bloss jacob was in with us for 3 weeks (first 3 weeks in the scbu) and he was such a noisy sleeper we moved him for dh's sake!!! sounds really crap i know but he does have to work ridiculous hours that it's just not fair to expect him to do it on really interrupted sleep.

well fil has really outdone himself now. i cooked pot roasted chicken with potatoes and carrots, with fresh chicken stock and lemon thyme as a nice delicate seasoning (all organic so jacob can have leftovers), with fresh wilted spinach and fil.....wait for it......had f*ing mango pickle (similar to lime but even more fruity) over it. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. so i suggested (which went down really well as fil thinks - and quite rightly too - that i have no respect for him) that had i known that was going to be done i'd have given him plain grilled chicken with veg for dinner!!!

anyway, rant over again for the moment , see you all later

he slept through again - but woke at 5.30am, so we are kind of back to where we were in terms of early wakings but compared to be up half the night I deffo prefer it. No milk at night though so that is real progress, I had really let things slip....my excuse that I didn't want him to wake H up wore thin as H NEVER woke up no matter how loud T was.....

WAH (working at home) today. Bliss. Feeling quite fluey so very tempted to set myself up in bed with lap top and phone..........

ceebee74 · 16/01/2008 13:21

Bloss - I guess a 5.30 waking is better than being up half the night so now I guess you just have to train T to entertain himself when he wakes up

Must share this funny story that happened yesterday. Took Josh to a soft play area and they had 'music time' where one of the staff stands on a small stage, they play some songs doing the actions and all the children stand on the mat in front of the stage singing/dancing and doing the actions etc. Anyway, Josh loved it and started off standing next to me dancing around and next thing I knew, he had charged to the front of the mat and then onto the stage where he promptly turned to the 'audience' of children and carried on dancing . All the other children were staying on the mat doing what they were supposed to...but not Josh. Each time I moved him back on to the mat, he just ran straight back onto the stage so in the end, I had to pick him up and hold him. I think I may have given birth to the ultimate show-off

Beadmum · 16/01/2008 14:32

pinkdolly - for you (((hugs)))

cb - very funny story, josh is def not shy then

bloss - good luck with the cc, charlotte has started waking at nights, when she wakes either dh or i go in, give her cuddles and she sometimes goes back down, other nights takes a few times. Think we've done the wrong thing picking her up as shes waking more now, after being in to her 3 times last night, we left her to cry, think she was sleeping within 20-30mins or at least i was

lysette - what a lot of stress you dont need re jabs (((hugs))) sympathies re fil, couldnt stand pil staying with me any length of time. mine used to live 4hr+ drive away which was bliss and moved to our town when i was pg (they lived here before) i wish they hadnt.

annie - sorry to see you and dh were having probs, glad things are better now cant see your new hairdo as i dont have facebook logon, it sounds fab

impy - good luck with new job, must be really hard being apart from ry so much (((hugs)))

Hi to everyone else ive not mentioned

Have started going to a little gym group and charlotte is loving it, they have little assault courses set up and soft play with tunnels and trampolines but charlotte has spent last 2 classes running around with balls im sure she'll get into it, i get plenty of exercise running around after her though, also have a walk up huge hill to bus after it, i really should learn to drive.

Dh and i have decided we will take charlotte somewhere sunny in may when he's off for a week. We werent going to as we're getting a new bathroom put in in feb but we're just going to look for something not too expensive, no idea where other than prob spain, any recommendations welcome

Better get some housework done while charlotte is still sleeping, bye for now xx

jacobandlysetteandabump · 16/01/2008 15:02

ceebee josh and jacob are more and more virtual twinnies!!!! show off is not the word here we keep laughingly suggesting he's going to be an actor as he just plays up to anyone else being around it's hilarious...

hope everyone else ok

bloss glad to hear sleeping through at least. jacbo has managed it again since we've been back from our little norfolk break, so that's something as i'm so tired at the moment.

update on the jabs - have to have them tomorrow and friday and now have to have different steriods as the hospital had none either!

Pinkdolly - so sorry to hear what happened . Hope you're doing OK.

