bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored

Highlight of my day

8am - do shopping in 'big' tesco with Hattie screaming (Ellie behaving )

Go to eddas house ( again as Ellie plays nicely with eddas dd (although loudly and wake eddas ds from nap )

Go to PIL's who have bought exactly same laptop as me spend 1.5hours setting it up and back there tomorrow for family lunch to finish connecting internet etc

Come home, occupy tired children (up at 5.30 hence being in tesco at 8am) cook dinner, do baths, ellie in bed at 6pm and hattie sort of alseep but keeps waking due to 4 teeth cutting and a snotty nose

Wow my life is so exciting I don't know how I cope!

vinojaune · 22/03/2008 22:29

Tired vino

Wilkie must have been EXCITED to find out that there was a phone and internet connection. I can picture her whooping with joy!

E&H good news about your fridge freezer coming early, hope you get the price match sorted out. Treat yourself with the saving?

DH and FIL have been fitting a new kitchen cupboard today which has taken ages_ and is still not finished. We are ready for our painting next week, raring to go cos I want to get the house sorted out. Don;t really feel as though my life is very exciting at the moment just busy busy busy.

eandh · 23/03/2008 08:28

I love painting and decorating Vino - which rooms are you doing first?

girls have got 14 easter eggs and £40 between them for easter blimmin stupid amount of packaging on eggs so have broken them all up and put them in containers for each of them

2HappyEaster · 23/03/2008 10:03

14?! Blimey. Am waiting to see what thoroughly inappropriate gifts mine are going to be given - my Granny has a knack for finding the most unchildfriendly toys possible.
So Wilkie has broadband?? Excellent. Where is she then? It's not like she has anything else to do right now (so long as a few days absence doesn't break the MN addiction!)
Well we went to ILs yesterday and mil was on supremely irritating form. Dh's middle bro and his wife and 8m old were down for the weekend and the favouritism was painful. Bil has always been a bit the favourite, and I can see how it's happened - he became very unwell as a toddler, mil had been worried for ages, docs kept telling her she was over-anxious (mind, I can see where they would have been coming from!), until bil became serously unwell, admitted to hospital, PILs were told he had cancer and not long to live . Completely wrong (obviously) but the whole experience obvously was horrific and I think bil's been kind of over-protected ever since.
But ffs. I had to work for a few hours on friday, so (far be it for dh to actually cope with the boys on his own ) he decided he'd take them to his parents. His mum said she didn't want them because they might frighten the baby . Grudgingly allowed us over yesterday evening, but spent the whole evening making snidey comments. I know I'm a bit biased, but I do really try to give her the benefit of the doubt (honest!) but it was just so many stupid little things. Well at least my boys aren't pug ugly [petty] Happy easter.

Lizzzombie · 23/03/2008 10:20

2Happy - your MIL sounds a nightmare. Poor you. Just keep telling yourself she is jealous of your youth and beauty.
Eah - your life is not un-exctiting. It doesnt have time to be that. It totally impresses me how you are always doing thing. (makes me feel a bit guilty!) In fact, I am sat here on MN when I am supposed to be spring cleaning my house on my last child free day, and I know if you were me you would have sprung out of bed and been half way through by now. When all I've done is put the washing machine on, and tried to choose which cds will keep me going the longest (am thinking a bit of Blu Cantrell or Madonna - y'know strong women kind of stuff).
Anyway - just wanted to say you are an inspiration to me and reading your posts makes me get up off my arse and do things. > - my fat arse emotion!

I didnt get an easter egg off DP he gave me beer money for my night out on friday instead! So will now have to go and nibble on the easter bunny my mum gave DJ! (bad mother!) - the night garden chocolate eggs I got him are not to my taste!

Hope you all have a good day xxx

Lizzzombie · 23/03/2008 10:28

ps - do I get the bargain of the week prize for this...

Dolcis closing down sale (in which I could have gone truly mad) I got some sheepskin (ug style) boots were £35 NOW £8 !! Can't imagine who would pay full price for them as they are not real sheepskin. But hey £8 I don't mind paying for them!

PCF - if you are around, they had TONS of bridal wedding type shoes for sale for £6!!!!

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 23/03/2008 10:51

Am speed reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next door have kindly allowed me to hijack their broadband until ours is sorted (about 14 days).

Move went well - was tough going. J being a pain in the ass at the mo - he's teething and screams when I leave the room - DH digruntled.

Hope everyone OK. Have only got internet for an hour as neighbour unplugs it when she's not using it so my postings may be sporadic.

Because we have left Virgin, does this mean my ntlworld email add will have been wiped out. Am unable to pick them up??

