Happy nearly New Year girls!

Having a quiet one here, just slobbing out in front of 80s films tv. Been a fairly hectic few days family-wise though - lots of eating and drinking (quelle surprise!).

Poor wee Leo Wallace, hope his bottom's much better soon!

Emma is high as a kite with all the attention and toys, sang herself to sleep tonight, very sweet.

Hope everyone's having a good one xxx

Twinklemegan · 31/12/2007 23:01

I couldn't access them Wallace. Hold on, I'll try again now...

No, I just get the Orange homepage . I'd love to see them though - perhaps you could email a couple to me? I wonder if it's the same photographer that was in our town doing a session a while back - I wanted to go but didn't make it in the end. Glad Leo's stopped being sick.

Well ladies, I'm feeling exceedingly crap today. All my pre-pregnancy "hormocidal" mid-cycle symptoms have returned. Yesterday I felt like killing somebody, and today I've been so so tired with a really upset stomach - not cramps just really tight and knotted up. Have hardly eaten anything and don't really feel like celebrating, hence I'm here Mumsnetting on NYE - how sad am I? I pray to God they're not back for good.

Oh, and we've realised that poor Aidan suffers from travel sickness. We went over Fort William way on Saturday and after a couple of hours in the car A started really whinging. We'd thought he just gets fed up after too long in his carseat, but then on the way back he started whinging again and then threw up violently four times in succession . And of course we had no change of clothes and only one cloth - yuck! This happened the last time we went out for the day as well so I think there's no doubt - I feel really guilty for not realising sooner.

Hope everyone is having a fab time and Happy New Year!!

twink - Poor you, sounds crap. Btw our kids aren't travel sick usually but the fort william road gets ds1 every time! the photographer is www.davidbakerimages.com

firsty (like the name btw!) emma sounds so sweet

HC - you stayed up celebrating

Blossomingintoachristmasfairy · 01/01/2008 07:40

well I went to bed at 8.30 last night! We had our NYE the night before at SIL's and after a hangover and two rubbish night's sleep I made to the end of Eastenders and then it wbed for me. T slept right through too, so that was bliss.

I think DH stayed up tho so he is still in bed.

And I've logged on this morning and found I am Tip of the Day! Great start to the New Year!

Sorry Leo has been poorly Wallace that's rubbish.

Bak Later all, Happy New Year.

ceebee74 · 01/01/2008 08:09

Happy New Year to you all xx

I was in bed by 10.30 aswell last night - Josh had been up for 2 hours the night before wide awake and playing on our bed while we were trying to ignore him and sleep - so was knackered and I am not a fan of NYE anyway!

Went out to an Indian restaurant yesterday for an early tea with MIL, BIL and his gf - and they didn't have a high chair! Is that normal in Indian restaurants??? (I don't go to them very often) - they put us in a booth so we had to bring Josh's car seat in and he sat happily in that munching his own body weight in poppadoms and naan bread

Anwyay, all the best for 2008 ladies x

babalon · 01/01/2008 21:48

HI all, Been out of the loop for a while now but thought I'd pop in and say hi.

hope all is well with your LO's they are really fully at this age! We gt a camcorder for christmas from ourselves we've already missed so much!

Logan started walking about 2 months ago fabulous to see after his clubbed feet (talipes) etc. He has hypermobile joints (superbendy) too so has surgical boots to wear during the day but they are a nice design so no one notices.

Had a massive shock in October when my DS1 got sick with ? croup for the first time in his life at 8 yrs old. Anyway it turned out to be baterial traychitis and he had an respitory arrest on the childrens ward. He was ventilated in intensive care for 4 days which was the most awful time of my life but thankfully he has recovered well physically but emotionally is still suffering as am I.

I guess I've relaxed about Logan's feet since then as ultimately that won't kill him.

I hope that you are enjoyin your babes to the max. It's the little things that count

Happy new year roll on 17 month old craziness

Twinklemegan · 01/01/2008 22:22

Hi Babalon! Great to hear from you - don't leave it so long next time

Sounds like you've been having a really difficult time. How terrifying with your DS1? I can't begin to imagine how awful that must have been. Thank God he's OK, but I can well imagine that will take some getting over for the pair of you.

A huge well done to Logan. That's fantastic news!

Congrats on your tip of the day Bloss. IIRC you've had one before as well? You truly are a domestic goddess

Spin - I sympathise with the tantrum situation. Aidan too throws absolutely massive wobblies at times, and the tiniest thing can set him off. Last night was a good example actually - he didn't want to go to bed and didn't he let us know it! As with Roshi, there is nothing you can do except ride it out.

Ah - yes that's who I thought you meant Wallace. Definitely worth us bearing in mind, it'd be lovely to have some professional pics of Aidan. It's a nightmare to get good photos of him at the mo since as soon as he spots the camera he runs towards you and that's that.

Hello to everyone else and Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!! Ladies

Sorry havent been on much, my laptop is playing up again! and i use dps one here and there when he isnt giving me evil looks for using his(thinks i'll destroy it)

we had a very quiet christmas, went over to dps aunts for dinner, and spent most of the day lazing around.

went out to a house party last night, came home 5.30am and have tried napping all day, finnaly managed to get dc to nap at 4pm!

