Great photos LL thanks for those, haven't they all grown up so quickly!

Far to windy here tonight, one sunflower has snapped clean in two, sob....was a really good one as well, thick stem and climbing well.....damn wind......

laundrylover · 19/06/2009 16:11

The storm was in Bradford but then came down here - I just got back in time to rescue DP and kids from school pick up before the heavens opened. On the m'way my SatNav was telling me turn off but i couldn't even see the slip road!!

Astro sent me some lovely pics back - did you get them Friz? If not will forward.

My sunflowers are 4 inches high still.

What crappy weather we are having eh?

I've been knocked out by migraine drugs all week and just emerging....off to work in london for the day tomorrow - 7.23am train but have 1st class cheapy seat.

Frizbe · 19/06/2009 22:27

That time on a sat am surely it doesn't exist!!
Are you all going down, or is it work....

Horrible weather, so windy here again today...

I don't think I've got any photos? might have to go back to msn to check though!

Astrophe · 20/06/2009 07:25

LL - please do forward the photos! I couldn't find Friz's address - do I have it Friz? Is it on your info on facebook (actually, you may have seen some of them on FB anyway).

Crummy weather here too (although it is winter here, so we have an excuse )

Today we went to a kiddies ballet concert at the Opera House - it was brilliant - dancers were right up close, orchestra up close, and the musicians came and showed the kids their instruments - DD very impressed with cello especially, and DS impressed by male ballet dancer who was "so strong he could pick up the lady dancer". He then expressed confidence that Daddy could do similar to Mummy! ...I think not!

DD has absolutely taken off on her new bike. She has riden it maybe 5 times now, and can ride 50 metres or so - no stabilisers! I am so impressed with the balance bike's good work! I bet your DS will take off too Uni. Tried DS on DD's bike (16 inch wheels), and he is actually not bad, although really too small to control the steering, and legs too short...I'd say he'll be ready for one by christmas though.

DH got rejected for the job he interviewed for 4 weeks ago (and is disapointed, as it sounded very interesting), but they did say he interviewed really well, and it just came down to others being older with more experience. He had an interview last week, they have called his referees, so hopefully we hear good news next week on that one. He also has an interview for another company next week...so a few things on the boil at least.

Massive baby is hurting me - SPD getting worse and sore hips keeping me awake at night 4.5 weeks until due date

Frizbe · 22/06/2009 09:21

Astro you have my msn one I think? will check and re send later if not!

Yay for opera thing, sounds great and boo for no job so far, but calls to referee's sounds good, so fingers x'd.

Heard from my mates in NZ on Friday, they're fingers x'd at the moment, as his job that was main reason they emigrated is hanging in balance, as 3 big tenders out at that co and if they don't get them, last in first out will probably occur...... so hoping all works out for them......

Sorry gotta dash off to body combat, need to work of Friday nights wine! laters girls.

Astrophe · 22/06/2009 09:46

DH got the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

laundrylover · 23/06/2009 17:14

Astro, I'm so pleased for you and your DH

What timing tho! He'll have to take paternity leave as soon as he starts!!!

OP posts:
Astrophe · 24/06/2009 12:52

I know - what timing! Not sure yet whether he will start or wait until bub arrives (which will put a lot of pressure on her not to be late!). DH got the contract yesterday and has a week to read and sign, so after that he will talk start dates. So happy - its not his dream job, but looks resonably interesting and is well paid. Hurrah! Downside is that its 40-60 minutes drive, or 2 hours by train and bus, so we will need to quickly buy a second car (and then move closer...but we will wait until baby has arrived now as 4 weeks is not long enough to choose new suburb, choose and rent house, get all our stuff from various storage locations, buy furniture and appliances etc...).

Frizbe · 24/06/2009 20:48

that's great news Astro hurrah!! very happy for you all, its all falling into place
So do we get to start new house hunting with you then what areas do you have in mind?
Can't believe its only a few weeks till dd2 turns up where's all the time going?

All good here, bar dd2 randomly weeing all over her duvet at about 5pm, when she went upstairs to get a toy....mummy I've wee'd...and yes, I had just changed the bedding this am......grrrrrrr

UniS · 27/06/2009 10:29

check the profile for a new pic of boy.

His new bike ( Isla bikes Cnoc14) is in the garrage ready to go. We will let him loose this afternoon... He had a go on one last weekend and was pretty much there with it straight away, those balance bikes really do provide a good foundation.

We are now back from hols. Boy entered his first bike race and came 3rd in the under 6s balance bike class. In the general kids have ago races he was the only on in his heat as he was the only one on a balance bike - it WAS raining quite lot so not many kids wanting to race.
We also found a 2nd hand Tandem we bought. New tent behaved prefertly. no drips, lots of space etc.

Nephews and neices enjoyed their first day at the seaside . Much ice cream was eaten, much paddling ans swimming done. Plus a boat trip which we got a massive discount on as it was a dull day and boat not very full. just paid for the 4 adults, 7 kids went free.

Frizbe · 27/06/2009 15:10

OMG Uni, he's looking so grown up too I guess I really shouldn't be so surprised at all our grown up kids, as mine is going that way too, but I am! I think I'm still thinking of them as babies, as dd2 here is being a right pita at the moment, keeps doing annoying things like fighting with sister a lot, purposefully testing boundaries, yesterday removed baby toilet seat and then got poo and wee everywhere I know its only a phase, but like all good parents I prefer the nice ones!