If so, Loosh, text me. Will set up hotmail account to keep us going.

xxxx

eandh · 23/03/2008 11:17

Lizz -PMSL at your post, i'd just refreshed page as I am cleaningand cam to the unit where I put laptop and saw your post Have done downstairs and now working upwards

Hope Madonna/Blu getting you moving (I love it if no dd's or dh and I have MTV Base on very loudly with the surround sound its fab!!)

Musnt loiter as only have an hour till need to get ready to go to IL's

2happy - same situation with my IL's blatent favourtism of neice/nephew but they are buying us a new washing machine (mine playing up again) so dont care at the mo obviously the 2happy boys are far to handsome and she doesnt want them there as they show other grandson up

Lizzzombie · 23/03/2008 11:54

Wilkie! Congratulations on your move! Hope you are all settled in asap. x

Eah - ROFL at thoughts of you booty shaing it round your house to MTV base with marigolds & slippers on!!!

Have thoroughly done DJ's room and just started the bathroom. I took the front off the free standing fan we have in his room (it gets quite hot) HOW filthy do fan blades get!! yuk!

Lizzzombie · 23/03/2008 11:55

I meant to type booty shaking.

vinojaune · 23/03/2008 15:52

Lizz I cleaned the extractor fan in our bathroom today, noticed it was dirty a week or so after we moved in and has taken me til now to actually do it. It took a minute or so....must do the one in the ensuite now.

E&H I have done 1st ceiling coat on bathroom and ensuite today. 2nd coat once E in bed. DH has been filling holes in the walls (there were a lot) and putting new bathroom cabinet together and onto wall, then took it off again ready to paint). So we will finish bathroom which is half tiled so just half to paint, then ensuite, kitchen, lounge and our bedroom are on the plan for the this week. Next weekend Ellen is staying at my mums Fri and Sat as well as her usual Sun so we will do her room then. WE are out for the day tomorrow and only planning to paint tues and weds all day cos E at nursery, then thurs night once E in bed. I think we will get it all done. WE WILL GET IT ALL DONE!

DH dad is an upholsterer and made our sofas. He is going to recover and alter them so instead of having 2x2 seaters we will have an L shape to fit the lounge that is made up of a 3 and a 2 plus a corner bit. I can't wait, but will prob have to wait quite a while.

Wilkie - heeeellllloooooo!

E got 2 buttons eggs, a pkt of choc bunnies, some socks and a t-shirt.

It had snowed overnight here so we had E out in the garden with a snowman after breakfast. I was outside at 6am taking pics of the snow before any car or footprints messed it up. Sad I know but I like to have pics to remember what it was like.

Made some delish scones today and got clotted cream too so am pigging out.

Lizzzombie · 23/03/2008 19:57

vino - I want snow! We had bit of sleet but that was it.

I am sooooooooo knackered now! I have still got 2 cupboards in the kitchen to do and the kitchen floor. Then a pile of ironing. May have to leave the ironing till tomorrow. Not sure that I have the energy tonight!

My house is so spick and span though! I may have to keep DJ in his cot for the rest of the week so I can enjoy it like this a bit longer! x

looshkin · 24/03/2008 08:34

Morning all,

Wilkie - how are you??? I tried to email but got sent back 2H has my mobile number or can anyone let me have Wilkie's - [email protected]. Hope you are getting settled, I can sympathise with the teething he has ben crying for 4 days now the poor little lamb all his gums are swollen.

Vino - well done on the home improvments we are soo behind it is untrue, it sounds like if you sit down in the vino household you will get at least a basecoat . We desperatley need to paint downstairs due to cat - magpie battle several months ago very nasty.

Lizz hope you are enjoying the weekend and have had ridiculous lie-ins. lol re stong women to keep you going

eandh - sorry to hear about the freezer it is just hassle you don't need especially being the busiest person in the western hemisphere. Any news re refund? I can sometimes be found admiring our new freezer as it is frost free so no more hairdryer and chisle . Unfortunatley it is too big under the counter so cannot get cutlery draw open properly, slight slip of the tapemeasure.

LTH - how are your troops - hope the illnesses have not spread.

2H - I remember once you said you would rather eat nettles than spend time with your mil. I remember all that stuff over the wedding . How does dh feel about it all or does he not notice? Dh's brother and wife have had a major bust up with mil/pil over dh's (mine that is) and his CMV as sil is pregnant. I feel very responsible for it all but I could not in all conscious not tell them. We are waiting for their blood tests to come through to see if they are immune to it. To cap it off sil has started with the hyperemesis so feeling blooming awful.

