aaw bless Kayley (love her fringe btw)! Emma used to hunch up her shoulder and look at you under her lashes in a flirtatious stylee. At the mo her favourite trick is standing on her little stool and doing a tap dance as if she were on stage (it will end in tears...!)

JiggyJiggy · 10/01/2008 13:18

No idea pixel. It's been along time since I've read those baby books...
K has also had the same teats since she started. Size 2 I think. Drinks very little out of the cup, and absolutely guzzles the bottle. So it's six of one really.

Just had the wet wrap people to fit her balaclave. She didn't object too strongly...

AnnieOleTing · 10/01/2008 13:21

Whoops!

Secret name change foiled!

Don't go peeking now x

JiggyJiggy Annie? What have you been up to????

My PS3 that I ordered from Studio Cards has come tonight so I am beside myself with excitement. Hope I get my money back from Ebay so I can pay for this one.

Off to heat up the Spag Bol.

Love to all.

OK so the news today is.........Toby did a poo on the potty! We went to a toddler group this morning and he started looking at the potty in the loo there while I had a wee so while I changed his nappy and before I put his clean one on I let him sit on it which he loved, but didn't do anything. Then at a friend's house this afternoon, he came up to me and said "Poo Poo" but nothing in his nappy. 2 minutes later he smelt like he'd done one and I realised he'd been trying to tell me! So I ran and got my friend's potty to put his poo in it to form the association and as I took his nappy off realised he was in the process of doing it so put him on the potty and bingo! Cue huge jumping around and praise and a choccie coin! He was SO pleased with himself, my friend couldn't believe it!

In a way I'm gutted cos I really can't face not having the ease of nappies and I know it's early days but looks like it's the start of potty training here...we will see. H was dead early too, done day and night by 2.3, but I had acknowldeged that no kid is the same.

Anyway, probably completely jumping the gun, but was very proud of my baby.

HumphreysCorner · 10/01/2008 22:02

Bloss-that is brill! My friend's DD2 was like this and was using the toilet at 1 yr old but that all passed and she is back to a nappy wearing 2.4 yr old. I was amazed too when she said wee wee and poo poo then asked to be put on the toilet. Was also amazed that she could speak so much a 1 yr being as though my two lazy girls don't rush the talking bit. Emma won't shut up now though.

Morning girls!

Another bad night. Very bad. DH shouted at me and I took Kayley to sleep on the couch with her. She was awake for HOURS. He got grumpy. I got grumpy. When we woke, still on the couch, he had covered me over with a fluffy dressing gown. I dunno.

HC, unfortunately nothing like what you are thinking!! Unless you count the Take That dream... No, I was just being thick on another thread about schools. Wish I could be more mysterious!!
Are you enjoying your PS3??? We had a go of BIL's new Wii over Christmas, it was good fun. MIL beat me at tennis though...

Bloss!!! Toby!!! How amazing! I thought boys were meant to be slow on the uptake when it came to potty training. Joey is still in denial. Kayley however, does say Poo Poo when she's about to do one, but I always think it's not worth training her, as Joey isn't even trained! She crouches down too when she's noodies and looks expectantly at herself... Hmm. Wouldn't it be terrible if she was trained before him!!!
Like I said, maybe I'll do them both together come summer.
Spin, you are forgetting you're not in London. It's not summer for another, em, well, if we're lucky, 9 months or so...

Anyways... best get to work. How comes there's nobody in today?

PS, HC, thanks for reminding me about Peggy. I am a terrible penguin mother...

HumphreysCorner · 11/01/2008 21:39

Annie-can you and DH have a couple of hours alone, maybe go for a drink or a meal so you can talk?

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a good xmas a nd new year. Sorry ive not been around much, I seem to spend most evenings on my new laptop but have ended up looking at facebook and various other things and then its time for bed. I will try and post more regulary.
Not much has happened here. Xmas was good and both LO's enjoyed it. DS is back to waking in the night again. Weve just started CC tonight as everynight hes awake for 2 hrs and is only not crying if you hold him, I think I could cope if he slept in our bed but instead he prefers jumping around and sitting on my head.
Had to call NHS direct on new yrs day as he got hold of antibacterial cleaner I was using to wipe down his highchair. Luckily enough he was fine but makes you think.
He is such a daredevil and always appears to be getting into trouble. He even said rascal the other day. Still only sayiong about 5 understandable words though, he seems to get by on pointing, shouting and just taking you to what he wants(normally the fridge)

prettymum · 11/01/2008 23:00

hey everyone,

my laptop is fixed, i know why i keep messing it up, its because im always downloading different softwares, fiddling about with everything! thats why i keep neglecting you ladies, im becoming obsessed with learning about gadgets and how i can change their softwares/firmwares, becoming an internet freak!!

