Ooooh don't ya just wish it'd stop raining! I've got Sunflowers I need to plant out! they'll not survive if I put them outside in the current weather/forecast for the next 4 days, sigh....

Yep more riding next week, have decided to get me a hobby that hopefully the girls may share in years to come! am toying with going to Chatsworth for the hoss show this weekend, kids go free, so might not be a bad idea, although forecast not good and it may pre empt rather a lot of 'I want a pony mummeeeeeeee'

I'll keep an eye out for that book LL, I'm reading Odd Thomas - Dean Koontz (SP) for the book group, plus, Twilight (from one of the girls at book group) plus a manga (also from book group as well!) should really get off here and get on with it!

Anyone out there bar me then?

laundrylover · 14/05/2009 13:16

I'm here Friz....went for a run and then back to one of the group's injured runners house for tea and cake! Got back at gone 12 so now have to cram some work in before pick up at 3pm. Oops!

Feeling super healthy as dragged DP to circuit training last night too - was good to go together so it's a shame that we can't get regular sitters. Resulted in a rare spot of sexercise later on too.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 14/05/2009 18:49

woooo hoooo LL got laid

I keep saying to dh I'll go running with him, now that he's/we're both taking Mondays off work, so we can have some us time, but so far he's used a variety of excuses to avoid exercise, however he has said he'll buy some kit this monday, so maybe when we get back off hols he'll do something????

I've been writing out training stuff for work all day, compiling a training manual for Sales Assistants, there's a surprising amount to go into it when you actually get started! plus tests, to ensure they actually pay attention to the training too. I'm going to crack on with it some more when kids in bed in a bit.....

UniS · 15/05/2009 11:37

helllo--- di dyou miss me?

HAd a bad case of in laws at the weekend. Anothe threrad I'm on kicked off a bit and I've been very remiss in not coming to find you lovely ladies. sorry.

BOy is having a LONNNNG lie in today. 11.30 and counting! we have a play date at 2 so I need to get him up some time and feed him a large brunch. He was very busy last few days and I think just needed to sleep it off. Hes been managing 10-11 hours awake for teh last week which is lot for him.

Pre school is going OK, a broad been was sent home yesterday- boy has been watering it daily at preschool, now it needs potting on. Will try and squeze it in teh green house for a week or two before it goes out to be slugged.

LOL at LL and knickers. nowt wrong with big knickers, for comfort if not sexyness.
We are going to teh county show next week. suspect we will do more oggling tractors than horses tho. Not taking MiL so don;t have to go and coo over goats.

laundrylover · 15/05/2009 21:18

Uni, we don't mind you abandoning us now and again! Welcome back.....11.30 lie in??!!

Tilly is just having a major tantrum. Took her to the local dance show so she could see her friends do some rubbish dancing. Then we got home and she has had a total meltdown. Just put a big cross through today on her sticker chart and she has missed the chance of going to an exhibition at The Lowry tomorrow that she has been looking forward to. Shame eh?

Must go and stop the screaming .

OP posts:
UniS · 15/05/2009 21:33

Please do stop the screaming, oh, you meant her screaming, not ours. ..

Boy woke at 11.55am back in bed at 7.30, asleep by 7.40. One tired little boy. He spent teh afternoon playing in a friend's garden with her two boys and a 4th boy. 2 x 3y/o 2x 2y/o they make a nice little group, the two 3 yr olds are getting on pretty well now and have been known to spontaneously share things!or co-operate in a game.

Frizbe · 15/05/2009 22:00

Hi Uni welcome back, sorry you had to endure the outlaws.
Glad to see boy doing some class sleeping in, 10/10 to him for managing such a long sleep, latest dd2 has slept is 8am!

LL for the tantrums, must be a week for it, meridian is getting some class ones out of her ds too (same age as ours) sorry she'll miss the gallery.

Off out to visit great gran here tomorrow, meeting my parents there, no doubt will end up at a garden centre, not a bad thing as I need grow bags for the tomatoes!

Had a cracking thunder storm earlier too, good lightening strikes on conductors in town, got the totty brigade out to wilkos over the road from our store, due to electrics getting blown!

Frizbe · 16/05/2009 19:08

Ok I'll talk to myself then!

Work internet is still fried from last nights lightening hit, waiting for bt to get it sorted out. Oh and took great gran out today to a garden centre and dd2 randomly did box splits in the middle of the place I had to quickly say to dd1, don't try that, as she'd just hurt herself whilst telling dd2 to get up off the floor and out of peoples way, even if they were cooing at her

UniS · 16/05/2009 19:33

LOL at your gymnast in teh garden centre. Take a look at my pics - with profile- for what Boy was tring on at tehgarden centre last weekend! its one of those mega garden centres with lots ofd added on bits selling random stuff... MiL was beside herself with joy over the sheer quantity of garden furniture they had on display. talking about hiring a van to buy stuff from here rather than nearer home...

Cricket fever has hit boy. I bought him a garden cricket set this afternoon and hes been inseperable from his new bat since. wanted to take it to bed. Just hope it a dry afternoon tomorrow and we can go to the cricket club, other wise Dh and I are in for a full day of living room cricket with a 3 yr old.

Frizbe · 16/05/2009 22:17

great picture uni
at mil, surely her local selection is not that different?
at boy, glad he's lovin the cricket. I used to love playing 'street' cricket with the kids off our block, in fact I said to dh, 'coor I could try and join them' when I heard there was a womens uk cricket team, who'd won the world championship, to which I got told I was far to busy already!! a girl can dream eh!

