Hi Ceebee! Yes ignoring the ishoos seem to work for a while!! We still have some green rice left if Josh would like to try it?!
I'll try and stick a photo of the hair on Facebook later. Believe me VB will be suing for copyright soon...
Oh I name-changed cos I thought it was a really stupid question and expected to be told so. But it turns out I'm not the only one. It was very helpful actually.

Oooh Bloss, Kayley did a poo yesterday in the potty!!! She was threatening to do one all day, and kept saying Poo Poo, but when you ask if she's going to do one, it's NO!
But I left her to run around nappyless, and then it started coming, so we plonked her on, and she did a little pea-sized one!!! Joey was looking on disapprovingly, as if How dare she! But she got her chocolate ice-cream, and he got a little bit for eating ALL his mexican food. So maybe in this case, he will learn from her.
I don't know if it will progress really, it was more for Joey's benefit, but we'll see.
Wouldn't it be nice to do them both together though!!

Anyway best be off.

Have a good day

(Hope you had a good day, spin!)

hi all,
Sorry for being a stranger!
Lots going on here, we have sold our flat and are gearing up for a 3 month holiday around Asia!!!! We have never had a proper holiday before I am so excited.
After that we will go to Cape Town for a few months and live there and see how we feel about it. Might come back, might not we will see!

Other than that, Sefton is doing great, except for the fact that he has had the cursed chicken pox, the first 5/6 days were a living hell. But he is back at nursery today, and I really miss him! He hasn't been there since before CHristmas and was crying "mamaaaaaa" when I dropped him off. aaw.

He is super confident, loves running everywhere. Loves walking around with his eyes closed - nice sensation I guess but accidents sometimes happen! Said his first 2 words together over the weeked : "Hello Dada" was very sweet.

I hope you are all well?

How are things, Annie? Me and DH have not been blissville either, so desperate for this holiday

Hi peeps

Big {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}} to you Annie - really sorry to hear about the probs you've been having with your dh. Everyone has been giving great advice here - sleep deprivation and lack of time on your own is going to make matters worse. It'd be great if you could have a night away - the long w/end I had with dp in December was great for re-connecting etc. It's tricky to organise of course, but would be great if you could.... And now with your new 'pob' you'll be sending your dh wild! Post pix pls!!!

Well done to Tobes on the potty front! I've been trying to get Ry to even sit on a potty for weeks but he just gets freaked out. I've been reading that we leave them way too long in nappies these days as they are so convenient and we should try and train them earlier - but I've no idea how when they've got potty phobia!!! He just straightens his legs and refuses to sit on it! Sorry too, Bloss, that your DH is being a berk (our favourite word ;-) Bet he does regret not going to the play.

Meant to say last time Maewest, well done on still b/feeding - I've wound up now after 18 months - think I did alright! We gradually cut down over several months and then Ry realised he got milk much quicker out of a cup!

Hope Emma's tummy's better Pixel...

I'm with you on the cc, CB - it's always worked with Ry, painful as it is (I would recommend in Annie and Bloss and anyone else struggling with sleep...)

Impressed with the gadget/software obsession, Pretty - sounds as bad as me!!

Oh Sleep - you're long holiday sounds bliss!!! Have a fab time and hope it all goes well.

Well things are a wee bit tough in Casa Impy. I finally heard about my new job in a different dept - and, in typical Spanish style, they wanted me to start straight away. So I've been doing my current job until 3.30 and then having a couple of hours in the other dept to get me up to speed. But it's killing me leaving Ry for so long. I'm welling up now as I type. Argh! I know it's good for my career/personal development but I want to be with him too. I think it'll be fine in a few weeks when I'm in the swing of it but it's hard at the mo.... The number of women (especially from Latin America) I've met here in Spain who've had to leave their babies in their homelands to make money here - I shouldn't really complain about being away from my little man for just a few hours.... I need to get some perspective!

Anyway hugs to all. Impy xxx

MaeWest · 14/01/2008 21:12

Hey Impy - virtual high five for breastfeeding to 18 months, especially with all the probs with mastitis etc. Hope your new job works out

kbaby · 14/01/2008 22:31

Prettymum, that sounds about right. Tonight he kicked off because I wouldnt let him have another yougurt and then went around throwing anything he found on the foor or could reach.

Ive got him to help me with the washing though. He throws it down the stairs for me(over the stair gate) and then he comes downstairs and puts it all in the washing machine for me, takes ages though.

Annie- Its so tiring looking after 2 lo's esp when you dont get much sleep. I hope it improves soon for you and me.

Ive spent all evening listening to DD cry and whine about everything, she wanted cornflakes, then she didnt, then she threw some on the floor so was asked to tidy it up, which she wouldnt so spent 3 mins on the naughty step and then cleaned it up. Then she cried because DH was copying her whinning, Then to top it all she climbed over the back of the settee and knocked DH speaker over and dented it arghhh..

They both had a birthday party tonight and mil took them and I was going to pick them up. They spent 5 mins at the party before mil decided that it was like a 'lunatic asylum there with a bouncy castle and children bouncing on it'. ffs what does she think they do on a bouncy castle!

