Afternoon

Good news about the baby Daisy....sounds very familiar...contracting every 5-10 mins and emergency CS ....what did she have?

Eskimo's are actually very ethical about their use of animals....they only kill what they need and use every single last bit of it...

My DD has slept most of the day....calpol is amazing stuff....for once I'm just letting her sleep as much as she wants....

I'm cooking shortbread in the oven and christmas pudding ice-cream in the ice-cream maker....am I a domestic godess or what??? ....if only I could motivate myself to wrap some pressies

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 16:44

you are truly a domestic goddess norty, am rather

Daisy, glad your friend and baby are ok

Am worn out after a hard days shopping with the girls , but was a good time

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 12/12/2007 16:59

Hi foxy

I bet it's getting a bit over excitable in your house? DS is bouncing off the walls here!

I bought a fibre optic tree today, a white one (Oh how I hated them in the 70s) and it's got red baubles on....just a wee one as our main tree is in the hall as there was no space in the living room, but we couldn't have NO decorations in the living room. I've splashed some tinsel and lights around as well and hung giant glittery baubles from the curtain rail.

We can take the wee one with us on holiday as well.

My freind had a boy....named after a famous blue tank engine

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 12/12/2007 17:00

being kicked off computer by DS....Lego Bionicles website is calling him.

Funny about the fur, I'm a veggie too apart from fish, I'm happy to wear leather so why not fur? Like Foxy I'd just feel uncomfortable, I just find it creepy in a Cruella de Ville kind of way. My (slightly eccentric) neighbour does her gardening in a fur jacket in winter.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 17:58

Is it because leather comes from animals that are killed for meat (thus making use of the hide from an animal that would be killed anyway) while furs tend to come from animals that are not eaten so the fur is the sole reason for the killing? I may be totally wrong about the fur animals, so please don't shoot me down, it is just a hypothesis.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 18:02

btw I also find fur slightly creepy, though I eat meat and wear leather.

Sputnik · 12/12/2007 18:11

That's probably it Jammy, they are awash in bad karma. Vintage furs should be cut up and made into little coats for cold squirrels or something

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 18:51

I don't think that fur is any worse than meat. People do not need to eat meat to survive, neither do they need to wear furs (unless an eskimo or such). I would def wear vintage fur on principle, but I agree on the creepiness front! Though feeling like Cruella de Vil sometimes could be quite a good thing!

The last lot of Christmas pressies just arrived, including my SS gift. I'm v excited now, I love Christmas! Gonna go shopping sans kids with bf tomorrow eve and put up decs on fri.

HURRAH FOR CHRISTMAS!!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 19:42

mmmm curry sounds lovely.........did you watch Gordon Ramsey last night? He was at a curry house....

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 19:46

Have a good meal JBM.

Been thinking more about ehy fur is creepy. Agree that Cruella imagery doesn't help. Also, I suspect that many people find furry animals cuter (and therefore the killing of them is more wrong) than cows.

Can i be arsed to wrap presents tonight? Not yet at least, maybe later

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 19:47

Hi Jammy - good meet-up with Bumper and Fury?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 19:52

Hi Norty, yes it was good. Am knackered now though. Wandering round the shops is obviously hard work.

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 19:57

Sounds great.....I'm very ....cabin fever here!

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 12/12/2007 20:12

I'm going to kill my DS and wear his bloody skin if he doesn't go to sleep. He has been up every five minutes since 7 o'clock and is starting to irritate me ever so slightly .

He is going to be unbearable by Christmas.

Glad you had a good day Jammy, and I hope DD is better and you can get out soon Norty.

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 20:15

Does he know Santa only comes to good boys that go to sleep? .....god what's he going to be like next week???

Hope to go out tomorrow, dose of calpol, lots of clothes, warm hat and a full tummy and I'm sure she'll be fine ....at least the explosive liquid poos seem to have died down

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 12/12/2007 20:25

I think I need to be Gok'd - he always manages to make everyone look so much better. But I'd never go on the programme in a million years, so I'll just have to dream.

Sorry to hear DS is being a pain, Daisy - can't help there I'm afraid, as DD is still in her cot and will be there until she's 17, if I have my way

Norty, glad to hear DD is on the mend, if not better yet. DS has been sneezing all afternoon and very very wet poos today so we may well be joining you in cabin fever tomorrow

Norty, glad you had a good meet up. Did you get any bargains?

Everyone else, Hellooooo

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 12/12/2007 20:29

bugger...I forgot about gok.....is there a channel 4 + 1 on cable?

Norty, I tried that one...no effect. I told him Santa wouldn't come at all, to which he replied, you don't know, you're not the boss of Santa. smarty.bloody.trousers that he is

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 12/12/2007 20:34

I hate it when they have an answer to everything, my DD is just starting that. Sometimes I feel like shouting "I am the mummy and you have to do what I say, so there" but somehow I don't think it would work!

No idea about C4+1 I'm afraid

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 20:37

There is a C4+1 on Sky...don't know about cable tho....

He sounds like a spirited little boy Daisy .....god, give me a few years and I'll be tearing my hair out I expect

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 20:37

I got some Xmas shopping bargains, and a couple of bits for DD, but think I'd got the best bits for her last time

DD's too young to get Santa Excitement, but she's just woken for the 2nd time since going down at 6.45 Have just given her a milk top up, teething gel and a smear of lavender and chamomile around the chops - meant to help with teething and will hopefully also be soothing. If this doesn't work she gets Calpol!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 20:39

when I was a kid, my mum and dad, in answer to the question "Why" (said in a very whiny voice) used to say "because I said so".....that really used to piss me off.....being a child is very fustrating sometimes.......

An ex of mine who I've not heard of in ages but have recently got back in touch with, sent pics of his little girl and stories about her. She's really into Scooby Doo, and when he told her off for picking stuff up off the street, that it was dirty, she just said that Scooby picks up clues and doesn't worry about if they are dirty. As he said, how do you argue with that kind of logic?
