FIL so it can't all be bad). I aren't sure about the prima ones as they aren't like shoes I normally wear (I wear fairly clumpy, non-feminine things. I had a gorgeous pair of Hawkshead clog-type things for years but they don't make them anymore.) but I was looking at them as maybe I should try to be more feminine. I am tempted by the ones with bigger grips too, but honestly, I am only in it for the comfort thing. I hate limping like I have been today and I click with every other step too

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 08/03/2008 22:02

I'm a size 8-9 as well, it's a farking nightmare! I have to be careful with stilletos for fear of looking like a drag queen!

I've not been up to much, just sort of hanging around! Are you ok daisy? Any sickness yet?

FairyFay · 08/03/2008 22:03

I'm all for immediate comfort though Holly. Daisy, they are supposed to be good for joint pain as they mould to your feet and support your arches, etc,

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 08/03/2008 22:04

Hello ria and fairy too!

I have to say I live in my Uggs atm and I am a bit scared about what I'm going to do when it warms up!

lackaDAISYcal · 08/03/2008 22:04

not sickness as such holly, but I feel a bit ill when I BF DD. My friend's baby is a projectile vomiter and I had to hand him back quick smart today as the smell of his muslin was making me want to throw up.

I've got heartburn and constipation though and gag when I brush my teeth....just the same as I was with DD.

FairyFay · 08/03/2008 22:05

I looked on ebay for some shoes earlier - plenty of thigh high red pvc stiletto boots on offer in a size nine, but not much else

Izzybel · 08/03/2008 22:07

Ooh heartburn drives you mad doesn't it. I had it none stop when I was pg with DD. Used to down the gaviscon straight from the bottle .

FairyFay · 08/03/2008 22:07

Ugh, I had that gagging when brushing my teeth Daisy, it's horrible isn't it. I had to do a really quick brush and then a mouthwash gargle as I couldn't do more than about 20 secs brushing without throwing up.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 08/03/2008 22:09

ROFL fairy! One of my friends, who is an ebay tycoon, suggested I sell my old 4 inch heeled shoes on ebay as they go for a lot of money because trannys buy them! I didn't know whether to or !!

Ewww, I can imagine that smell would set it off daisy! Dd always used to poo in her morning nappy and that used to make me sick! I didn't make it to the bathroom once and threw up in my hands!

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:10

I will try daisy. My CPN is setting me "tasks", I had my initial appt 2 weeks ago, I can't get to see her again til 10th April, but she gave me a self-help booklist and apparently my depression is mainly to do with low self esteem (i think, I've forgotten, but apparently "I don't know" is not an answer she'll accept to any questions). My point is maybe I can make meeting someone I've never met peoperly a "tasks" and score massive points and she'll leave me alone!

Crocs are fab for pain, I had that painful heel thing and sciatica and it's 99% better since I got them, also my feet aren't as smelly. The only thing is going into a shop with a sliipery floor can be a bit didgy as I slipped and jarred my back. My trainers are truly crap, but that will be because they didn't cost £300. I am worried about what I will do for shoes when crocs cease to exist. But Dh says I won't suffer so much if I'm lighter. I would love a pair of heeled boots to wear with jeans.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 08/03/2008 22:10

I was addicted to the gaviscon tablets! I did have hb, but not too badly, I just liked the taste of them! In fact it got to a point where I was craving them, I think it was the saltiness!

Izzybel · 08/03/2008 22:12

I hate shoe shopping. My feet are small, but they always seem quite wide at the toes, but with narrow ankles, and I can't walk in heels. Shopping for shoes for a night out is a nightmare. I hate feeling uncomfortable in high shoes. I feel like I'm walking like someone's shoved a stick up my bum.

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:13

bugger my typing.
Dhs fault for sodding mood lighting - as if!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 08/03/2008 22:14

Ria, try clarks. My heeled boot from there are fabulous. They are so comfortable and really support my feet. I have high arches, a high instep and very dodgy flexible ankles, so I need support around my foot and they are brilliant.

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:14

lol izzy

lackaDAISYcal · 08/03/2008 22:15

I swapped to herbal toothpaste and that helped a bit. The heartburn I'm stuck with as I seem to make hairy babies. Unfortunately I always get a craving for really hot spicy food in early pregnancy. I think it is mother nature playing a really cruel trick.

lol holly at selling your "tranny" shoes on ebay.

OP posts:
Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:16

I will holly, thanks - when I go to the slightly cheaper outlet in Kendal later in the year when my M&D get their carvan up and running for their deserving daughters{grin].

I am supposed to be listing stuff on ebay to fund my crocs habit.

(DS1 can't pronounce "supposed" so he says it once and then changes the sentence with "meant". lazy little sod)

Izzybel · 08/03/2008 22:18

My sister has just got a really nice pair of boots from Clarke's. I used to work in the one in my area, when I was 17, so I have a fear of going in incase the manageress still works there and recognises me. God, she was a witch

Riallymusttryharder · 08/03/2008 22:18

does heartburn mean you have hairy babies? I feel mine are the exception to that rule. But there is a genetic baldness disorder on DHs side. If the BBC had used FIL for that advert about white working class britain they would have got more words on his head.