Sorry I've not been around much. Aidan's really poorly with a nasty cold/flu/ear infection and he's hardly slept at all for nearly a week now. I've got the flu as well so we're all feeling rather sorry for ourselves.

Lysette - what a nightmare. Hope it goes OK for you.

Loving the story about Josh, CB!

Have just been to the Pizza Hut with my friends and lo's for a yummy lunch. I will never lose my Christmas weight at this rate.

DH being so narky over me decorating and is refusing to bring home free masking tape from work so have bought some from Wilkos this morning-I'll show him!!!

Hope all are OK. Just having a cuppa while Sophie naps then it's off to collect the wild child.

DS has been sleeping through this week too. Its bliss. I think we were giving him mixed messages by either cudling him, leaving him to cry, bringing him into bed etc so he thought if he kept waiting sooner or later we would cuddle him again. So CC did the trick. I just hope it lasts as last time within a few weeks we'd gtten back into night wakings.

Lynsette- I would leave him in a cot or as long as pos because once they work out they can get out o a bed you end up spending your evenings putting them back in again and thats not something youll want to be doing with a newborn. Even if you put sam in his own room early on you could just move him in his moses basket or crib so you wont need the cot or a while.

I like having my parents and pil living close by and as pil look after dc then it is handy. It does mean though that I have to bite my tounge a bit as to what mil does with the dc. Yesterday I caught her emptying a bottle of milk which had been up hanging around for 12hrs down the drain and then filling it back up with fresh milk and giving it to DS URGGHH.. I think she could see how horrified I was that she hadnt washed the bottle. Its a god job I dont know what goes on half the time because im sure I would be peed off. ive already had to tell her to stop giving them so many cakes and sweets. She thinks that because they eat good food they should be allowed cakes etc on a daily basis whereas I think its too much and should be treated as a treat.

Beadmum- Weve jut booked our hols, saint cana in ibiza in may and then a week in cornwall in July. Cant wait but ive had to put our bathroom on hold until we get more mony saved.

Twinkle- hope your all better soon
DH is like a child today. He gets to pick up his new car a saab 95 from the garage, he said hes not driving home above 25 mph and is so excited.

h well best be off. ds i still napping and ive got to collect dd from nursery at 3.30 and then were off to a friends for tea and then to asda for some nappies.

Beadmum · 17/01/2008 15:32

spin - have a good (if not hectic) weekend

hc - good news re ebay

kbaby - hope the sleeping through continues. I am excited about deciding where to go on holiday, although some places dont have any flights from scotland so that narrows it down a bit i suppose

jacobandlysetteandabump · 17/01/2008 17:38

spin have a great time - the tvr owners name isn't darren isn't it? would be too wierd as i used to know a darren from watford who owned a tvr and moved to perth....

kbaby that's a great reason, although our other problem is that we are having to totally clear out our loft and the cot bed is part of that....

jacob currently obsessed with the oven light! on and he crouches down to look at it, then off and he crouches down to see what's happened and over and over and over again. he's getting really good at recognising his different books and toys - i asked him to get the gruffalo book and he dutifully trots off, then back with it - and he'll look through all the books to get the one you ask for - bless!

well the in laws left today - pil had the nerve to say "take things calmly and don't get too stressed"!!!!! felt like saying no problem since you're going now but managed to hold my tongue.

kbaby we are so strict and a**l about what jacob eats that my parents and pils know better than to give him any sweet things etc that aren't approved actually dh is worse with this than i am, i'll let jacob try some of what i'm having if it's sweet on the odd occasion, depending on what it is - pain au raisin from the french patisserie fir instance but a no no on my current craving of chocolate spread on toast!!! go figure pregnant woman's logic

anyway, glad to hear you got your money back HC and hi to everyone else - i bumped into castille on another thread the other day - hope you're ok and where are you???? and hi to everyone else who hasn't posted in a while hope you're all ok.

morning girls. I have the flu and am in bed. Feeling a bit better than yesterday - Had to go to my mums, and go to bed, was lying under a duvet with my coat cardy t-shirt and jeans on shaking with cold, though I was going to die I felt so awful. My sil came to my mum's to help her look after the boys, and today I booked them back into nursery for the day (£88!!!) as I can't look after them. Ironically DH isn't working as he had to take the day off to get them to nursery but at least if he isn't looking after them I don't have to hear him stressing. He got zero sleep apparently lying next to me wheezing.

