HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 08/12/2007 22:25

Wow, didn't take long to catch up

God what a day I've had....kitchen was finished today and it looks FAB....DH and DD have got the D&V bug.....Poor DDs nappies ....we have just come back from the emergency docs as she hasn't had a wee all day.....no liquid left in her body I don't think ....anyway doctor said she isn't dehydrated yet and I'm to give her rehydration salts....I've got through 6 vests and 6 babygro's today...

Hope you've all had better days....

love the festive smileys

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 22:53

Hi Norty
Glad to hear you've your kitchen sorted; must be nice to be able to live in it again. Sorry to hear about D & V. I've had poorly LO for a couple of days. She's on the mend now, but has a nasty cough.
Was a bit freaked when I took at nappy off that she'd had on for a couple of hours totally dry...then DH suggested putting her on the potty - and hey presto: a big wee! She did the same thing again the next nappy change. There was a programme on radio 4 about a woman who got her babies dry super early by looking for their signals which gave him the idea, and LO doesn't like being in a dirty nappy. Still quite gobsmacked though.

andiemisletoe · 09/12/2007 15:01

afternoon all

norty glad kitchen is finished sorry everyone else is poorly though hope nappy situation improves

bz that potty training thing is the most lentilly weavery thing I have ever come across it has a special name which I can't think of at the mo but hey if you want pee and poop all over the house you go girrrrl [grin[

xmas fair was good but we were at school from 9 till 3 so am pretty knackered today everyone looks tired in our house
am off to write some xmas cards while the mood is upon me catch up later

Sputnik · 09/12/2007 18:18

It's called elimintion communiction I think. I have a friend who has done it. She keeps the baby in nappies but basically they're rarely used. Her baby must be about 18 months now, must check in with her and ask if she's fully potty trained by now.

I think it's quite cool, but then I'm going to buy a mooncup

BadZelda · 09/12/2007 18:59

Ah that was the name of it. And sputnik's right - you don't have to let them run around nappyless, but I guess you can, more, if you know when they've been? Hasn't been repeated today, though, so maybe it was just a fluke.
She did eat munch down an astonishing number of roasted parsnips today at lunch so the next lot of nappies should be...interesting.

Quiet today isn't it?

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 09/12/2007 19:10

Hello, wow that didn't take long to catch up. Is everyone else still away?

Illness in this house too unfortunately. Dd has thrown up twice and had lots of dodgy nappies this weekend. She's also been totally disinterested in eating. Very frustrating as she is otherwise absolutely fine but she can't go to nursery with her dodgy tum, and we've had to cancel her friends coming over for tea tomorrow as well.

Well done andiem on the christmas fair.
I'm not keenon the early elimination raining myself, or mooncups (eww)

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 09/12/2007 19:11

hmm, I guess the sad face doesn't get a festive hat?

Just noticed your kitchen is finished Norty - hooray, you must be so pleased/relieved.

foxythesnowman · 09/12/2007 21:07

Evening! Isn't it amazing how much you get done when you don't MN?!

Of course, I'm back on here this evening and already have burnt the pizza

justbeme · 09/12/2007 21:08

Evening!
Ohh dont forget to put pics on FB re kitchen Norty! - (Sorry about K being ill).

Had A FB Message from Tallulah - she's still in Australia - heres her message:

My hubby is from here & is working in the family business. We were s'posed to be home in the next couple of weeks but have to stay longer due to his work commitments. So won't be home for Xmas or New Year. I am of the Bah Humbug brigade so the Xmas thing not issue for me but I really feel for my folks who were looking fw to Eilidh's 1st Xmas. Plus I am homesick despite the lovely weather here.

Eilidh is coming on a treat - just started her on solids the other day- so far so good. She is sleeping well since we attended sleep clinic here & got some help with training. Has gone from no naps to 2 a day plus regularly sleeps 11 or so hrs at night. What a difference. Not crawling yet but sitting up on her own for short time & can roll over but usually can't be arsed. How's Lucy doing?

Phew - you can tell I'm missing MN, bet you regret ever asking the qust!

Please say Hi to all the girls from me,
Pamela x

So she's a fellow "Bah"!! - I like her!!

foxythesnowman · 09/12/2007 21:11

Ah you might both be 'bah's' but you succummed to the festive !

Great to hear from her.

How are you doing JBM? Any news on lo's weight-gain?

Evening Foxy and MHC!
No no news on L weight - Im to get her weighed after Xmas! She is quite diddy though! She absolutley loves lumps of banana and sits there with an open mouth like alittle bird!
Foxy , let me know if Ikea is heaving will you - as I need to go there to get a highchair.

foxythesnowman · 09/12/2007 21:24

I got my stuff on line in the end - go in the evening and its far better. I got the cheapo one, but its quite wide and gets in the way a bit. LO is still a bit little for it, but the others are desperate for her to join them at the table.

Sputnik · 09/12/2007 21:26

Nice to hear from Tallulahbelle

justbeme · 09/12/2007 21:26

yes its the cheap one I want (but you cant get that on line either)
Got your tree up?
DD1 and I did ours today - now my living room looks well cluttered!!!

justbeme · 09/12/2007 21:27

Hello Sputnik!!
Whatve you been up to?

foxythesnowman · 09/12/2007 21:27

Hullo Sputnik.
Hullo MHC.

foxythesnowman · 09/12/2007 21:32

I've done the pre-crimbo clear out. One half of my living room looks suitable for adults. The other looks like a car-boot toy fest. tree is in the garden in a bucket of water. will decorate on weds.

I need to do a sort out of the pressies I've bought, but DS1 just won't get to bed!

Sputnik · 09/12/2007 21:33

I went to Ikea last year just before xmas expecting hell but it was pretty quiet. Ok this was in Rome but I don't think it's a really xmassy shop.

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 09/12/2007 21:34

Just got back and popping in v quickly - not caught up but have you seen this?

justbeme · 09/12/2007 21:39

OOOhh thanks Bumper!

so MHC - why were you feeling down earlier when you'd had a good day out?

Sputnik · 09/12/2007 21:41

Done: not a lot. Baby teething horribly. Foxy was it you talking about vinegary smelling nappies? Do they meaan a tooth is actually imminent or just more general misery?