kbaby, your ds sounds just like junior! he is constantly dragging me to the kitchen for food, when i say no after around the 8th time of me giving hm grapes, he scrunches his face up and pretends to cry!
he also brings me tubs od hair cream i use on their hair, expecting me to open them for him, for him to put all over his face!
he's also climbing everything, he uses their toy bus to reach the kitchen tops and grab spoons nd whatever he can grab!

annie- hope things settle down soon between you and your dh, seems like he's getting stressed from daily house husband duties and taking it out on you. i used to always be like that, but then i realised how he had to drag himself to work, miss out on waking up with dc and only seeing them before bdtime, it was really tough on him too. {{{{hugs}}}

bloss- potty training already, thats brilliant! it took dd till only october when she turned 3 to potty train. she just caught on that one day after giving up afer previous attempts. i dont think im brave enough to even contemplate potty training junior quite yet.

im going to go off and google and facebook and mn more so will be back soon xx

AnnieOleTing · 12/01/2008 11:13

Morning girls,
Another shit night. It's getting boring now for you girls. Last night it was me doing the shouting. I was getting K back to sleep AGAIN, and he tried to take over (nice of him, eh) and I screamed NO, and stormed off to sleep on the couch. I didn't even get to put my pjs on last night! I told him to stop telling me what to do. He shouted something back but I was too busy storming off.
This morning then was normal. Ish. He went off to work as if nothing happened.

HC, it sounds like a good idea to go for a drink as you said, and have a talk, but I know what'll happen, I'll sulk, he'll say sorry, but not know what for, and it'll be the same ole same ole. We have nothing to say to each other.
We have some friends coming round for dinner this evening. There will be lots to drink...

Kbaby, hope you had a nice birthday. It must have been worrying about DS though. Glad he's ok. He sounds just like Kayley at night, jumping around and sitting on my head. Drives me mental.
It will get better, it will get better, it will it will it will...

Pretty, junior sounds hilarious!!!
You're probably right about me and Dh, we're getting on each others tits, cos we're both fed up of no sleep and same ole ding dong. And taking it out on each other.
How did you resolve it though? Did you just realise what was going on?

Well best go, Sainsbury's shop to do, I wonder if six bottles of wine is enough...

HAve a good weekend all

HumphreysCorner · 12/01/2008 22:04

Annie-no it is not getting boring for us. Fire away any time my girl. Hope you can have a nice uneventful evening.

morning.

Annie, it is the lack of sleep I gaurantee it (sp). It just shits all over thr est of your life. Nothing is in persepctive because of it.

Hi KBaby. T wakes at night every night now too. The last two have been at about 10pm just as I want to go to bed and he just screams and screams until I give up and bring him downstairs. I have now completely shelved the medised. He has been having it everynight for weeks it can't be good for him, and this is a behavioural thing not pain (or is it who nows could be teeth...) but drugging is not the answer. Going to have to go to take ages, be very loud and wake H up too and invariably be at 3am so I am completely dreading it.

Annie - my DH is being an arse too. I had fogotten that he had vaguely mentioned going tot he coast on Saturday - and my dad took me by surprise, booked 6 tickets to the panto in our local village hall for yesterday afternoon. Dh hit the roof, said his feelings were never considered and he was never consulted about anything, that he wasn't spending his Saturday afternoon sitting in a "shitty village hall" and that T would be a nightmare and was too young for it. We had a screaming match as I had apologised for forgetting and not checking with him and he still didn't let it go, banged on and on and I will only take so much.

So he went fishing and I took the boys with my mum and dad. They absolutely loved it, H was glued and T danced in the aisle the whole two hours! And my mum won three raffle tickets.

Men can be such arseholes sometimes. And boy can mine hold a grudge.

Have great sundays girls.

Bloss

xx

sorry that should read

MaeWest · 13/01/2008 20:52

Hope last night was better Annie, and that you and DH find some time to sort things out. Sleep deprivation is the absolute pits . Sending (((hugs))) in your direction

Speaking of sleep - last night DH and I had a long tactic talk before we went to bed about how we were going to handle Dom's nightwakings. This was after weeks of broken nights, and the previous night being awake for FOUR BLOODY HOURS with the boy partying in our bed. I'm cool with co-sleeping if it means sleeping, but not if it means happy slapping by toddler. Aaaaanyway, we agreed that I wouldn't feed before 4am, offer water, go in settle, leave to cry, settle again etc. I was ready to do it.....

And then the little sod angel slept thro. And then had a 3 hr nap this afternoon. So all my resolve was for nothing!

Bet he's just lulling me into a false sense of security for tonight tho

PixelHerder · 13/01/2008 22:54

Hi Girls

Annie - how are things today? Hope you can get a chance to chat through things soon. I'm sure Bloss is right about the lack of sleep, and it sounds like you both have a lot to juggle at once which is very hard. But you can do it - sending big hugs and swigs of {{{{fortification}}}}

Mae, Kbaby, Bloss ? good luck and fortifications with your slumbers too xxx

Bloss - the panto sounds fab, bet your DH is gutted he missed it now! at potty training, well done Toby, any more progress? I'm in denial about it, had some vague idea that they stayed in nappies at least till they started school...

