Bugger me Fury .
Could she not hold some of it over kind of thing til you find a new job? Sorry, you'd probably rather not talk about it!

HellHathNoFury · 11/12/2007 11:41

No it's ok, I don't mind.
I threatened to sue my agency for not giving me sufficient notice (and thus I could not give her sufficient notice) and we ended up quoting clauses to each other.

In the end they agreed to give me £100 for me to shut up and go away which I accepted (We can't afford to actually pursue it further legally!) but I am still waiting to see it!

HellHathNoFury · 11/12/2007 11:42

CM got her cheque, glad to be rid of her TBH

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 11/12/2007 11:54

Good god - £650.....

think I'm in the wrong job!

Mid you, bet the girls who look after DD all day don't get the £38 I pay.....they're probably on not much more than minimum wage....

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 11/12/2007 11:56

Oooohhhh just got my Xmas Radio Times through the door....off to see what delights are on the tele over Xmas....better clear the Sky + first

Anyone heard from Daisy? Wonder how she's doing?

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 12:33

Hi Norty. Hope that cheered you up. Sorry to hear your DD is ill again, I can sympathise. So, anything good on for xmas? I'll be in the UK at my parent's.

foxythesnowman · 11/12/2007 14:33

Hey Sputnik - am I right in thinking that's Cardiff? I'm due a trip to Bristol over the festive season, think we could catch up?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 11/12/2007 15:12

fury at the child minder fees.

Hope everyone else is ok. I have cabin fever today - we're in again and the dcs are doing my head in. I've sucuumbed to the tv after having out the trains, cars, paints, planes...

Just noticed there is now a and . Have someone calling over now so will catch up tonight.

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 16:21

Not really Cardiff but S.Wales Foxy, but we fly to Bristol. But unless you fancy a meet up at about 10.30 pm at Bristol airport....
After that don't think I could get much further than Cardiff on the train, unless you fancy a drive to Abergavenny (it's a nice little town )

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 11/12/2007 16:23

Have just confirmed with nursery when DD is going to start. It's only 6.5 weeks away

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 11/12/2007 16:44

Ahhh Jammy.....I know exactly how you feel....it's only been a week for us (and she's not there this week ).....but I know already I've done the right thing......you'll be fine and so will DD.....mind you, no-one could convince me of that two weeks ago so {{{{hugs}}}}

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 11/12/2007 16:45

Shrek 2 is on Xmas Day......I have a child now so NO excuse not to watch it

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 17:01

DD will be happy about Shrek 2. Not that we haven't seen it a zillion times

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 17:17

I've just spent the entire day with my crappy internet connection on snapfish making calendars and photo fridge magnets for various relatives. If any of you are disorganised like me and still have gifts to sort, snapfish are doing 25% off for duplicates and 3 for 2 on gifts til tomorrow midnight - I saved quite a lot on my order.

Having children has at least resolved once and for all the problem of what to give my Grandma for xmas

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 11/12/2007 17:21

Oh thanks Sputnik....gonna have a look at that site...I've used pixmania before for photo's in glass cubes...y'know like lasered in IYKWIM....

When are you coming over to the UK? Do you stay long?

I'd love to go away for Xmas....I have both my mum and MIL Xmas Day....that'll be fun

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 17:26

They're a bit more expensive than pixmania but better quality, at least for the calendars and photobooks

Coming on the 20th for a week. Usually don't come for more than a week as DH goes stir crazy: my parents live in a tiny hamlet where the most exciting thing to do is walk to the pond and look at the ducks.

Sputnik · 11/12/2007 17:41

Yay MHC
By some miracle Baby Sputnik slept from 9 til 7 last night. The first time ever and probably the last, so I'd like to record it for posterity
DD didn't wake either, but I did of course.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 11/12/2007 18:24

yay for sleeping babies!

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2007 18:26

just read everything since last week and have promptly forgotten it all.

I'm home again.

We had a good trip, but mum not that great. We are at the every day is a blessing stage , but still she is in a great frame of mind, and sits in her chair cracking jokes when she isn't sleeping.

I also managed to get most of my Christmas shopping sorted too...just some bits for my neice and nephews adn for DH to go.

I'm a bit late with the secret santa.....it will be posted this week sometime though!

sorry to hear about poorly DCs all round. DD still spotty; looks like eczema on her face too; am off to Harrogate tomorrow to get SOS cream (closest stockist) and to go to Cotswold for DH for socks (what a romantic pressie, eh? )

the boys put the Christmas tree up as a surprise whilst I was away...and they made a good job of it!

Oh, and can we all send some labour vibes to my friend....she has been contracting every 5-10 mins since Sunday evening....and is still only 1 or 2 cms dilated. Looks like her bub is just too comfy in there! She's booked in for an induction tomorrow, but hopefully things will have moved since then.....she's already broken one tens machine!

yay baby mhc and sputnik.

sputnik i am about an hour or so along the a40 from your parents so if you venture anywhere in that direction let me know!

and foxy, same goes for you in "Brizzle", i'm not far off there.

Shitty shitty shite, my car isn't fixed yet. needs more work done . Fuck, needs the water pump replaced now. then who knows what. crap shitey bollocks!

jammy, what time does your train get in tomorrow. mine gets in at 10.38, you want to meet at the station?

on the upside, I got my SS prezzy today! v excited!

HellHathNoFury · 11/12/2007 18:37

11 at starbucks then?

MHC, no the CM wasn't great. 3 nappy changes in 11 hours was her speciality, as was never putting the lids back on his food jars properly thus staining all his clothes carrot orange. Also, she often forgot to feed him (for some reason he doesn't ask for food much) and one day he came home only having had 10oz in 11 hours.

And despite me leaving her with a change of clothes he always came home utterly filthy.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 11/12/2007 18:39

IF it's on time, I should get ther 10.31, so yes will wait for you Bumper, just inside station entrance

Daisy, sorry to hear about your Mum.

Yay for snoozy babies - MHC - mine had her best nap for ages too, even if it was on my lap

Oooh, DH home by sounds of it, better go look interested in the shopping...
