Lol rgee im back I never seem to have two minutes however I did think of you earlier when dh said that the apprentice is back on.

Hi vino you and ladders you naughty girl.

Wilks bloody hell you have only been there two minutes hope things get better soon.

Lauren usually goes 6 till 7 however last night she screamed from 10 till 3 not very well bless her but I was so tired.

Eah helllllllooooooo what did you end up with for dinner ? Have you ate all the cream eggs yet ?

Right bath time

vinojaune · 26/03/2008 19:15

rgee I am really looking forward to the apprentice too, they were discussing that on radio 5 today too (am becoming a big fan of radio 5). Lets still meet on 18th.

Wilkie - I didn;t get your email boo hoo but have had probs with aol. Will have to sort something else out. Glad you met a nice MNer. Bummer about the car etc. Things can only get better.

Tea ready and got to go to buy more paint after. Must dash!

2Happy · 26/03/2008 19:21

PHEW! For one awful moment I thought The Apprentice and Desperate Houswives was going to clash... but it's all ok, they're on one after the other.

OK, that's what passes for important in my world!

Wilkie, sorry to hear about your troubles. My car was broken into in Huddersfield, but randomly the police caught the guy and I got all my stuff back (it helped that he was driving up the slip road off the M62 in the wrong direction)
Jodie - nice to see you, how are things? Talkign of UD, hope she's ok too.
Funnily enough, ds2 is less obsessed by belly buttons than he is by tractors

Evening

wilkie - hope you are ok mate sounds like a crap day, how did dh first day go?

Rgee - I also though of you when I saw the apprentice advert (common theme occuring)

Vin - can't wait to see pics of decorating when its finished

jodie - hello, hope ds1 and dd are on the mend

UD - if you are lurking how are things now?

2happy - oh no is ds2 obsessed with farm machinery like ds1 - if you want I can involve you in all my over doing girls clothes minimal shopping for the girls

Lal - no I have resisted since the 2 this morning rest in fridge! Will post parcel tomorrow but will get the other apron on friday and post those together. Can you check your phone if you see this tonight

Wheres LTH havent seen her for few days?

Ellie came home from school feeling boiling but said she was cold she put herself to bed and hattie had a nap (think she was only just 2 when she dropped naps) so had an hour to myself (although Ellie has only just gone to bed now as wasnt tired) went in loft to put some more of Ellies clothes away that dont fit and found another black sack of 12-18month stuff washed and sorted it, big bag for charity shop and Hattie has an outfit for every day of the month

Dh gone out with his mate to watch footie (the ones that have just seperated) have done my ironing and cleaning so relaxing on here tonight!

looshkin · 27/03/2008 08:45

Morning all,

Wilkie - about the break in and bins - I have to say the binmen are militant here re the right kind of rubbish in the right bin, we have one of the highest recyling rates in the country and a state of the art recycle facility so it is not all bad. I cannot believe how unlucky you have been Uddersfield is OK really there has been a lot of investment recently. I hope your migraine has gone. Up for a meet up perhaps on monday pm???

2H - I don't think I will ever forget the look on ds1 face when he had to get off the tractor at the farm - priceless he looked like you were about to chop off both legs. Is dh around more this week, how are the inlaws?

eandh - cannot believe your girls but themselves to bed - a self sorting out baby. outfit for everyday of the month, I still feel a little pang knowing that I will never have a girl .

JodieG - hope you are doing OK.

vino - we are big radio5 fans but victoria derbyshire has become a little mean of late. I heard that lady with the bottle of whiskey a aday I reckon she was a radio troll.

laughalot - hope dd has a better night tonight what do you think was wrong - teeth/cold.

Rgee - I am watching the apprentice now - just got to the boardroom, some of the boys are complete numpties.

Shimmer - we have a friend who's little boy (same age as ours) is obsessed with her belly and will lift up her top to blow a rasberry anytime anywhere

Where is LTH and susie and UD for that matter

Right off to go shopping without dh and ds - bliss.

Loosh.

eandh · 27/03/2008 15:18

Afternoon - ellie still poorly seemed okay this morning but preschool said she was very quiet and not 'herself'.

We had to pop to bluewater after preschool to get frieda for hattie and trixie for ellie!!

eandh · 27/03/2008 15:42

oh and I blame laughalot for linking to them the other week

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 27/03/2008 18:53

Well, slightly better day today - no break ins. Although I think we have possibility picked THE MOST chavtastic street to live on. I won't go into details on here but I hate living in this street

Loosh - have emailed you, please can you have a look. How has the appt gone for DH?

EAH - how is Ellie? I can't believe how mch like Ellie Hattie looked like in that photo you text me. Apologies for lack of comms, I have used my mobile SO MUCH this month I am trying to cut back until my next set of mins/texts on the 6th April.

Sis came across today with DTs, had a lovely time, went to the pub for lunch and there was a soft play area for the kids. They then called you through when your dinner was ready on the table. Love it.