Junior now has a habit of grabbing my hands whenevr possible to drag me to the kitchen for food. he will not be spoonfed no more, insists on using spoon and fork by himself, and always have to be ready with the wipes hen eating yoghurt!

im going to have a hot bath now and get an early night, will catch up on posts later

babalon - how scary! Thank goodness he is okay. I can imagine how you are still suffering xx

HumphreysCorner · 02/01/2008 08:54

babalon-how utterly frightening for you all. Agree that you must try and pop in more often as we are a great support group too.

Looks like DH has man flu again I'm half heartedly back on my diet but saw some things in the fridge which need eating up and I don't like to waste food. WW policy is throw it out in the New Year and donate chocs to charity.

Hope all cherubs and mummies are OK.

Love to all

TheGoddessBlossom · 02/01/2008 10:56

babalon so sorry, how really terrifying, glad everything seems ok now, big hugs.

HC you can't throw it out, the gasses rotten food create contribute to global warming so you have to eat it, otherwise you'll be responsible for losing parts of Greenland! And everyone knows you can't start a diet on a Wednesday.

I am in the office. It is very peaceful indeed. Loving the fact that I have a 1 day week this week! Loving my new work troos that I got in the sale, loving the fact that Toby waltzed into Nursery with a smile, no tears for the first time ever.

Had loads of comments to reply to everyone's posts with but can't remember them now that I actually have time to post....

Toby wakes pretty much every morning still at 5am, and I give him a bottle, and sometimes he goes back to sleep and sometimes he doesn't. It's totalyl random. But at least he isn't waking up at 12.30 for an hour so it's swings and roundabouts. H was the same, I remember, so I just have to wait till T is 2.5. zzzzzz. He is so adorable most of the time he is awake that I utterly forgive him. Says "Mummee" over and over again now, and "Harreee", loves carrying around his Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam figures, and is so happy and smily, loves dancing etc, quite a groover actually!

DH has started his mega health kick - went running last night, no booze in January, major healthy diet. He wants to lose a stone and a half. No way am I joining him, certainly not on the no booze thing I couldn't cope!

Right better get busy.

Speak soon,

Bloss

xx

santaspregnantlittlehelper · 02/01/2008 17:23

babalon you must have been utterly scared witless. as HC says we are a great support group too

must change my name back to normal altohugh i could just be called lump i am feeling so huge on some days!

dh and i pretty much got through christmas by arguing all the time... not a happy household a lot of the time at the moment. having ILs here isn't helping either as they are doing al lthe fun stuff with jacob but none of the work stuff - well they can't really as with dinner time he is such a monkey he gets bored with eating so you have to really keep trying with savoury before giving him any sweet stuff and MIL just gives up really quickly and just shoves fruit or yoghurt down his neck [grrrrrr].

christmas and new year (apart from the bickering) went well though, and we had loads of people over on sunday afternoon for casual lunch / afternoon thing, which was fun. we have also had barely any chocolate in this house but lots of cake [yuuuuummmmm] which i have consumed most of!

jacob's favourite gifts have been a fireman sam fire engine, a thomas that pulls along another engine, and abacus (becuase it makes a great noise when you turn it on its side!), and a spinning top.

pg has been stil all going ok - b pressure is still under control and was a great reading today which is something.

also my nan died on christmas eve. is it a terrible thing to say i am upset because she was my nan, but i wasn't that close to her so i'm not really as affected as the rest of my cousins etc as they were much closer to her that we were.

not much else to report here - my mum is seeing the cardio surgeon today to see whether she is suitable for the urgery that could mean an end to the heart racing / jumping problems etc that she has had recently. still don't know about the parkinsons yet though. in the nicest possible way it's just one thing after another at the moment. that's me being pg and selfish too.

ceebee i laughed about your eating chocolate behind closed doors

that's it, i'm rambling, off to sort out some washing and make jacob's dinner (read make in place of heat up leftovers in the microwave )

xxx

MaeWest · 02/01/2008 18:22

welcome back babalon . Sorry to hear you've been having a stressful time, glad DS1 has recovered. And congrats to Logan on the walking, my little bro has hypermobile joints (dispraxic too) and was late walker (2ish) he had little Piedro boots. People used to ask my mum where she got the smart boots and then they would look all when she said 'on prescription' .

better go, got a bedtime boob situation...

jammydodger · 02/01/2008 20:43

Hello ladies

Happy New Year to everyone. Hope it's a good un.

Lysette, sorry to hear about your nan. It's always sad and a bit of a shock when someone you know dies, even if you weren't that close. Sympathies to all your family.
Hope things go well for your mum too.

Bloss, I too had a one day week this week!! Love it!! You sound very chirpy, hope things are good. My DH often talks about a health drive, but never gets round to it.
After this weekend now.

HC, agree with Bloss, you have to start on Monday. Besides I need you to join me in a birthday drink!!

Babalon, big hugs to you, hope both your boys are well on the mend now. Must have been terrifying for you.

Well our Christmas was ok. Christmas eve, we had the best sleep ever, then it was all downhill very fast after that. Kayley's eczema flared up incredibly and has been the worst it's ever been up until about two days ago, when finally she has started to improve thanks to all the antibiotics and steroids from the GP.
Her favourite Christmas pressie was Joey's train track!! His favourite was K's In the Night Garden characters

Anyway, things must be better this year.

Now, just waiting for DH to get back from work (i.e. coffee with his mates) with my Real Present. Not the ice cube tray in the shape of love hearts...

Lol

Happy birthday me
