Norty, I just use E45 or just plain aqueous cream for sore noses.

Thanks Holly - have some of that upstairs - shall go and get it now

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't sorted/posted SS....its beginning to worry me but I just can't get out while she's like this.

It is bloody cold today....my heating is on constant and my feet are still cold....gas bill will be interesting

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 09:57

I'm going to worry about the gas bill when it arrives! TBH though I may as well switch the heating off, it doesn't semm to be making much difference!

Love the snowsuit from Blooming btw and the one you found Daisy...

I haven't got anything like that for DD....as MHC said, she's always in the car or cosytoes in the buggy.... ....perhaps I'm not keeping her warm enough?

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 10:00

Well quite...bollocks to the bills....I'm not being cold.....

Must make a little bit of difference Holly...you'd have ice inside your windows otherwise (I used to live in a flat that got ice inside).....have you got a convector fire you can plug in and keep just one room really warm? My DH always moans cos I like the house VERY warm....

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 10:03

I've got one of these instead of a footmuff. It is much better as it actually keeps ds warm rather than sliding down the pushchair and generally pissing me off (I hate footmuffs)! Ds also needs his arms wrapped up to go to sleep and this does the job really well! In fact it is one of the best baby things I've ever bought (I got it £10 cheaper from an ebay shop)!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 10:06

I suppose it must make some difference, but not a lot! I've got one of those little plug in heaters, but I don't want to use it in case ds gets it!

Dd can get out of her cot! She did it yesterday morning for the first time and she came to join us in bed at 4 this morning! I think it may be time for a big girl bed!

BadZelda · 12/12/2007 10:15

Good morning - it's busy on here today isn't it?

I'm with jammy and fury on snowsuits - LO's came off freecycle as did her cot. Mothercare do some good ones too if you want one off the highstreet?

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't got SS sorted then! I've got a child-free (writing) day today...so if I can tear myself away from the novel for an hour I'll buzz down the shops and get it sorted. Honest!

BadZelda · 12/12/2007 10:17

That looks cool holly. We got a red castle one that has a split leg/foot part, so you can use it cycling as well as in the buggy...but it's mysteriously disappeared recently...most annoying!

BadZelda · 12/12/2007 10:41

Erk: DD2 is 6 months old today! Where has that gone?

Sputnik · 12/12/2007 11:12

We have something like that too Holly, called a bundle me, a friend in the US gave it to us. It's really useful as we go everywhere by car so getting a baby into a snowsuit at destination is impractical. He just keeps normal clothes plus that. If it wsa really cold I'd add cot or poncho.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 11:14

Erk indeed BZ!

Sputnik, you would add a cot to keep ds warm?! Wouldn't that be a bit heavy?

Please tell me to piss off!

Sputnik · 12/12/2007 11:16

coat, that is

Sputnik · 12/12/2007 11:18

Far too much info in that post. Asked for it to be deleted. Durrrr!

foxythesnowman · 12/12/2007 11:32

Blimey, that was quick! Thanks!

Phew, hope nobody saw ...

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 11:33

Oh missed it Foxy.....what did I miss?

BadZelda · 12/12/2007 11:36

What's up Foxy? Spoiler on your SS?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/12/2007 12:36

Hmmmm...little question for you girlies...would you wear fur?

There is a thread about this atm and it got me thinking.

My mum has loads of vintage fur coats from my grandma and I would wear them if I thought I could get away with it! I would NEVER buy a new fur, but I would def wear an old one. I hate the thought of anything going to waste and if a fur coat sits in a wardrobe for year after year I think this is a waste.

I am a veggie as well!

OP posts:
HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 12/12/2007 14:19

Mmmm not sure I could Holly.....strange isn't it....I'm not a veggie and have quite liberal views about a lot of things animals wise (as a scientist)....but don't think I could bring myself to wear fur.....but tbh I don't like fake fur either.....don't do hunting either but do try and listen to the other side of the story....I shall go and have a look for the thread.....

DD has just done a (mostly) solid poo .....then sneezed her vegetables ALL over me

foxythesnowman · 12/12/2007 14:41

Yep, it was a SS spoiler - had a rant then realised it might give the game away! Anyway, suffice to say sending the SS has a slight delay.

Totally understand what you are saying Holly. It doesn't seem right to bin vintage fur, but I'd never wear it. I wouldn't be comfortable in it.

So, what do you do with old fur? My mum has a coat and wants rid of it, but doesn't want to bin it either. Anyone know?

foxythesnowman · 12/12/2007 14:43

HOLLY if anyone can help, you can

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 12/12/2007 14:51

fake fur....yes; real fur NO, unless it was ethically farmed (if ethical fur farms exist ), or I was an eskimo

my friend had her baby . After contracting every 5-10 mins since Sunday, she had an em c-section at 6:45 this morning. Poor love, I hope she is OK and it hasn't put her off having any more.

foxy what did you write???? edited highlights please!

foxythesnowman · 12/12/2007 14:53

Hey Daisy! Good to see you again. Hope you are bearing up, and your mum is doing OK. Been thinking about you.

Just a rant over a delivery, that's all. But would be too obvious to the recipient. I am annoyed that she won't get her pressie sooner rather than later though.