Prettymum - Junior does sound very funny Sounds like you'll be a computer whizz before long, you'll have to find a way of making a fortune from it!

Spin ? lol at Pixi, well you?ve seen my not terribly pixie-like physique, I guess I could be a virtual pixie tho?

HC ? hope you get the ebay thing resolved, what a bummer Hope the new version?s working well though.

Emma?s got a tummy bug of some sort at the mo ? had a very uncharacteristic puke this morning, followed by a hideous curry sauce nappy [bleargh] ? seems happy enough in herself though. Took her shoe shopping yesterday, she was in seventh heaven running around the shoe aisles ?shooooz!!!? Bought her a pair of pink size 4 wellies, not sure how successful they will be - DH?s description of her walking in them, ?she looks like Douglas Bader? is uncannily apt .

She loves her Christmas singing Iggle Piggle and takes him to bed ? as I type I can hear ?Yes, my name is Iggle Piggle... squeak squeakity squeak squawk cluck" (or whatever the hell that noise is supposed to be) coming through the baby monitor? life with a toddler is certainly surreal sometimes!

G?night girls, sending sleepy vibes xxx

MaeWest · 14/01/2008 10:40

at Douglas Bader comment

Well, one wake up last night at around 3.30. Was determined not to get him out of the cot, managed to persuade him to lie down (did have to briefly get in with him tho) and then lay on the floor of his room while he went to sleep. Took nearly 90 mins . Then I'd just got back to sleep after 5ish and he woke at 6. Gave him a feed, chucked him back in the cot and he slept until 7.30. Don't know if this is achieving anything. Still, will try and stick to the no milk before 6am rule if poss.

Must go as he has been sitting on the sofa watching Pingu with a beaker of milk to keep him quiet for far too long... this could be damaging to my earth mother credentials .

AnnieOleTing · 14/01/2008 10:57

Morning girls!

Mae, sounds like fun at night. Not. At least you are trying, eh!? Agree with you whole-heartedly about the co-sleeping, if it means sleeping. Not four hours of head-sitting, bum shuffling, feet poking madness.
It seems to be improving for you though? One step at a time.

PixelChick (??) Thanks. Things are ok again. We haven't had a chat or anything, but the mood seems to have lifted. On saturday, we drank lots, and once everyone had left, I burst in tears and he shouted at him to just tell him what was up. I didn't want to talk to him like that though, so I just ran off... stupid I know. He decided to sleep on the couch then, to save me from it, which I told him was stupid, as I would have nowhere to go when K was awake!! Anyway that was just him being dramatic.
Sobbed a bit in bed, then must have conked. Next thing I knew both him and K were asleep in the bed next to me!
Woke up on Sunday, in a much better mood, and things have been calm and normal since...
So I don't know what's going on. He seems to be tip-toeing around me now anyway!

What I was most happy about, was that Joey and Kayley both ate some of my leftover Mexican yesterday!!!

Pixel, I don't know who Douglas Bader is, but I bet Emma is just the cutest in those wellies!! Also have Iggle Piggle fans here.
Or Booboos (Tombiliboos).

Bloss, thanks re the sleep thing. I know you're right! How is your DH, with his fishing? I'm glad you enjoyed your panto. You were right!!

HC and spin, thanks for all the hugs!!

Need to get a grip now really.

Oh I went and got my haircut on Friday in an attempt to cheer myself up!! She said a Victoria Beckham type bob would suit me. I laughed at her, but it turned out quite nice. Now I just need to lose around seven stone and David will be after me...

x

ceebee74 · 14/01/2008 13:26

Annie ? sounds like things might be on the up again! Yum ? Mexican leftovers, my favourite ? wish Josh would eat Mexican food! Have you got a photo of your new hair ? it sounds lovely Plus, why would you namechange on an Education thread

Bloss ? wow at Toby and the potty ? no wonder you are so proud!

Kbaby/Bloss ? we started doing CC with Josh a couple of weeks ago as he suddenly started refusing to go in his cot at bedtime and naptime and also waking up in the middle of the night, and then refusing to go back in his cot ? it worked like a dream within a few days and we never had more than 5 minutes of crying at any time. Now, he goes in his cot happily at bed and nap time and rarely wakes up in the night ? I felt awful doing it though

Pixel ? we have the Douglas Bader walk here too Josh has got some Thomas wellies which are slightly too big but he insists on having them on and then ?walking round the house with them! Not brave enough to try them outside yet as they have a habit of slipping off his feet.

Josh is also a big ?giga giga? (that is Iggle Piggle to you and me) fan ? he has a little one which he has in his cot and he is always picking it up and giving it a cuddle ? very sweet!

Hi to everyone else ? hope you are all ok.