Haven't been ill for ages! Rotten.

Really pissed off as we had a day in London planned tomorrow to go and see my friend's new baby and now of course we can't go, would hate to pass on any lurgy.

DH needs some sympathy lessons - "It's just a sore throat though isn't it? You feel better today don't you?"

HumphreysCorner · 18/01/2008 11:03

Oh Bloss-you said you felt fluey didn't you. Good old mum-eh? Hope you feel better soon.

Hi to everyone else. Going through my can't cope and feel like I'm going mad stage. Ho hum!

Hi girls.

Just popping in to say hello, lots of looking down a microscope to do.
HC {{{HUGS}}} for you. Remember it is just a stage, and it will pass and we all love you, and Gerald loves you. Great about the PS2 though.

Bloss, dearie, hope you get over it soon. DH's are notorious for non-sympathy, and yet expect it in bucketloads when they have a tiny sniffle. Sounds like full blown flu. You may have seen me staggering around London on Tuesday night, as I tried to get home on the train pretending to read my book, but actually swaying too much to focus. Pity you miss your trip tomorrow though.

Lysette, PHEW! The in-laws have GONE!! (Kayley's latest word is 'phew' accompanied by a fake wiping the sweat off her brow!!)
Re the cot, Joey is still in one, and he's 2.9... we are very slow to change... I think he's ready soon though.

Kbaby, glad CC worked for you. I just don't think I could face it though. Easy life for me. Though I'm paying for it still...

Spin, slow down woman! You're wearing me out reading about all your activities...

Twinkle hope you and Aiden are better.

Beadmum, . Any thoughts on where you are going to go on holiday? I wouldn't recommend Ireland if it's sun you're looking for!!

CB LOL at your little star performer!!

Impy, hope the job is going ok now, and you're not missing Ryan tooo much.

Mae, are you still hurdling these nights??

Pink {{{{{HUGS}}}}} So sorry.

Bye for now

TheGoddessBlossom · 19/01/2008 20:59

evening ladeez. I am still ill. No sign of it clearing particularly, feel rotten, although head is a bit better and throat not so sore. Moved down onto my chest I think. Going to be off work on Monday at this rate.

DH has finally acknowledged I am not swinging the lead (sp?) and has had to look after the kids while I have been in bed, took them off to a friend's house this afternoon who fed them too bless her, he is now in the pub. I still manage to be around to help with bath time, and getting them dressed, and come downstairs to clean up when they go out and do all the ironing and washing but other than that I am laid up.

Spin, I had a feverish dream about a guy from Watford with a TVR last night. What was he like? Good luck with move on Monday.

HC, chin up girl, this too shall pass.

Annie, we left Toby to cry it out last Sunday night as I had had enough of the broken nights and he has slept through every night since. He wakes up and murmurs or cries out b ut takes himself back off. In fact he slept till 7am this morning, unheard of. And that was despite a face full of bogeys that needed to be scraped off and being soaked all the way through his gro bag with wee. Too much juice before bed methinks. Anyone else's kid obssessed with juice? "joosjoosjoosjoosjoos" he just says that loudly until he gets some.

He was adorable today (the few 15 minutes segments I saw him anyway) and H was a little horror by all accounts. They take it in turns!

Right off back to my sick bed. Had to come down as was absolutely starving and have just nailed left over omelette, 4 fig rolls and a piece of cake H and DH made this afternoon. Feed a cold they say don't they?

Snuffle wheeze, moan groan, night all.

Bloss

Hey Bloss-glad you are on the mend.

Things certainly look better after a few glasses of Blossom Hill and a pile of nuts Going to mum and dad's tomorrow for another Christmas Dinner with Bro and SIL, nephews and new puppy Harvey-can't wait. Have started knitting another clown much to DH's disgust but it is therapeutic.

Night ladies.

