welcome back tsb (you asked about bumps....mine is due in 8 weeks )

Well, news is DH has some IT work, which he doesn't really like. 'Tis something, but I'm finding it hard to feel appreciative of it as the hours ar eall over the place (ie, whenever the boss rings), and he has to drive all over sydney, and its paid on comission, and DH is still out doing jobs at 9pm, so I am doing bedtimes etc on my own or with my parents interfering, and with such back/pelvic pain that walking hurts.

Feeling very sorry for myself as you can see

Saw the MW today - was a bit worried as I'd been having period type cramps and heaviness last two days, but she said everything is fine, and the crampy feeling was just baby getting her head down...so thats a very good thing.

Rainy rainy weather here, to match my mood.

Cadmum · 27/05/2009 15:35

Oh Astro... I am sorry that things are not going to plan.

I really hate it when I am on my own with our brood and I seldom have to factor in my parents. I hope it all changes soon but in the mean time try and keep your chin up.

Only 8 weeks until you meet your beautiful new daughter... I am almost . I shall enjoy living vicariously through you though.

Quick hello to everyone else. I am supposed to be doing housework but I am seriously laking inspiration!

Frizbe · 27/05/2009 15:57

Astro {{{Big Hugs}}} those last 8 weeks are when things can really start to get you down eh, tell baby Astro to hang on for a few weeks yet! Yay for dh's work, but boo that it's pants hours, but hopefully now that he's got a job, another will be along in a week or two and he can pick and choose his work (fingers x'd) You're welcome to moan at us anytime, that's what we're here for

Caddy, I know what you mean about house work I swear my brain went on holiday yesterday, only it needs to stay on the job for another 3 days.....the excitement is building with the girls as well, they'll pop by the time they get on the plane....

Cadmum · 27/05/2009 20:16

I wish that I was going to Nice...I hope you have fabulous weather!

We are going camping in Interlaken so I will not complain. It is only 2 hours from our door but feels like an entirely different world.

Don't worry too much about the housework. It will wait (and I should know)!

I must tackle some of the housework now that the dcs are in bed but I don't want to.

Frizbe · 27/05/2009 22:45

Thanks Caddy, make sure you have a great time too

Two days at work to go! drums fingers impatiently!

UniS · 27/05/2009 23:05

ohh, campoing at Interlaken, nice place. I have fond memories from holidays as a kid, swimming in one of teh lakes, and going on lake steamers. Took boy up teh funicular from town to their local mountain when he was just 4 months old. had a nice pigeon german chat with 2 old ladies about my bald baby.

UniS · 27/05/2009 23:06

CAMPING. sorry for worse than normal typo.

Frizbe · 28/05/2009 09:22

Have not been to Interlaken, but will add it to my list of places to go I have total fidgits now, can't wait to go! the kids are worse than me too, argh....
Twiddling my thumbs waiting for childcare to get here (Grandma) so I can get into work, lots to do,so little time.....

Cadmum · 28/05/2009 10:23

You are only allowed to go to Interlaken if you come here too!

This is where we live: www.dpeck.info/nyon1.htm

NOT MY site but I like the photos..

Frizbe · 28/05/2009 23:10

Wow Caddy your town looks lovely its defo on my places to visit
I'm loving google, have just looked up payage (SP) totals, the nearest carrefour and speedcameras on route! The girls were up till 9.30 tonight far too excited...

Frizbe · 29/05/2009 13:36

Right last pop on here I think for a week or so, have fun without me girls

Cadmum · 29/05/2009 16:30

Have a GREAT time Friz. Drive safely!

UniS · 30/05/2009 21:10

Picture me if you will , blue T-shirt and not quite so red arms as yesterday, putting up my NEW tent for teh first time . We took it to teh rec ground as not enough grass in our garden with out a tree. Didn;t use teh rec ground near here tho. We were veiwing a couiple of possible new to us houses so took a picnic and spent a while at "village under dartmoor" rec ground.

Have seen a V nice house- bit big but not so bad that we would rattle. but over priced. and according to teh agent they have turned down a couple of offers as " not enough££" , so much to ponder.
We accepted an offer on here during teh week. now finger crossed it all works out, have been here before with this house and buyer pulled out after months of faffing.
It would be nice to know where to try and get boy preschool sessions for september BEFORE teh summer hols start.

Astrophe · 31/05/2009 10:47

Hope you got enough housework done to ease any guilt and allow you to sit back and relax now Caddy

I agree that Interlacken is lovely - we just loved Switzerland.

Uni - tent sounds great, and CONGRATS on the offer on the house! Fingers crossed for you that it all runs smoothly from here.

Feeling knackered and dozy here - had a long sleep in while DH took the kids and went to church, then picked up a few things for baby - socks and vests - that we didn't keep after we had DS.

Wrapping DD's birthday pressies, making pinata, birthday cake and fairy cakes for Kindy are the tasks for the week DD is extremely excited (read "badly behaved"!).

UniS · 02/06/2009 22:06

Oh ehck- thats what I firgot to get at shop. Wrapping paper. need to wrap nephews pressie before monday. ponders- when am I going to town again? do I have tooo.

Waves to all.
Had another offer on house today! slightly higher, but we are going to do teh decent thing and stick with eth one we accepted first.

Frizbe · 07/06/2009 12:55

Uni that's great news about the house, hurrah for the market finally getting into gear, and if anything goes wrong, you have another buyer too!! fingers x'd for the house you're looking at.

Waves at Astro, Caddy and LL, and anyone else out there who still reads this!

