Phoenix. Some drs seem to enjoy scaring people. I'm due a smear test too I think. I last had one when I had my coil taken out pre ds.
The tablets will stop the bleeding

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 10:09

bloody hell i've scared myself now abnormal heavy or light bleeding is a symptom of cervical and womb cancer. I'll get my smear booked for after christmas.

Jas · 20/12/2007 10:13

Don't they do the smear while you are bleeding? So if you're taking tablets o stop the bleeding they won't be able to do it

It could also be alot of other non-scary things Phoenix. I know loads of women with heavy/ unusual etc bleeing and none have turned out to be cancer (alhough still does need ruling out.... I will book mine next month too

damewashalot · 20/12/2007 10:19

I thought they did smears when you were not bleeing?

damewashalot · 20/12/2007 10:21

Just re read and realised didn't say don't stress you can bleed for all sorts of reasons.

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 10:26

I've only had 1 smear so far but pretty sure i wasn't on period when i had it cos i've got pcos so don't have regular periods.

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 10:26

I just want the bleeding to stop its getting on my nerves now.

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 10:29

Just googled smear tests. The bbc health site says 'To be able to judge the cells properly, this is best done in the middle of your menstrual cycle, halfway between one period and the next.'

damewashalot · 20/12/2007 10:42

Right, I'm off. Not likely to get back on today, dh on way home, his uncle died this morning was very poorly and we knew was coming but still very sad esp this close to christmas, it will be his gd's first christmas

Jas · 20/12/2007 11:23

Dame

I was thiking coil fitting Sorry to cause more confusion.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 20/12/2007 14:08

Hmmm, I'm due a smear too Yuck. And the thought of controlling 2 kids while I get it done !!

Flame Parcel arrived (found it in my recycling box!) Not tried on the bras yet, but I'm hoping, as they're lovely. And he's going to adore that dino. in 2 minds whether to give it him now, wrap it and say its from you, keep it for ds2's birthday, save it f9or a being good reward.

Jury still out on the colourblindness. He can see the easiest test, but ten not the others. But it might not be that he cant see, but to him it might ber trying to see one of those magic eye pictures. If yoiu dont know exactly how too look, you cant see it, IYSWIM

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 20/12/2007 18:14

Will try and20 catch up in a bit -[grin[ @ parcel coming mrm

Jas · 20/12/2007 19:03

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 20:27

Dame {{{{{Hugs}}}} for you and your dh and his bro's family as well for you all.

Jas, I got most of those ok!

Phoenix, what a is what I think of your Dr....no bedside manners that one eh! sure you'll be fine, try not to worry eh.

MRM remember my smear story, with dd2 sat on my chest

Oh and dh got his test results back from the snip this am......its not worked so far so he's got another two samples to do, if they're both still positive, he's going to have to go through it all again (or we'll just hire him out as a stud one or the other)

CantSleighWontSleigh · 20/12/2007 21:03

Mad busy day, so can't remember anything that I read earlier.

at snip not working though. Hope you haven't been relying on it?!

Well we went into town this morning and ordered some kitchen units for the new utility, then went to see the people doing the plans for the extension (but plans weren't ready), then dropped dh back home, then went to toddler group. Came home, had lunch, tried and failed to feed dd to sleep, did some cleaning, guy came round with the new version of the plans (we need to put them in for planning permission tomorrow, so there is some urgency!), discussed them with him, put dd to bed as she was tired and grumpy, friends arrived, half hour later in-laws came round, as for some reason they felt that dd had to have a hand knitted (but not by them) stuffed santa before Christmas day , then just as they were about to leave the playhouse company guys turned up to look at the leak, dinner was served before they'd left, and then it was tidy up, bath and bed.
In amongst all of that I've managed to cook an enormous turkey for Christmas lunch tomorrow, and make a tray of cauliflower cheese containing 4 whole caulis and about 7 pints of milk also for lunch.
Phew, no wonder I'm knackered!

Jas · 20/12/2007 21:08

I'm knackered reading that!

(Why are you having Chrismas lunch tomorrow?)

Chloe55 · 20/12/2007 21:09

Was it just me or did anyone else do the hok shoooooo out loud?

Sorry for your losses Kel and Dame

Bleeding can mean a number of things PG - you're not pg are you?

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 20/12/2007 21:10

Dont worry friz, its quite usual not to have your system clear on first test. Dh was clear on second test if you remember.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 20/12/2007 21:16

Christmas lunch with post natal friends tomorrow. We're borrowing a scout hut to hold it in. We were just going to take buffet style food until I suggested we did a full Christmas lunch. What a good idea .

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 22:51

Phoenix, I did that with dd1 when she was little how eh?

just went into check on dd2, there was a book in bed, that wasn't there earlier??? I was so sure she was fast asleep? then she stired, sat up said hello, then lay back down and carried on snoring!! scarey child....

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 20/12/2007 22:51