Bloss- I was using medised or calpol too thinking it may be teeth but then you just get to the stage where you think hang on a minute surely you cant be in pain only at night and while in a cot on your own. I left him to cry for his nap on Friday and Friday night when he woke I gave him some milk in his cot and he went back off( I know ive just replaced one vice with another) Last night he just woke for a dummy with no crying. I hate it though as you go to bed wondering how long it will be until your awake again. Thursday night my brother rang at 10pm and woke him up and it took me until 12.30 to get him back to sleep, when you do leave him to cry for a few minutes he goes mental and starts screaming so much he hurts his throat, he throws everything out of his cot and shakes the bars. He makes it well known that he's not happy. One thing though which may help you go with CC, DD never wakes up, even if he is screaming in the room next to her she sleeps right through it.

Mawest sorry but pmsl at you in a cot

HumphreysCorner · 15/01/2008 09:15

Yes Maewest, how do you fit in a cot?

kbaby, Sleep and Impy-nice to hear from you. Hope your job works out Impy and kbaby-hope things smooth out for you.

Hi to everyone else.

Sophie at MIL's and Emma at school so off to half heartedly start decorating the downstairs toilet and utilty room. GGGRRRHHH-would much rather play on my new Playstation. Waiting to hear from Paypal to see if I am getting my money back.

Have a good wet day girls.

Well, it's a cotbed and I do only hop in briefly to give DS the idea (works like a charm). He sleeps in my old cot when I stay with my parents and there is no way I could get in there... and it would fall to pieces

AnnieOleTing · 15/01/2008 11:08

Morning girls.

Well things are on the up. My own mood has improved, and DH seems to be being more considerate. Let's see how long it lasts. Sleep-wise, it was ok last night, just several cries for milk, not too much faffing. Good nights and bad nights eh.
Kbaby, sounds like you and me are in the same boat. I know exactly what you mean, you get into bed, and think, well I'll be awake in a minute there's no point going to sleep, and just as you drop off, Waaaah maaaaameeee.
Anyway, here's hoping. Joey was around 20 months when he started sleeping through, so let's hope Kayley is the same. That gives me two more months, then sleep city!
Oh and Joey never wakes now, even if Kayley is raising hell next to him!! I think our DC's must be virtual twins, kbaby!!

Mae, lol at you getting into the cot!!! I have been know to fall asleep leaning in with my head next to K's, but I've never actually climbed in!!

Thanks for the hugs Impy! It is hard to leave them when you first go to work, but wait til the welcome home you get!! That makes it worth it. Of course you are right about the time out for myself. So I reckon I'll go out tonight in Carnaby St! What do ya reckon girls? My friend is up for it, I've cleared it with DH, and off I go...

He, on the other hand is stuck inside all day cos of the rain... So he'll be in a grump later. Oh well I'll be too pissed...

HC I think you should get that Playstation up and running first. The downstairs loo is FINE! Get playing!!!

Now, I've changed my picture on Facebook, so you can all see my hair, but I've washed it today and haphazardly blow-dried it, so it's not quite as sleek as that. As for Kayley's hair, I don't think it's seen a hairbrush yet this year...

Right, better go.
I do waffle on, don't I...

HumphreysCorner · 15/01/2008 11:29

Get you Annie-loving the new style. Glad things are improved. Can't do any more decorating today as DH has not brought me any masking tape-drat! Playstation maybe (well, after the ironing anyway).

Maewest-sorry, but still can't get the hopping in the cot vision out of my mind. I have a cotbed and I'm only 5ft and fairly lightweight now but still don't think I can get in. Sophie has too many cuddly toys and books in with her so not much room left.

Righty ho, must press on.

v chic Annie, you sound a bit more like yourself too

HC - DS's has a v minimal sleeping arrangement, just one small cuddly cow, called imaginatively 'cow'. I am 5ft 9, but all that pg yoga means I am quite bendy (glad I made you smile)

HumphreysCorner · 15/01/2008 13:30

Annie - hair looks fab, your hairdresser was right

Mae - glad you explained about the cot - I had this vision of you hurdling over the side to get in and out!

AnnieOleTing · 15/01/2008 14:07

Thank you ladies you are very kind to say such nice things!

AnnieOleTing · 15/01/2008 14:07

LOL CB, at Mae hurdling in and out of the cot...

HumphreysCorner · 15/01/2008 14:22

Am still tittering about the cot.

hiya

just a short one at the moment

annie chin up old girl and hope things are turning a corner for you and dh - i know it's awful when they are such horrid gits {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

mae i too had visions of you hurdling the sides! has everyone taken cot bed sides off yet? we are thinking of doing so in next few weeks and replacing them with safety sides.

jacob sleeping not too badly now - disastrous while away in norfolk - he ended up inwith us every night in a small double bed... much better now we're back home - a wee yelp at 1030 last night and a cuddle and he was fine! all through till 730 this morning.

in laws leave on thursday which as far as fil is concerned is not a moment to soon for my liking. i am completely fed up with him but that's another very boring story

anyway, see you all later

Hecky thump-have just spied pinkdolly on a MC thread. She sadly lost baby No4 at 7 weeks. Thinking of you pink if you see this.