J has afternoon sesh at nursery tomorrow so I go to work in the shop! Eek!!

eandh · 28/03/2008 07:13

Right it appears Ellie is having night terrors - she was awake at least every hour last night screaming/crying and you cannot communicate with her, looking through archived threads I have a few ideas (apparently very common for them to wake for a wee and become disorienated and also been giving her chemist own brand of nurofen which was orange flavout so may be an ingredient in that) anyone goit any ideas as she is so knackered from not having a decent nights sleep for ages?

looshkin · 28/03/2008 08:05

Just a quickie as about to leave for docs as ds due MMR and pneumovacc.

eandh - I thought ds was having night terrors/bad nightmares at christmas as would wake up screaming and we did not know what was happening. He was really unsettled over christmas I think it was all too much for him. By accident we realised that if we switched the light on he calmed down instantly looked around and fell back to sleep. It maybe that he could then see where he was and felt better. Hope that this may help but I known that it will pass anyway

Keep on chanting this too will pass, this too will pass..... .

loosh

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 28/03/2008 08:19

EAH - I have the DR Ferber book which has a chapter on night terrors if you want me to post? J has to have a nightlight otherwise he wakes up screaming - we have bought a fantastic one from Jojo Maman Bebe which dims.

Loosh - thanks so much for the information!!! Defo on for Mon if OK with you? Can you email me your mobile number?

Reggiee/Vino - you around for a coffee this am?

Lizzzombie · 28/03/2008 08:27

Hi everyone. Just a quickie.
DJ has chicken pox.
We are supposed to be going to a wedding tomorrow (no kids) and my mum is baby sitting for the day. He is not troubled to it at the moment, it came up this morning. But I am not sure what to do about tomorrow.
Do you reckon I should cancel going to the wedding or should we change our invites to evening only or do you think if I dose him up on periton etc he will be ok?
I dont know what to do !

laughalot · 28/03/2008 10:23

Lizz I would still go if he isnt to bothered by it. Are you close enough to come back if needs be ? You cannot do anything about the chicken pox so I would go and just be on stand by if mum rings.

Wilkie hope things are a little bit better for you today im sure you will be walking around the estate soon with a gold buggy and rings on every finger .

Eah my friends little girl suffered night terrors at ellies age and they were that frightening she called nhs direct as she had never heard of them and dident know how to control her. I think it was a case of hold them and make sure they are in no danger but dont speak to them. Glad you resisted spending in the sale you are a good girl. Just organising your birthday present yes I know its ages away but I need to be prepared.

Loosh hope the mmr goes ok im a bit concerned as lauren hasnt had her letter yet I best ring the surgery. L is better I think it was her teeth. How is your dh?

Right l has done a poo what joy

eandh · 28/03/2008 10:41

am very excited about my birthday present (only 20 days to go) (just popping out to get Laurens pinny in a mo)

Lizz - I'd still go and just make sure phone is on - piriton made Hattie go mad (kept her awake for hours) oats in a sock in the bath good for calming itchiness and aqueaous clamine not not calamine lotion

I am so good resisting buying anything oiwth my VIP next sale invite

Loosh/LAL/Wilkie - thanks fo radvice found a fab website that describes whats happening exactly and some possible theories that are worth a try (waking her after 1-2 hours sleep then resettling to break the habit, also have been giving her orange flavoured inrufopen and orange makes her ga ga anyway plus lifting her to go to the loo before we go to bed as sometimes its the need to have a wee that can start these)

Right need to pop out and get my boss some shopping (may do some of mine whilst I am out )

ReggieegeeGrandNational · 28/03/2008 12:05

Quick post back later
Wilkie - was out this morning...just got your email and have texted you. Hope not too late

Shimmer · 28/03/2008 14:34

I have a question for you laydeez... and it's not baby-related!

One of my close friends has just got engaged. She and DP are having an 'engagement party' in a couple of weeks, we got proper invitations and they've hired a space in a trendy bar. Am I meant to take a present??? I've been to several weddings in my time and obviously taken gifts to them, but don't know anyone who's had an engagement party before. It kind of sounds like the kind of thing that you should be taking something too. I don't want to look mean and not bring a pressie if everyone else does! But then they're getting married early next year so obviously they'll get presents then. Seems like a hellava good deal if they're expecting soemthing for engagement AND wedding?!? Who, me, stingy??

Any ideas????

Shimmer · 28/03/2008 14:40

Poor DJ, Lizz. I'd wait and see what kind of aftenoon & night he has tonight and then decide whether to go tomorrow. I'm sure they'll understand if you decide you can't make it because DJ's not well. F hasn't had CP so i don't know how ill the LOs actually are, I'm always over-cautious though, so always end up missng out on all the fun! What does your mum think? Mine's always very vocal about not wanting to babysit if she thinks I should be home.

laughalot · 28/03/2008 14:45

Shimmer usually people take gifts but it is a pain when they are getting married . Why not a bottle of champagne or nice bottle of wine ?