Hi peeps

Thanks again for all your lovely comments. I know you're right CB - I'll look back on this trauma in a few months and wonder what the fuss was about! We're probably going to move Ry to a nursery nearer my work that is more flexible about hours (his current one says the latest we can drop him off is 9.30 which is an hour earlier than I want to, since I start work at 11). I'm still doing both jobs at the moment, so it's a long old day and Ry has been poorly and clingey when he does se me, poor love.... Anyway, enough of my moaning.

Hope you're better soon Bloss.

Glad the Blossom Hill did the trick HC . Seriously, I hope you're ok. Are there any natural anti-Ds you could take that won't interfere with TTC?

Hope you're insanely busy w/end is turning out well SSS! It'll be fab to be finally installed in your new home - get back to normality.

Loved the story about Josh, CB! I bet you were mortified where as everyone else there must have been loving his performance! He sounds such a star.

Come and stay with us in Madrid, Bead (if you can all fit on the futon in the lounge, that is!)

Hope you and Aidan are ok, Twinkle.

Ewww about your MIL not washing out your DS's bottle, Kbaby! What is she like?!

Bet you're relieved the in-laws have left Lysette! Hope you're doing ok.

Love Kayley's "phew" expression Annie! How are you and DH doing? I'm with you on keeping them in cots as long as poss! Ry's is a cot/converts-into-bed - so it's really big and I figure should last him tilll it's 16!

Well Ryan is still Mr Adorable. He's still mainly babbeling - only get the odd word. He's all about the animal noises - went to the zoo last week and, despite looking bored in the pix, he loved it!

Well hope you're all having a good w/end. Must go and entertain the boy....

Hugs Impy xxx

Wallace · 20/01/2008 20:07

Hi all, just posting to get this thread back on my list so I can catch up

(how many times have I posted that and still not managed to catch up? ])

AnnieOleTing · 21/01/2008 13:37

Morning Girls,

Bloss, hope you're feeling better again.
That's brilliant that you got Toby to sleep through. I don't think I could do it though, Kayley just becomes hysterical. She's so used to coming in with us now. But I will try soon I promise. We got about 4 minutes sleep last night, she kept waking to scream in pain for no apparant reason. She was fine this morning.

Oh and she did another poo last night in the POTTY!!! She came running into me in the kitchen, already dressed up in her wet wraps and pj's, and said, POO POO!! So I took off her sleep suit, and wet wraps, and nappy, she had already done a bit of one, but I sat her on, and she did the rest, while (Look out for Tip of the Day soon!!) reading a book that Joey got for her!!
Joey was unimpressed though. She got her chocolate ice-cream, and he got a little bit too for helping, but still seems to have no inclination at all to do one himself.

HC, how was Christmas!!?! Xmas Grin
Love the clown...

Impy, love the photos!! How gorgeous! I can just picture him in his cot at 16...
Thanks for asking, me and DH are fine, just fine at the moment... nothing said, nothing changed. But we're civil and polite so fine.

I better go, I have about a million mosquitoes to look at...

Spin how was your weekend?

x

jacobandlysetteandabump · 21/01/2008 13:44

just quick catching up everyone. bloss feel better soon dear! HC echoing annie it's a phase and you're brilliant - seems like the BH is helping so keep dosing up with that

had steroid jabs last thursday and friday and felt dreadful all weekend - still shattered now and jacob jsut gone for his once a day nap so i'm off too. he's sleeping better although came in with us at 4 this morning after doing well all night and just being so full of snot he could barely breathe poor little man. thought it was cos we'd put him back on cows milk but it looks like a cold. plus point is that his bottom is back to normal and he has 3 molars through! must see how many teeth he's supposed to have though as it still seems he is missing quite a few.

see you all later

xxx
ps soooooooooooooo relieved the ILs have gone!

MaeWest · 21/01/2008 21:16

Hey all

DS has a really snotty cold too, last night it took him THREE HOURS to go sleep due to inability to suck thumb and breathe at the same time..... So tonight he's had his first ever dose of Medised.

It's a shame as he'd just started sleeping much better. He would even settle in the night with a quick cuddle and a pat . Fingers crossed that the upward trend continues...
