we're getting our tree today

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 09:47

Of course holly
Silent night, holy night ALLLLLLLL is calm ALLLLLLLL IS BRIGHT round yon manger mother and child
(Z can't quite remember the words)
Actually small confession: I did once sing a carol on songs of praise

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 08/12/2007 09:48

Hurrah foxy! A real one?

I'm putting mine up next weekend. We have all the boys this weekend and it's raining so we are all going to be stuck inside all weekend. I am going to be stressed out enough without the decs to put up as well!!

I'm in a very silly mood today (hence the carols)!

OOh maybe we should get ours soon...found the decorations in the cellar yesterday

Wow Z, you are like famous!

My house is a shit-tip. I need to do some serious work on it before I get the tree or put the decs up.

But I just keep looking at it with a sick-feeling not knowing where to start.

A few crumpets, cuppas and a bit of Saturday Kitchen should prolong the agony a bit longer!

Ditto foxy! I have no idea where the tree is going to go. Every available surface is covered in shit!

foxythesnowman · 08/12/2007 10:18

Fark me! Thats impressive!

You are bored,aren't you Holly? [grin}

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 08/12/2007 10:20

Yep, v bored! If I keep staring at the pooter screen I can't see all the housework that needs doing!

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 08/12/2007 10:20

My plan is to move half of the shit into the middle of the floor on the other half of the room. This is supposedly to prompt me into sorting it out.

LO is asleep. Now would be a good time.

Perhaps another brew though.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 08/12/2007 10:23

I would do that foxy, but the shit in the middle of the floor would just get left there! I am so crap at housework!

Hmmm...another cuppa does sound like a plan!

DP has taken the others swimming. It seems like such a waste of time when I could be relaxing.

But I'm doing what I always do - am on the pooter wasting time.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 08/12/2007 10:25

I am a seasoned pro at sitting on the pooter wasting time! That's prob why my arse is so fat!

foxythesnowman · 08/12/2007 10:30

hows the web-site course going?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 08/12/2007 10:38

I've finished the course, but I haven't really had a chance to do anything with it. I need a few hours of quiet to sit down and go through everything, but that is never gonna happen!

I'm a bad mum! Whilst I was on the pooter just then my dd got the baby lotion and poured it all over the kitchen floor! Little minx! Oh well, at least my kitchen floor is clean now!

foxythesnowman · 08/12/2007 10:43

And she's had some independent, creative, multi-sensory play! Well done, you are a GREAT mum

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 11:02

I've had an ikea frenzy this week (having found that they do online shopping now! Hurrah!) have bought a couple of drawer unit thingys for the kids room and a 20 quid filing cabinet for my work area, and suddenly the piles of clutter have disappeared! Shame the shelves I bought for the cellar won't fit (measure twice, cut once; measure twice, cut once) but they will collect them for free and refund the money straight onto my card, so no complaints there. In fact they're pretty good: arranged a delivery date convenient for me, gave me the delivery guys direct line, they called an hour before arriving, and carried everything inside. More shelves coming for the cellar in a couple of weeks. I'm shamefully excited. Still don't get the hand-held hoover thing though.

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 11:03

LOL at 'sensory play'

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 11:03

oops LO awake

foxythesnowman · 08/12/2007 11:23

Am very of your positive Ikea experience BZ! Am going on Monday to buy a sofa. Apparently I have to put it on a trolley and wheel it to check-out and then onto delivery, queue (with sofa on trolley) and organise delivery. They don't sell them On-line apparently. WTF????

Small flurry of activity, now time for another! ooooh, festive smileys

how long have they been there?

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 17:30

Hey there

Back again (had a shopping break WITHOUT KIDS this arvo: a revelation)

It is rather random what they sell online. Luckily had just about what I needed though; my mum loves going to IKEA and often suggests it as an outing for the DCs - but it gives me the fear.

Very quiet here today - hope everyone's having a good saturday despite the miserable weather.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 08/12/2007 20:17

LOL Holly - how long did that take you?

BZ how does that work? A shopping break without kids? I don't understand??

Well, we went to the panto this afternoon. The day started well enough but then I got a phone call at 1.45 saying it started at 2, not 2.30. Cue mass panic and missing the first 15 mins, which also meant that DS2 didn't get a chance to settle and screamed in fear when the rat king (Dick Whittington) came out. He then insisted on going out of the theatre and wouldn't come in again . DS3, however was good as gold and DS1 loved it.

We ordered a navy blue fake tree - this one. I figured if it was fake, it may as well be REALLY fake.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 08/12/2007 22:02

Wow, quiet here today.

Holl, I have sent Scret Santa an email, please could you ask DP to check the account, when he gets a chance. thank you

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 08/12/2007 22:03

HollY, not Holl