Had a lovely time, though am now debating how much Keycamp caravan will cost next year, as wasn't a sole siblu site, so got to see better vans from other companies Eurocamp and Keycamp seemed better, but they could be lots more expensive! Had lovely time and will be going back to same site, highly recommend it. Takes touring tents too, so if any of you need a place to stop off can recommend it! Major plus was sloping pools, so no random out of depthness for kids and lots of great play parks on site too was that good, we didn't use a kids club once even! (there was more than one too!) Also for those of you still debating cars out there, have spent week whizzing round in lovely Toyota Corrola Verso and WANT ONE! got back into the Picasso, put my foot down and went nowhere Toyota has soo much more vavooom! (and probably costs so much more to buy too as a down side....)

Anyway have converted dh to liking France (he's not been much of a traveller till I got my mits on him, so approches everywhere with trepidation, till I show him the locals are friendly, tis a constant source of amusement to me) I think it comes from him being scared about not speaking the language, so feels out of his depth, but me, well I'm just a wade straight in kinda girl SS has picked up a Parisian email buddy, which is nice, they spent the week doing sign language to each other, as neither spoke the others language, with his mum and myself doing pidgeon translations!

Astrophe · 07/06/2009 15:01

Sounds WONDERFUL FRiz! Hope you don't have post-holiday blues now!

DDs flower party went well and she loved her bike! We took the stabilisers off before she saw them, and hope she will get the hang of it quickly, having had more than a year with balance bike...we shall see! Off to the park for a picnic and bike ride tomorrow.

Flower party went well - I';; pop a pic on profile now...

Frizbe · 08/06/2009 18:30

Aww lovely photos Astro dd1 especially likes the cake! glad you enjoyed the day.

Possbily slight post holiday blues! seeing as it belted it down with rain here all day yesterday, sigh, british weather Been better today though, and dh and I went to the early morning screening of Star Trek today, which was fab 'geek'!

laundrylover · 11/06/2009 10:30

Phew just caught up with you all!

Astro - fab cake , good news about the job even if hours are a bit crap. My sis is moving out of her in-laws and into rented accomodation - all got too tetchy and she couldn't bear the thought of bringing the newborn there in a few weeks. You have my sympathies.

Uni - fab news about the house - fingers crossed....and pre school place too. It's all go down south!!

TSB - hello.....

Friz, hols sound great at sunshine.

Caddy - OK I want to visit you now.

So...hols were OK. It rained every day for the first week so we were stuck in alot of the time. Had a few ding dongs with sisters as expected. I was actually the best behaved all week. Went riding but was plod in the drizzle so not much cop. Camping on Arran with sis, BIL and baby was great. Sunshine til 10pm every day and fantastic island. Walking, biking etc. Seals and porpoises duly spotted. Our friends from home came up with their funky caravan and champagne as they are going to adopt an 18 month old little boy. Sooo pleased for them.

Anyway for your amusement where I live, check out our stylish community hall!! And for your entertainment hmmm, me and my friend being luvvies yesterday in Birmingham!!!

Astro thanks for the photos. Looks like a fabulous party. My dds would love such a beautiful cake!

LL: As with everyone on here, you are most welcome anytime! We live in a big house with a garden big enough for tents... (Having said that, our calendar is filling up for the next few weeks anyhow!)
I loved the photos of your community. The video is great. Well done for the playground and continuing projects!

Uni: Fabulous news about the house. Too bad about the better offer...

Friz: I hope the weather picks up and that you recover from the post-holiday-blues.

I am playing single-parent as dh is in New York for 10 days. The worst part is that friends descend on us for the weekend the day after he gets back. I really need to get some serious housework done. I don't even know where everyone will sleep. ARGH!!

dd2 has had a fever and sore belly off and on since Sunday afternoon so not much sleep around here either. All four monkeys currently sat in front of a DVD so I can catch up on emails (and MN).

Some MNers here want to meet-up. Not sure that I have the courage. Will have to give it some thought. (Pathetic, I know, but I rather like the anonymity of MN.)

laundrylover · 11/06/2009 15:59

Caddy, your DH will have to do the housework the minute he steps into the house before the guests arrive!

I have enjoyed the couple of times that I've met up with MNers although I was sceptical at first...give it some thought.

I don't envy you being home alone with the kids....I would go bonkers!

It was fun doing the video as Rebecca is a good friend of mine so we got all giggly. I do look like an over animated moronic puppet though - my friend told me that I am not like that in RL. Phew!

Better collect kids from friend's house I suppose....

Frizbe · 11/06/2009 23:23

great film LL, sorry to hear you had rain for 1st week of hols, tis pants, but for it cheering up the next week, sounds like you eventually had lots of fun Nice to see your local town film too, I'm sure that one of the streets was used in Royston Vasey non?? (serious, not pulling your leg)

Sorry to hear dh is away Caddy not fun being a single parent is it....agree with LL, make him help with the cleaning, although sure your visitors will understand if you're not all sorted out, 4 kids and no help is not fun.

Dd2 has been on a mega growth spurt here, seems bigger every time I look at her.

Ca n any of you help here, thinking Astro in particular, as she's done some of this trip recently!

laundrylover · 15/06/2009 22:35

Friz, know what you mean about your DD2...Kiah is ENORMOUS all of a sudden.

League of Gentlemen is filmed in Padfield and Hadfield except for the restaurant which is in Hollingworth where I went to school.

Was on the motorway during one of the massive thunderstorms today - scary stuff.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 16/06/2009 23:35

Ooooh you got a massive storm, how exciting they all skirted us, was really bizzare, we got the eye of the storm, with lots of menacing clouds all round us, have some great photos of the storm fronts though