Frizbe · 27/06/2009 15:11

Sorry hit post before I'd finished. Glad you had a nice hols Uni, which seaside resort did you go to? sorry can't remember! was it with your sister?

laundrylover · 01/07/2009 23:35

Uni, he's so grown up and sooo blond still. Lovely picture.

Kiah had a trial at pre school today and insisted on wearing her big sister's uniform. DP said she was the only child in uniform - what a swot! I'll have to email you the pics - maybe I should set up a profile. I did get some pics onto facebook last week and even posted some work ones onto Flickr but they haven't appeared yet....not bad for an old technophobe eh.

RL too busy to MN much but keep checking to see what you're all up to. Going to Scotland on Aug 2nd so might make it up there before sis's baby arrives....she's having a home birth so we all might end up watching!! Not so different from seeing calves born for my girls I guess?

OP posts:
Astrophe · 02/07/2009 12:05

lovely pic Uni

Friz, our big 3 year old is testing boundaries as well - was in a real strop all day today and tantrumed about all sorts...where has my sweet compliant boy gone!?

Kids are getting very excited about baby's impending arrival. We have just next week at Kindy, and then holidays for 2 weeks...kids enrolled in sports and swimming programs that my Mum is set to take them to if we can't make it - I'm glad we have some things to keep us busy and keep the kids distracted.

DH stsrats new job on Monday! Very exciting, and pretty danuting for us both - he hasn't worked in a year now, and I haven't had the kids much by myself, let alone at 37 weeks preggers! Eeek! We will muddle through - I feel lots of 'late to kindy' days coming on!

saw the MW yesterdayt and she said the words "so big" 4 times before I asked her to stop!

Do post pics LL! Although didn't realise you were on FB, so I will look for you there too.

Frizbe · 02/07/2009 20:57

Not much different to seeing calves born, rofl maybe just a teeny bit different, let me think 'mummy, what is Auntie * saying all those naughty words! and screaming a lot.......of course if she has a pool to go in, then it will be lovely
Good luck with it all and enjoy anyway!

Astro, so excited for you all, lots happening at once
Good plan getting the kids into lots of clubs over the holidays, give you a bit of time with no3

Have been busy here with work and our new kitten little boy called Loki, and yes he is living upto his name! photo on facebook soon

laundrylover · 02/07/2009 21:48

Sis going into hospital with contractions . She is 35 weeks. Bit worried.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 03/07/2009 00:51

hugs and praying for your sis LL...35 weeks is not too early huh...? Hope all is well - keep us posted.

Loki is very cute Friz!

laundrylover · 03/07/2009 15:16

Sis is home after a night in hospital. She had steroid injection and then contractions died down. She texted this morning to say that she was waiting to see a doc, get a jab and be sent home - not heard from her since!!! Haven't bothered her in case she's sleeping but think I'll give her a ring....

OP posts:
Frizbe · 03/07/2009 22:15

Oooh hope she's ok LL, like Astro says 35 weeks not too early, but two more weeks wouldn't hurt.....

he is a wee bit eh Astro! he's asleep on sofa next to dh at the mo (was next to me too, but I've wondered over to laptop on table!)

UniS · 05/07/2009 22:01

helllo. hope all goes OK with 35 weeker.
Boy VV tired after lots of cycling. DHtook up up to the wood and some MTB trails yesterday, after their first 2.5 mile loop boy wanted " more daddy" so they did a 1.5 mile loop as well. Flakey tired boy today, who still wanted to ride his bike lots...
So we took it with us to cricket club and let him loose. He did spend teh mornng watching videos in an attempt to keep him firly still for a wee while.

STill no house to move into, a couple of possible to go and look at next week tho, including one to rent.

Frizbe · 06/07/2009 21:58

Fingers x'd you find a suitable house soon Uni, great to here that ds is going great guns with his biking
dd2 was quizing me about her bike today, as I've not been letting her use it, till dd1 gets a new bike (as its dd1's old bike and they just break into a huge squabble even though dd1 is too big for it now...) I promised her I'd sort dd1's new bike next week, so we can go cycling the weekend after!

UniS · 09/07/2009 11:53

phew- boy and I looked at5 houses , a pre school and a big school yesterday. He managed to behave pretty well. Had an ice cream as a reward half way through teh ordeal, and lots of snack.

saw 2 to buy that are just wrong for us and very pokey and tiny. 3 to rent, any of which we could live in but might rattle about in a bit as all rather large. No happy medium in that village it seems.

Frizbe · 09/07/2009 19:35

that's a shame Uni, do you think you could rent and rattle?

UniS · 09/07/2009 20:54

looking like we will rent and rattle. Will be able to invite far flung family to stay easily I guess. Maybe Dh will have a 40th party after all.
The biggest of teh rent and rattles is actully up for sale as well, but about 100k over our budget.

Frizbe · 10/07/2009 18:22

Uni, rent it for a while then and if it doesn't sell, talk them down!

dd1 got sent home from school this avo....has developed from poorly tummy into squits....dh is away larping, I've had to run round getting staff sorted to cover me and go get her, why does it always happen when he's away?!!! as luck would have it (for Meridian), Meris son was being poorly too, so I took him home en route, as she has no car!
