Sputnik · 11/12/2007 22:12

I always wonder about that with the gels, and suspect half of it just gets swallowed as a lump.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 22:15

are you looking forward to your trip home Sputnik?.....'tis fecking cold here mind. You will be . I had to scrape the ice off the car this morning and it took ages for the squishers to defrost.

bumper, I hope your car is back on the road soon, and ouch about a big pre christmas garage bill.

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 22:25

I'm really looking forward to it. I promised myself years ago no more xmas in italy, they don't do it properly! My sis said it's cold too. It's cold here as well but not icy.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 22:29

I feel the same way about New Year in England....they just don't do that properly either

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 22:37

New year is quite good here, there's lots of fireworks and where we live you can see for miles. That said I had the crappiest new year ever last year, went to MIL's, it was just us and i was knackered, pg, miserable and dropped a chair on my toe. We came home early and I was too knackered even to watch the fireworks.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 22:42

they do fireworks well here, but everyone goes back to work on the 2nd...it's not much of a holiday with just the one day off; most Scots are still drunk on the 2nd

I need some shopping help Sputnik. DD needs a new snowsuit/all-in-one and MIL wants to get it for Christmas. Her current one is a John Rocha one that we got given by BIL/SIL and is gorgeous. I haven't seen anything I like so far (or compares with the John Rocha)

Evening!
Nice to have you back Daisy - Your poor Mum seems to be resigned now, but at least you can all say what needs to be said. Did you get all the old stories out of her?

Have a good meet up tomorrow Bumper/Fury and Jammy.

Sputnik, I sure some of my Mums family used to live in Aberg whatsit!! I'll ask my Mum and let you know.

Poor old L, DP didnt strap her in to her chair tonight, as he was attempting to move the chair , she fell out onto the laminate floor - she's got a big red lump on her forehead now - bless - Hope the HV doesnt report me to SS tomorrow!

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 23:01

Ouch poor L!

Daisy, did you look on jojo or this velour one? can't think of anywhere else at the mo, and off to bed.

justbeme · 11/12/2007 23:02

and me - night xx

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 23:02

hey jbm...accidents happen. When DS was small I was swinging him in his car seat and he landed on the floor as he wasn't strapped in, and recently I tripped up the stairs with DD and she caught a glancing blow to the side of her head

We had quite a chat, mum and I. I found out that my Dad had had a job lined up in New Zealand back in 1961, but chickened out of emigrating at the last minute. Mum was saying that she never forgave him for it, as they could have had a much better life over there.....I'll bloody say! Also that although the family joke has been that I was an "accident", it turns out that they never ever used contraception, so I was more inevitable than accidental! She was really tired a lot of the time though, and kept nodding off, which made conversations a bit difficult.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 23:03

saw thiss.....opinions please?

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 11/12/2007 23:04

In a grouchy mood. Just need some space and am feeling overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I have to do and the lack of time to do it. I'm really sorry I've not sent SS off yet - I will do it soon promise. I also have 2 unsent gifts for the MN appeal that I haven't sent.

So much to do before xmas!

Jammy and Fury if you have any probs text me as won't have to mnet tomorrow as it's going to take me 45 mins to walk to the station tomorrow
Arghh it's 11pm and I am still up. DD refused to bf tonight so had to give her ebm and now expressing not very successfully

JBM hope L is ok. Bet DH feels terrible!

Daisy hope you are ok, you are coping brilliantly, as is your mum. Thinking of you. It's so shit

night all.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 23:36

bumper...sorry I missed you. I'm sorry the feeding is still an issue and wish I knew what to suggest, so I'm just sending you some {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

I've also got SS pressies to send and the MN Christmas appeal too.

(all those with pressies strike bumper and me off your list of possible senders)

I feel like a right tight mummy now, having seen those snow suits that people have suggested - DD's was £9 from TKMAX

Tricksy baby here, woke more than I'd like last night (didn't eat properly yesterday, so hungry I suspect), ended up in our bed at 5.40. And not very hungry this morning. Hope a walk to the station and round the shops makes her snooze so she'll be in a better mood later and eat decently so we don't repeat again tonight.

HellHathNoFury · 12/12/2007 08:50

Jammy no worries I am tight too. DS is generally exclusively kitted out in anything that's (a) on sale (b) a gift (c) secondhand from ebay

Although I have permission from DH to spend it up right nice today

I never see the point in spending lots of money, he grows out of it in 10 minutes and he only ever voms on it anyway!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/12/2007 08:54

I see we share some opinions on baby clothing there Fury

Morning all

Daisy Your mum sounds a lovely person and at peace with herself.....I really hope she gets her wish of spending Christmas with her family....{{{{{hugs}}}}}

Well, when I went into DD this morning, there was only snot around her nose, rather than ALL over her face as there was yesterday and she had a WET nappy rather than a liquid poo one - YAY .....first wee since last Friday....however the cold has really come out and she has a dreadful cough so have another day off work today!

I haven't been out of the house since Friday so also haven't done my SS I'm afraid ...I know what I want to get, I just can't get out of the house......now is not the time for on-line shopping either as delivery times are so long.... so bear with me....I will post as soon as I can....

TinselTrace2 · 12/12/2007 09:08

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 09:46

Have a good meet-up Bumper, Jammy and Fury

Hi Trace .....why did you have to take Chole off her medication? Glad she seems to settling down...

Did they get anyone for the body outside your house?

Advice please? What can I put under DDs nose....she is very sore from such a runny nose and cries every time I wipe it....can I use vaseline? Sudocream? (that would look nice )....

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 09:49

OMG I am the coldest bear in all the woods! My heating is on full and I am still freezing. The dcs are wrapped up to within an inch of their lives, but their little hands and faces are like ice! I live in a big Victorian house with no insulation or double glazing and not enough radiators! Brrrr....(that is a cold face not a sad one!).

I have not posted the SS yet, I am still waiting for it to arrive from the place I ordered it from.

Trace, hope chloe is ok xx

Daisy, this is lovely and in the sale!

Norty, gld dd is better!

I am also from the fury school of kids' clothing! I wait for the sales and stock up for the next 6months. Also charidy shops are a fave haunt of mine, as is TKMaxx!
