deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 01/12/2007 22:47

Ooooo, hey catkin! Hope you are well, but it's a hi and bye from me I'm afraid. I'm bloody knackered!

Sputnik · 01/12/2007 22:48

I'm so senile I didn't notice the thread was full, again, and neither can I remember my first concert. Used to go and see a lot of obscure punk bands at the sea cadet's hall.

justbeme · 01/12/2007 22:50

Well, Ive been on here all night- so Im off now (now Ive found you!!) xx

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 01/12/2007 22:51

Ahh but do you remember your 1st record?

LOL Sea Cadet Hall

Foxy - Adam Ant isn't nearly as scrummy as he was back in those days....

It still makes me smile when I see my nieces etc in New Look buying shoes that I was wearing at their age....now that makes me sound old

Off now...night all x

GO TO BED SPUTNIK

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2007 06:29

Well, what a f'ing awful night!! DD woke 4 times and I brought her downstairs at 6am as she obviously wasn't going to sleep any more, and wouldn't play with teddy in her cot. Some of the time at least I don't think she was really hungry, just upset. POssibly not liking the dark (we leave a light on outside her room so she gets a little light coming in round the edge of the door but not much)? So I think we're going to get a night-light to try. But also, both of us (DH gallantly got up the 4th time) managed to get her settled, put her down, see her fall asleep and then start crying and twitching her arms in her sleep.

Looking at what I missed last night, I felt pretty old. I was really into Duran Duran, definitely a JT girl. Never saw them though. I was really late in going to concerts, partly through having fairly old-fashioned parents (not complaining though!) and also growing up in Norwich no decent bands ever came there. My first "gig" was Curiosity Killed The Cat - how uncool does that sound now? First record? I think it was also Remember You're A Womble. I've still got it somewhere, it had a picture to colour in on the back Oh and as for libido - an occasional glimmer but nothing to write home about (not that I'm in the habit of writing to my parents about my libido!), and no energy to follow up a glimmer anyway, much to DH's despair.

Sorry about your awful night Jammy! Hope the night light works. Actually I saw one in the little green earthlets catalogue (also have a website) that looked petty cool, wasn't too expensive and cost pennies to run.
here it is

catkinisamummynow · 02/12/2007 08:55

pretty cool, not petty!
Hurdi, hope the pukiness not too horrendous? DS has had a couple of sickness bugs so far - I always thought I was an emetophobe but I seem to manage OK! I always remember one of the kids in my class puking and me bursting into tears and running out of the room!!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2007 08:58

Some sleep - thankfully I go to bed quite early, so I got about 6 hours in total, but divided into 4 chunks, which makes it about half as efficient in my books. Like I said, when she woke for the 5th time at 6am I gave up and just brought her downstairs.

Have just had the pleasure (!?) of watching her poo mid nappy change, oh the joys of motherhood. DH is at least getting up now though to share the fun.

We took some cheesy Xmas photos yesterday
(to send out in cards), with us all wearing our santa hats, but arsed them up so got to do a re-run this afternoon. Shame, as I was looking forward to a 'jama day. Still i can slob around until photo time at least

catkinisamummynow · 02/12/2007 09:11

Have fun slobbing - I'm meeting a friend at the metrocentre so had better go and get dressed before DS wakes up!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2007 09:18

I've seen those, but might be that we take a run out (bah, another reason to get dressed ) to Woolies and see what they've got in stock so we can give it a go tonight.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2007 09:19

Have fun at the metrocentre, haven't been there for years. Must say I don't envy you a day there in the run up to Xmas

Sputnik · 02/12/2007 09:27

Jammy, I think we have already established that we share excellent musical taste (talking about the Wombles obviously not Curiosity killed the Cat)

Sorry to hear about your night. Baby Sputnik went into uncontrollable screaming mode last night around the time I went to bed, his cheeks were really red so I think it was teeth. I gave him some paracetamol and he slept next to me, as opposed to in the sidecar, and that seemed to work, I don't think he woke again til morning (always a bit fuzzy on that). DD stayed in her own bed, yay!

Morning all

Poor you Jammy....hope you get a nightlight and that it works....I was up a couple of times giving her back her dummy....I find giving her a light blanket as a comforter really helps as well....when she was singing at 6.30am, I did give up though and go and get her and vainly tried to have another half hour in bed but she was laughing and bashing the cat so we got up

Ohhhh no....don't do shops on a Sunday at this time of year.....god IKEA was bad enough....

PMSL Wombles.....I used to love the wombles as a kid.....they're not around any more are they? Think Paddington still is....I bought the book for DD and me and DH enjoyed it more than she did!

Off to fill my cupboards in the kitchen ...tiling not finished but at lease I can get some of this crap out of my dining room!

Sputnik · 02/12/2007 10:18

Do you think we should have a Wombles revival? They were pioneers of recycling and would be a good example to the younger generation I think.

I have found having kids a great excuse for nostalgia, DD has the Clangers and Mr Ben on DVD, she loves them!

Glad you're finally getting your kitchen back. I should really do some house tidying....

Elsbells · 02/12/2007 10:25

Good morning all. Is everyone getting into the Christmas spirit?

I can't believe I am saying this, but I am officially shopped out. I did the unthinkable and went shopping in town yesterday. Oxford St was closed down (thank god) so made walking a bit less busy. I was in town from 8:30am-7pm!!! No DC's with me which was weird but I didn't mind too much when I settled at Kettner's for a glass (er, 2) of bubbly.

I can't believe some of the DC's on this thread are crawling! DD has rolled once. Must admit, I am in no hurry for any movement. Running after DS is keeping me trim and tired as it is.

Hope everyone has a good morning. We are seeing Santa so guess I should shower and put some lippy on.