Right well we are off to the farm today - more for my benefit as LOVE feeding the animals except the lama which spat at me last time. There are also rabbits and guinea pigs to cuddle and goats to chase (and hopefully some chickens) - can you tell I did not have any pets as a kid . When we go to our local farm shop I like to 'accidentally' let a couple of chickens out so I can out them back - really do need to get a life between this and the knitting I think there is no hope. By the way I have looked closely at the pattern and I have to also knit the beards on the kings!!!! Dh is feeling OK and he sees the consultant tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Have lovley bank holiday everyone

Loosh

eandh · 24/03/2008 09:31

Morning

Loosh just emailed you wilkies mobile and her new email address. Yes I can get the difference refunded and an additional 10% of difference, got to got to Comets later as washing machine is knackered sort of works randomly so will sort refund and get new washing machine (taking MIL to PC world first to sort her new laptop and then onto Comets and PIL paying for new washing machine ) Hope you have a lovely day at farm

Ellie going to my brothers this morning as she'll wreck the display in pcworld have more fun there, future SIL working so my brother has nephew and Ellie will occupy him for a bit. Hattie coming with us but is knackered after getting up at 5.45 (again) so she'll be asleep in buggy.

Lizz - Cage DJ into his cot and just feed him through the bars (making sure he doesnt get crumbs anywhere)

Vino - wow thats lots to do, but it'll be lovely to sit back in a few weeks knowing its done

I need to go and collapse the 2 back seats in car (havent done it before but am sure its easy ) so that the washing machine will fit in there (next to Hattie in her car seat so am hoping it'll fit)

2HappyEaster · 24/03/2008 20:12

Lizz - enjoy your lovely tidy house for the five minutes until ds trashes --the joint
eandh - hope you got through PC world and Comet unscathed
Loosh - how can your bil and sil be angry about the CMV?? Anxious, yes; angry? It's not MrLoosh's fault, he's been f*cking unwell, he didn't ask for it, and he would have had no idea he had it. He is not responsible. They are being very unreasonable IMO. dh was pretty quiet when we got back from ILs, I asked him what was up, he said nothing. Either he was being a bloke watching tv, or he had noticed but didn't want to talk about it. Maybe they're just being protective, though. It's not that long ago he was telling them he was feeling really stressed. I had some shit at work, didn't cope with it brilliantly, being me I just kind of withdrew instead of telling dh what was up, he felt crap because he was busy at work and wanted to be home with me, but ended up crying on his parents' shoulders. Maybe that resurrected the 'she's not good enough' feelings. i dunno. He's about to come in, must go.

ReggieegeeGrandNational · 25/03/2008 08:37

Hope you all had good Easters - some better than others by the sound of it.

Loosh - your bil/sil are being very unreasonable. Hope your dh is not too stressed by it all.

2H - your il's sound like a dream . Glad you survived!

EAH - hope your kitchen white goods are all installed and working well today!

Vino - hope you got some rest this weekend. Doesn't sound like it though.

Lizz - sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I adore family Reggiee but I am very antisocial independent and really like time alone.
Today I have a bonus day off work (office doesn't open until tomorrow) but dh is at work and lo at nursery. So I have surface tidied, washing machine on, dishwasher on, filed away a month's worth of paperwork, sorted lo clothes and put away those too small for her, and am currently watching a backlog of Coronation Street's - on the fourth episode of the morning . Am heading to town later (really need some clothes but just can't find anything) then picking lo up from nursery as dh working off site.

LTH is G better? Hope his cough didn't get owrse.

Wilkie - how's the unpacking? Are you done and getting settled?

Had a nice Easter but didn't do much. Mum wasover on Thurs night, and pil came over yesterday. All fussed over lo who lapped it up! Her walking is coming along now and yesterday she mastered comingdown the stairs.

laughalot · 25/03/2008 10:33

I had lost the thread glad I found you all iI shall post later

JodieG1 · 25/03/2008 15:48

Ahh I keep losing the threads! I'm not intentionally ignoring you all here, I get the idea to post and then ones of the dc's comes over and I forget!

I'll skim through for a quick catch up shortly but am currentely dealing with dd and ds1 who are both ill AGAIN! They have temps of 104, bad coughs, feel ill and have been sick. Ethan seems just fine thankfully, maybe as I'm still bf him? Who knows, just glad he isn't ill too.

We've barely got over the horrible d&v bug we had a few weeks ago. I really hate being sick and managed it twice then, I'm bordering on phobic about it as I find dealing with any sick very difficult too.

UD - have you got the book back yet? It was posted so please let me know.

