I won't be offended at all if you want to bring funny gravy. You had already mentioned it, so I was expecting it.

I always take pillows places too, as I use tempur or wheat ones, so that's also fine!

Jim-jams - from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave would be the limit .

I haven't given any thought at all to what I will be wearing, but there is absolutely no need (or point) in getting all dressed up. We're really pretty relaxed (although obv can't say the same for in-laws )!

Sorry - had to go to emergency hospital doc because he started gasping every few breaths It was all sudden - he went to bed with conjuncitivitis and feeling a bit warm, then he woke up crying weird and trembling.

He had perked up a lot when we got in there but the doc took one look and announced that he was "not well" (no sh*t sherlock... the bright red cheeks, gunked up eyes and snotty nose gave it away?).

He is very clogged up, thinks the gasping was when his nose and throat clogged at the same time.

He thinks the trembling was his temp coming back down after hitting scary levels Temp is still high now - got him dosed up on calpol and nurofen, but worrying about him going back to sleep incase it shoots up and he fits or something.

He's currently snuggled in my arms watching How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 23:11

Oh dear. Did the doc not have anything to offer in the way of treatment?

Am wondering if I might have to take dd to doc tomorrow, as just had to go and medicate for a 39.2 temp again.

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 23/12/2007 23:56

Oh Flame- hope he is feeling well again soon- temps are just so scary.

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 24/12/2007 07:28

Just the normal calpol, nurofen and clear fluids... he is fine this morning

Jas · 24/12/2007 08:51

oh, scary. I hope he stays ok today

DD2 broke our stairgate off the wall last night so I got the other one out (it has been in the boot of he car since I picked it up, mrm). It is missing two vital bits. I bodged it together and had it fitted temporarily this morning (it is at the bottom of he stairs so I wasn' too worried) and ds walked up to it and opened it, came through and shut it behind him I'm going to have to makedp get up and fix the old one again.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 24/12/2007 09:15

Oops, sorry Jas Sorry, I should've checked it, but I just looked and saw a load of bits in the bag, then it got shoved up the loft. Oh well, at least it cost nothing and you dididnt come here only to collect it.

Scary, Flame. Poor little thing.

We had ds2 in our bed again, as dh frgot to change his nappy before bed, so we woke up about midnight saturated, came on our bed to chnge, then he grinned and clambered up and under our covers

The xmas card has been found

Just packing, and discobvered 2 vital problems: cant fit everything in the bag I'd planned on using (it looks nice and small; am very conscious of not looking like we're moving in!). Ans also, we dont have enough nappies Had planned on using disposables to make it easier (rather than collecting stinky nappies in your house), but kind of forgot how low our stocks are! So that'll be a quick trip to helllish shops today!!

We're aqlso thinking of leving our preseents for eavch other hre, and we can just open them on boxing night when the kids are in bed!

CantSleighWontSleigh · 24/12/2007 09:36

Oh ffs - don't go to the shops just for nappies. We have loads of size 5 if he's ok with that.

Do you only have 1 bag of stuff . Dh seriously wanted me to ask if he should put the roof box on to fit all of your stuff in. Should he? I don't want you to have to leave your pressies behind. Aren't we all watching dh's pressie on Christmas night ?

Have made dd a docs appointment, but it's for 4:10pm, and we're supposed to be at the Church service at 4 . She also seems ok this morning though (except for snot and cough, obv).

OP posts:
mustrunmorewantsanewname · 24/12/2007 09:49

Oh, dont miss church for the docs; its not half as festive you know!
ds2 wont let go of your xmas card BTW; he's got very attached. And he's trying so hard to say he name, but itscoming out as 'Beeper'

Thanks re the nappies;I'll see how the day pans out. prob will scrounge off you, but id my friend offers to watch the kids so I can nip out alone, obviuosly I'll be out like a shot!

Lol; no roofrack I'm sure!
This is waht we have:
1 full binbag of pressies amongst ourselves
1 Tescos blue reusable bag thing with your pressies in
half a binbag from santa
holdall of clothes etc
few things that dont fit in, I'm sure

CantSleighWontSleigh · 24/12/2007 09:59

Sounds like it should all fit ok, esp as can put some of it at ds2's feet if necessary.

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 24/12/2007 10:06

Flame for boy, hope he's well on the mend now {{{{hugs}}}} very scarey....
also for your wedding ring, how lucky it went to an honest mumsnetter!

MRM, you mean you don't like my dh on the shop photos I think he looks lots better than I do on the one with both of us on.

Well done on your sale bargins, I shall leave it a week or so, then go and snaffle what ever I can find on my boots points card

EPPM, wow! what a change very brave of your dh to do it, mine says he's happy being the scarey bloke that no one wants to sit next too

How big are the ques outside certain food shops around here

Went to visit cousin and her new dd (and her dh) yesterday, new dd is lovely bit pissed at my Auntie though, as half the stuff I left for my cousin to go thru and return if she didn't want it, has been snaffled by other members of our family, without their asking. Auntie has just let them have a free for all, when she had been told, by both myself and my mother, she was to return anything unwanted....Cousin also miffed as she wanted stuff that has gone so told my mum last night, who got on the phone and is getting missing items retrieved/money for, damn cheeky extended family eh.

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 24/12/2007 10:08

CSWS what you got your dh? you already have the world biggest telly?

Have a great Xmas girls though sure I'll be kicking around on here all day!

PS: Are you tracking Santa, he's in NZ at the mo

CantSleighWontSleigh · 24/12/2007 10:17

Can't tell you yet - he's reading!

OP posts:
mustrunmorewantsanewname · 24/12/2007 10:19

FrizFamily!!
I'd like sitting next to the scarey blokes

Jesus, we're only coming for a day and a half. Mind you, if it wasnt for the pressies, I'd be quite pleased at how light we're travelling! Er, I think its all fitted in the holdall, just cant do it up.
And if we didnt need to bring 3 cuddlies and a book it'd be easier

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 24/12/2007 10:51

email me!!

MRM dh says that's a back handed compliment

kando · 24/12/2007 11:06

Merry Christmas everyone, hope all the dcs are behaving themselves!

PS Elizabeth seems to have "fallen off" the list (03/02/06)

CantSleighWontSleigh · 24/12/2007 11:31

Hello Kando! Merry Christmas!

Dd just came back from our walk and realised that ds1 still isn't here (dh told her this morning that he was coming today), so she pulled a sad face and said 'no Lexi'. Awwwww - think it's true love mrm .

OP posts:
mustrunmorewantsanewname · 24/12/2007 14:27

good. At least we'll know the inlaws Think ds2 might be slightly put out if she goes for ds1 though.

Er, we're back. Tried to get friend to childwatch, but she wasnt having it! so dh is in tescos gettinf some nappies;thetrafficwas at a standstill anyway, so he thought he might aswell get off. I think what swung it was him realisnig we dont yhave meat for boxind day teatime, so he's off to buy a dead pig or something

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 24/12/2007 14:28

I know what Mrcsws is getting, I think!

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 24/12/2007 14:48

glad flameboy is ok this morning, not a nice thing to happen.
Have a good christmas everyone.
xx

CantSleighWontSleigh · 24/12/2007 14:59

You might not actually mrm. There was a plan A, but we've moved on to plan B. Friz knows now though.

Well we were going to cancel docs and go to church, but then dd had another bad coughing fit, and dh thinks we should take her to docs just in case (nice to have him make a decision for once ), so it looks like church is off.

Guess that means that dh will be away down to you a bit more promptly. He'll leave here by 4:30, so traffic depending, will be with you sometime between...errr....how long do I normally take to get to you? Well not before 5, but hopefully by 5:30.