Astrophe · 17/05/2009 12:49

lovely pic uni

Nowt to report here...DS and I have yucky colds, so had a low key weekend, with a couple of park trips but nothing more, just lots of sleeping and Charlie and Lola watching.

Frizbe · 17/05/2009 20:12

for the yucky colds Astro, hope they shift soon.

Day spent chilling here and cooking stuff for rest of week/dinner. Attempted to do gardening and got rained on the second we all got out there, bah

UniS · 17/05/2009 20:56

Dhs cricket match rained off, but hes been offered one on thursday eve to add to his tuesday eve one. so I really should try and be a bit sociable with him tonight as I'll be out wed & sat evenings.
Boy and dh spent all morning playing indoor cricket, then we went to soft play barn for teh afternoon.
Its not looking promising for a meet up in June, our current plans take us way further north than you guys. Sorry.

Frizbe · 18/05/2009 09:18

Oh bah! Uni, well if you do get chance to catch us, then shout! failing that LL shall we aim for a meet in summer hols? If we do sculpture park, we could rope in Phoenix off feb thread too, (so we can coo at her new baby, which should be here by then), and I'm sure Meridian would join us, if you can do begining of Aug, Flame is coming up to stay too

laundrylover · 18/05/2009 14:28

Uni, love the pic. What a handsome chap he is. Shame about the meet up - was just going to nudge you about it as it was pencilled in my diary.

Friz - yes, beginning of Aug would be good as we might go up to Scotland soon after that. What dates is Flame up?

Anyone want to buy 2 family tickets for Latitude Festival? Have bought them and now we have a clash.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 18/05/2009 21:34

Think its 1st weekend till the Wed, will confirm.

Frizbe · 21/05/2009 21:06

Tis the 1st weekend, Phoenix should have sprogged by then too, so we can all coo over her new baby!! looks like Sculpture park it is, will confirm date later, ah there's the 1st flash of lightening.

laundrylover · 21/05/2009 22:34

I'll put it in my diary then...give me a nudge in a couple of weeks though.

Madly packing so we can get a good start to Scotland tomorrow. One week at Ardfern in a house with my entire family and then 4 nights camping on Arran to recover.

Catch you all in a couple of weeks...don't do too much online chatting for me to catch up with and no big annoucements please!

LL

xx

Have a GREAT time LL Hope the weather is good.

Frizbe · 23/05/2009 21:43

Hope you have a lovely time LL (even though you won't read this till you get back!)

Cadmum · 24/05/2009 22:19

Hello all,

We are back from Croatia. The coast was lovely but the tour of Slavonia where DH was peacekeeping in 1992 was very depressing. Very little reconstruction and most of the original damage is clearly visible.

All in all, it was a fabulous family holiday with camping on either side of 4 nights in an apartment on the Adriatic. We swam nearly everyday (though sometimes indoors) and generally had a great time together.

I am digging my way out from under laundry mountain and I will catch up with the posts on here momentarily.

Cadmum · 24/05/2009 22:26

LL: I suppose that I must have already missed you but if not, have a wonderful time. Camping sounds like the perfect ending to a vacation with all the family!

I wish I could come to a meet up in August. We have friends over from Canada for the first two weeks in August so a non-starter for this meet-up as well.

Uni: Your photo of DS is very sweet. He is very handsome indeed. Great news about the cricket as well.

Astro: Sorry about the colds. Hope it passes quickly. Thank heavens for DVDs on the rotten days, eh?

Friz: Your weather sounds generally uncooperative! I think that you ought to try out for the women's cricket and I'm seriously impressed with the riding. Go Girl!

thesouthsbelle · 25/05/2009 16:22

ooh there's a meet up in august - who what were when???

Hi all, am back again after what feels like a life time, the road and clouds have shifted so everything is finally clear(er!)

DS is getting on well, is cheeky but full of character, home life is good, studying is good, job is good!

so what's happening here then, do we have any new bumps/babies in the group yet?

(spandex/dtm/munz!)

UniS · 25/05/2009 16:38

Hello all, welcome back TSB , makes you sound like a bank, hummm, maybe SBelle would be better as a shorterned version.

V sorry about having to cry off a june meet up. Longish story. Dh has decided he wants to do a LONG BIKE RIDE at teh start of our holiday which means we don;t go north so soon, so are cutting out a vist to buxton as otherwise can;t fit in family who have just moved to Uk or an old friend who has been away for nearly a year and is under stringent conditions on where he can be for next few months. Both of whom are a lot further north.

DH currently reading Mr Noisey to boy... VERY LOUDLY.

Frizbe · 25/05/2009 16:41

Hi TSB, glad you finally found us (She ended up on the Feb thread eh!)

We're trying to have a meet at the Sculpture park in wakefield in early Aug, mix of mnetters really, but hopefully LL and I will be there. You're welcome of course, but understand it could be a tad far, however if I make it down to Bournemouth to visit Flame during hols, then I'll shout and we can try to do something?

Caddy your hols sound lovely, shame about the lack of rebuilding though. I'm so looking forward to Saturday, when we fly out to Nice! south of france here I come, weather looks like its going to behave and stay between 19 and 22 degrees too, phew just nice.