Hope everyone is well.

eandh · 25/03/2008 18:47

WAshing machine plumbed inand is fab

apart from that nothing happening here - hattie consistently whingy and sticking her fingers in mouth and gagging (think its teeth) she has developed few funny things now if I say we are going out she runs to get her coat and shoes and grins at me, if I am undressing her and say 'arms up' she does it plus she has just started saying 'wasthat'(whats that) and pointing or points at things and says 'ook' (look) ellie been teaching her where things are on her body (keeps them both quiten for short spells) so if you say tummy she rubs it and if you say nose she squishes her finger on it, dont remember ellie picking things up this early but Isuppose she is with Ellie most of the day so must rub off

Shimmer · 25/03/2008 21:51

Eah that's so funny, F does 'armsup' as well and he knows quite a few body parts too. He's actually a bit obsessed with tummys and belly buttons at the moment and comes up to me or DP all the time and lifts our Tshirts up and sticks his finger in our belly buttons and laughs! I just hope he doesn't start doing it to strangers

RGee I am truly amazed that you could have done all those things and be on the 4th episode of Corrie at 8:37 in the morning!! I'm usally just about managing to stagger out of bed around then (F has been waking up between 8:30-9 for about the last month now!)

Hope you're settling in alright Wilkie x

eandh · 26/03/2008 08:39

Shimmer hattie wakes between 5.30 and 6 every day and Ellie between 6 and 7, am hoping with the clocks going forward this weekend it may adjust to 6.30ish

PMSL at the belly button thing I can remember godson being very interested in belly buttons and found mine hilarious when I was 8 months preganant with Ellie as it has popped out!

vinojaune · 26/03/2008 16:56

Ellen is also fascinated with tummy buttons, also wth DH chest hair. The other day he had to stop her becasue she put her hand down his trousers! She'd lifted up his t-shirt to find his tummy button then moved her hand the other way. I dread to think what nursery would say tome if she did that to anyone there. Yesterday she'd had a tantrum at nursery cos she'd slapped someone in the face and been made to sit down instead of playing.

Painting is going well. Kitchen looks so much cleaner for a new coat of paint and we are loving the colour 'sandstone' of the lounge but it still needs another coat. After this evening we have 2 days off painting as we are spendng them with E. Off to The Deep in Hull on Friday as a friend went with her lo and he loved it. E likes animals sohoping she likes fish etc. I think I will quite like it too.

e&H - E wakes at the same time as Hattie btu has started chatting to herself rather than crying straight away which means we are not discturbed til 6.30 at the mo which seems GREAT!

Been listening to radio 5 phone in this morning as I painted, all about the new guidelines for drinking in pregnancy. I felt like ringing in to say that I had a few drinks both times (in fact think I was abit tipsy on FRiday after 1 glass - eek) and that I was currently standing on a ladder painting. I did nearly fall off the ladder when a caller said she had drunk a bottle of whisky a day when pregnant though!!!

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 26/03/2008 17:02

Well I have had a shit day. Got up this morning to find that our car had been broken into and the sat nav nicked. Am so and the shitbags around here. Then the bin men refused to take our bin that is overflowing because it had something in the recycling bin that shouldn't have been there. Then I had to go and get the car window fixed, as I walked down the road to the garage a lorry drive past, through a puddle and covered me in dirty water. It sounds funny but I am f*cking fed up and to top it all off have had a migraine all day.

Met up with a lovely MNer who lives here too, she was so nice so that was the highlight of a shite day.

EAH - J does the 'armsup' thing too. He can point to his tummy, nose, head and mouth. He does the actions to 'Round and round the garden, like a teddy bear...' too. I love watching him develop every day. It really is cute.

ALthough he is a PITA with clinging to me still and screaming if I leave the room.

Vino - thank you for the card. How are you getting on with the pg? Did you get my email to say I can't do the 18th?

ReggieegeeGrandNational · 26/03/2008 18:06

Aww Wilkie ((hugs)). Someone was in our car a few weeks ago, but dh had left the doors unlocked overnight . They only took a bag of change (a couple of quid for parking) from the glove compartment. It is so easy to leave satnav, stereos etc in cars. Although they hardly touched the car, I still felt like scrubbing it. How's your migraine?

Vino - really looking forward to hearing about the Deep. The ds of a friend of mine (age 7) went on an overnight camp there with his scout group - sounded great!
Hope you're not overdoing it with the painting. A bottle of whisky a day .

Wilkie / Vino - any suggestions re a new meet up date? I can still do the 18th btw Vino, but am happy either way.

Eah - P wakes between 6 and 7, and is in bed by 5.30 - 6 in the evening. We get up at 6 during the week and I am at work by 7.30 so it doesn't really bother us. So long as she doesn't throw bear out of the cot, she's generally happy to play, especially as we've put a couple of books within easy reach. Must not forget about the clocks though!

Shimmer pmsl at belly button. I generally watch Corrie on sky+ now as the actual programme is only 20mins long max, so I can skip all the ads!

Hi Jodie!

Hey Lal - how much later were you coming back

Anyone really looking forward to The Apprentice back on tv tonight? Can't wait!
