Oooooh I prefer the hairy DH

I am not going to catch up, too much, can't even be arsed to read through

Did you (I know MRM did) hear about my wedding ring? I woke up on Monday morning and realised I wasn't wearing it anymore (decided that it wasn't that loose so I could wear my proper one again )... no idea where I had lost it or when, so there was no point in getting all upset and turning the house upside down - if it was meant to come back then it would....

Logged onto the Thank you thread on Friday lunchtime to find a message from Hogwarts thanking me for my parcel... and saying that she had found a wedding ring in it

The chances of it not being lost in the packaging, going to an honest MNer etc must be slim (well, not the honesty I hope, but everything combined!)!

Just done the big family meal. Babies everywhere - DS developed a yellow eye and temp towards the end, so I am off to the doctor's in the morning for some conjunctivitis meds -lovely thing on Christmas eve

We startin Jas's thread in the morning?

Can someone give me a recap of everything please!

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 17:09

Umm, not sure I can remember enough for a recap!

Jas is having 'a bit of a do' today, but thankfully her dp removed the plasterboard that was in the way. She's otherwise feeling a bit blue.

mrm made me spend lots of money in the Boots sale for future presents.

Lots of detail arranging for mrm & my Christmas.

Dd had v high temp yest, which has come down a bit now, but she is snotty and coughs til she's sick. Someone else was ill too....errr...maybe one of Friz's.

Friz shop v busy.

Supermarkets fun this time of year .

Lots of smears needed.

That'll have to do you.

Typical. Boots noe has the mack playtruck back in stock, now thst I've donr my order. And I found a cou0le of things that I could 've got dh for his birthday I cant see any way of adding to an existing order.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 20:42

Can you not just place a new order?

I was supposed to pick up my Waitrose food order today, but I thought it was tomorrow - durr! Don't know if they will have kept it or sold it to someone else now . Will have to phone them first thing. Even more annoying is the fact that we were actually in the store at the time I was supposed to collect it!

You do realise mrm, that despite us seeming to have done endless amounts of cleaning and tidying over the last few days, that our house will still look messy and dirty when you arrive .

OP posts:
Jas · 23/12/2007 20:42

I think that covered it csws. It was Frizbes dd1 being sick....her dh ate her ice cream while she was dealing wih said sick child.

I had a lovely afternoon, dp did all the things I would've asked him to bu withoout me asking so I am feeling much happier and more relaxed now.

And that is despite the fac tha ds dropped myglasses and boke the frame this morning. I hn discovered that he spare pair I hought I had are now sunglasses. Superglue is holding them ogether for now, so I look better than I did his morning (they were held together with duck tape in the chuch as I can't do a thing wihout them)

DS also fell down my stairs his evening, right from the top but appears toally unscathed.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 20:45

Ouch for falling down those stairs. Glad he's ok.

Did all of your friends have a lovely time?

OP posts:
FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 23/12/2007 20:52

DS crying oddly, trembling... waiting for emergency doc to call back. I'm scared and hiding here so I don't cry

Jas · 23/12/2007 20:53

I think so. There was wine, food, happy children ad good company.
The one I know least well has a message on facebook saying she has had a lovely day today

Jas · 23/12/2007 20:54

x posts. Tell us more.....

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 23/12/2007 20:55

something happen or a bug flame?

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 20:55

at the staris.I remember ds1 doing that(on our staris, not yours, obviuosly), and actually somersaulted and landed really badly on the top of his head.
at tape on glasses! ds2 headbutted mine tha day after ds1 had bee nfor his eyetest, so I had t ogo back and ask them to straighten the arm as it was so wonky they just fell off my head.

No, I cant place another orer because a)I'll have to pay delivery on that one as it wont befor £45! and b) I'll then have to be in at the right time twice, when once is unlikely enough!

Dh has just informed me that he cant find where he hid my xmas card, so I'm not getting one. But apparently it was really nice I'm afraid I was a bit mean in response, paraphrashing, but the gist of it was how great it was that I'm getting three lots of toiletires that are totally random and I might not even like or use them, just because he wanted them all the same price, and now no card either.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 20:56

Oops, big x post. Are you ok Flame?

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 21:02

Is the doc on the phone yet flame? Sudden onset, or gradual?

That's good Jas. You sound much perkier than recently.

I didn't know how much you had to order for it to be free mrm, so I can see why it's a bad idea.

Dh never gives me a Christmas card, and I haven't got one for him this year either. He never writes anything in cards anyway, so a bit pointless minding that I don't get one .

OP posts:
mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 21:09

He got me an 'amusing' birthday card one year. I ws not amused.

Am supposed to be packing some clothes for the boys now

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 21:10

See I like amusing ones, but dh tends to buy 'fluffy' ones .

OP posts:
CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 21:11

Am supposed to be cleaning/tidying, obv.

OP posts:
Jas · 23/12/2007 21:12

I don't do cards either. One year dp bought cards for m and both the girls for valentines day, but hasn't done it since.

Can you cancel the whole order and do a new one mrm?

Flame???

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 21:13

Dont bother tidying. you'll have 3 kids in the house.

I dont like really fluffy ones. Idealyy, he'd buy something romantic but sexy and gothic. But thats a tall order in a card.

Jas · 23/12/2007 21:15

I'm supposed to be wrapping the presents dp bought and didn't wrap.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 21:16

Jas, does dd1 have a bike?

OP posts:
mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 21:16

Dont want to cancel, as I risk things then being sold out and wont be able to reorder them. I really want the scuttlebug for ds2!!

I'm going to drag the boys to Brent x the day after boxing day I think. Not much fun, esp by bus, but I'll make it up to them. I also want to check out the big-Tescos sale, but thats in the other direction. And I'm going to keep an eye on the half price clothes in our Boots, for my Dad to get ds2. I've booked dh to have the boys on 3rd Jan so I can wander off a bit on my own. Dont think he's worked out that'll be his first day off in 3 weeks

CantSleighWontSleigh · 23/12/2007 21:19

I have 2 scuttlebugs on order . If you do cancel and re-order and it isn't available again, then you can have one of mine.

OP posts:
Jas · 23/12/2007 21:20

I know tha will be a link to soapboxes thread. I clicked on it even though the dds boh have nice bikes. DD1 got hers for her birhdy this year.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 21:51

Thanks csws! But I found the same mack on sale in Argos for only 50p more, so might get dh to go in on his way home tomorrow if he does indeed finish earlier. You're very sweet though. I might also have lost my half price Percy for ds1 to give ds2, and the scooby Doo game for friends birthday to go with 2 scooby action figures that were BOGOF in tescos a while back

Still packed nothing. But have considered what to bring. Dh asked if he was 'ok just in casual trouses'. I pointed out he only owns jeans and combats. And work combats.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 23/12/2007 21:53

A fwe queries though.. do I need to bring my own skanky gravy, or will that offend you?! Ans will me brinigng a wheat pillow offend you? i'm a bit fond of it to get to sleep!! And, how long can I stay in my jimjams for?!