2Happy · 28/03/2008 16:12

Lizz - I guess it depends on how he is. ds2 was pretty chirpy despite his, though the day after the first spots appeared is when the rash developped the fastest and he was more grisly. But I was fine to leave him with relatives. But then there's LTH's ds?3 was it, who was really poorly. Wait and see I guess.
Shimmer - hmm, toughie. If they've lived together for ages and have lots of stuff, I think I'd take a bottle of bubbly or something (or just a card if it was near the end of the month!). If I was them I'd've stipulated no presents, and would've been embarassed to get any. We were touched when a few people got us engagement gifts, but we weren't expecting any (but we didn't throw a party, either...saved that for the big day!)....talking of big days - PCF?? How's things?!
Wilkie - hope your first day in the shop has gone ok and J happy in nursery
Loosh - how's dh doing? Has sil pulled herself together any? Hope W ok after jabs
Where's kw3?

ds2 had his 1 year check today, what a waste of time. Have you any worries? - no, if I had I would have called you. I had to pull favours with the mil to go, since HV didn't want ds1 there . Still at least she seemed happy that we're still bfing, rather than looking at me like some sort of freak. PILs are keeping ds1 this afternoon, and then dh is going there to try him sleeping over there (he hasn't stayed the night at PILs since he was about 1 ) so it's just me and ds2 - can't remember the last time it was just me and the baby, awww. Have spent his nap demolishing the last of the twat in the hat (guy who had the house before us)'s concrete-and-breezeblock edifices with sledgehammer and crowbar; satisfying! Might be a little stiff later!!

ReggieegeeGrandNational · 28/03/2008 18:21

Hi all.
Lizz - more cp on this thread. Glad DJ is bearing up well though. If your mum is ok having him, DJ is still relatively content, and the wedding is relatively close by, I'd go. And enjoy it!!

Loosh - how did the jabs go? DD has got hers next Friday. Got the letter through two months ago, and I asked dh to organise it cos he hasn't taken her for a jab yet. Needless to say despite various reminders he hadn't done it.

Shimmer I think expecting engagement presents is a bit . Weddings don't come cheap for the guests either! I personally wouldn't get a present, but I quite like the suggestion to just take a bottle if you aren't as hard lilne as me

Eah - am trying to remember what your birthday present is. Were you being taken away?

Lal pmsl - thought you meant "I (as in you)had done a poo"

Wilkie how did the nursery go?

ReggieegeeGrandNational · 28/03/2008 18:22

2H I understand the 'odd glass on wine' may be the perfect cure for potential stiffness....

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 28/03/2008 18:48

Shimmer - I am firmly in Reggie's camp and would get a lovely card with nice words but no gifts. Weddings are expensive enough without having to buy bloody engagement gifts!!! Our mates had a similar bash and we didn't buy anything. And, TBH, they will prob get inundated with bubbly (we did - and we don't drink it).

LIzz - I would go, keep your mobile on and as long as he is happy, don't worry - just let your hair down. You deserve some fun!

EAH - hope that the website helps solve the probs with Ellie!!

Loosh - looking forward to meeting you on Weds. I am realy a trucker called Graham and have very hairy palms

2Hiphopandhappy - HV reviews are a WASTE OF TIME aren't they!

God I hate living where we do.

ReggieegeeGrandNational · 28/03/2008 18:54

Big hugs ((Wilkie)).
It's always funny totally uprooting and moving to a brand new place - it will take time to settle and get used to new house , new job, new people etc. It all happened for you in such a short space of time you barely had time to come to terms with it.
Is your dh enjoying his new job?

eandh · 28/03/2008 18:56

Shimmer I started replying to you at work and had call from MIL to say ~Ellie refusing nurofenand burning up and sobbing for me. Got there house was boiling, she took nurofen (from spoon not syringe thing) left and half an hour later bouncing around . Anyway was posting that this was the exact reason we didnt have an engagement party as didnt want eveyone thinking we wanted gifts (we had moved int ogether few months before and got house warming gifts plus we got engaged millenium night so eveyone was skint ) I'd take a bottle of bubbly or nominal voucher (£10) and save present for wedding.

2happy - hope ds2 sleeps for you tonight and have a nice long soak in peace

Rgee - we have Hatties jabs in next week (cancelled twice due to illness) dh wouldnt have a clue when jabs are due etc blimmin useless he is DH had booked london eye/river cruise meal with 6 friends but we've cancelled (he though I was 30 this year but I'm only 29) and also friends seperating made it awkward so we are having huge meal with friends on 12th. Have asked for gorgeous leather bag from dh and girls but Ellie wants to buy me 'beautiful' jewellery (her words)

Lizz - hows DJ?

Well we are trying some of the methods tonight to stop night terrors so fingers crossed and Ellie desperate to go to working mans cafe with my Dad and then onto museum tomorrow (they have a display of royal dresses so she thinks its princess related) so have tried to persuade her that she needs to sleep all night

eandh · 28/03/2008 19:02

x post wilkie - (((hugs))) its not forever have you started looking at places to buy yet?