Shit - so sorry about PinkDolly. Poor thing. V sad.

Thanks for all the good work vibes (and the high five Mae).

Love the hair Annie

Love to all. Impy x

ceebee74 · 15/01/2008 19:22

Very for Pinkdolly.

Lysette - I still have the sides up on the cot and plan to do so for quite a while yet - probably will think about lowering them if and when Josh ever works out that he could try and climb out.

Impy - good luck with the job - you will look back in a couple of months and it will all be second nature to you and Ry will still be a happy little man

Mae - wow at hurdling over the cot sides, I;ll have some of whatever you have

jacobandlysetteandabump · 15/01/2008 20:28

pinkdolly if you see this {{{{hugs}}}}

we are in a position where we have to take the cot sides off jacob's cotbed around 6 weeks after samuel is born (we moved jacob into cot bed after about 6 weeks), so we are thinking of doing it before sam is born so there is less of the "new baby taking my bed" thing... any thoughts? he doesn't really try and climb out of it at the moment - does sometimes stand up in it in the mornings when he wakes up but not every time. and presume we should take him out of his grobag when we do this and use duvet and sheet so he doesn't try and shuffle out and fall??? it's all so confusing!

the drama here at the moment has been to do with my steroid jabs for sam's lungs in case he has to be delivered in 5.5 weeks (aaaaarrrgghhhh it's too quick!!!) - i rocked up at the doctors to have the first jab to be told that the receptionist should have told me to pick up the prescription to take to the pharmacy and that they couldn't put it in for me (not what i was told last time...). so i had to go to the pharmacy to be told they can't get all the drugs for the 2 shots and they can't get them from the suppliers so i had to try all the other local pharmacies (i called 20 of them) to be told no one stocks it and can't get it at short notice so i have to go back to the hospital tomorrow for ANC with my consultant to get the prescription done at the hospital. which i could have done last week. only when i get there tomorrow morning will i know if a) they have the drugs in the pharmacy and b) if they will dispense them to me to have the shots done at the doctors or if i have to have one shot tomorrow at the hospital and then go back the day after (which we were trying to avoid in the first place).

sorry long drama and rant. and all because the receptionist forgot to phone me, which she has admitted and finally late this afternoon bothered to apologise for!!!

and i wasn't even being an unreasonable pregnant woman!!! saying that i could still happily murder FIL

xxx

will post more to everyone else i promise, am being a tad selfish i know

ceebee74 · 15/01/2008 20:42

Lysette - grrr at your doctor's receptionist. I am sure all the stress is the last thing you need right now.

Re the FIL - I often wonder whether it is better to have your IL's close by so you see them more frequently but for much shorter periods, or have them live in another country and don't see them very often but have them 24/7 for a long period of time.....I think I would prefer the option I have which is where I see my MIL once or twice a month but only for a few hours at a time. Christmas Day/Boxing Day where she was here for 36 hours was like torture for me - so sympathies and keep smiling - it will be over soon

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/01/2008 20:45

pinkdolly, how very sad thinking of you.

Lysettes, what a complete shag about the prescription. Like you need that hassle. Hugs. Re b ed, maybe you don't have to do it quite so soon, as Sam will be in with you for a bit won't he?

Maewest - Toby and Dom have been talking. Started cc Sunday night with Toby, no more Medised, no more milk, time to get tough. He cried from 12.30 till 3am. Geared ourselves up for the second night of it last night and he slept 12 hours straight without a whimper. We will see what tonight brings.

I had a late meeting in London tonight so Dh (who has finally got the jeep back just in time too) picked the boys up from nursery, brought them h ome, fed them bathed them, "milked" them and put them to bed all by himself. First time, certainly since I've been back at work. He said they wre as good as gold and he really enjoyed it! Wel done Super Dad.

Things I like about work:

it represents complete and utter freedom to me. I am my own boss more or less, run my own diary, plan my own meetings, come and go pretty much as I please.

i get paid!

i have other things than children to talk about (although inevitably end up talking to everyone about my kids all day anyway, they must be thrilled)

feel like I have a window on the world again, I started to find the world of JUST mothers and babies a bit claustrophobic (although love Thursdays and Fridays when I am back in it again - go figure)

Things I don't like about work:

late meetings in London - I got soaked, my feet are killing me, and had to sit next to a smelly man eating a tuna roll on the tube for 8 stops.

ermmmm......think that's it so far!

Good luck with your job Impy. It is hard to be away from them for so long when you miss them so much. hugs.

Glad things seem brighter Annie!

BTW, I am no further on with potty training TOby. All I have done is left the potties out in plain view, but have not encouraged him to sit on it or even mentioned it. He still tells me when he's done one, or about to do one, but I think we will leave it there for now, don't want to traumatise him!

H is being adorable at the moment - keeps coming up to me and telling me he loves me. Boys are so gorgeous.

Right waffling on now because Liverpool is on the telly, yawn. Haven't even had any wine!

Bloss
