Quite cheap here! I never thought a few years ago that I'd be sat here at 25 years old talking about handheld vacuum cleaners and how much I want one...I really need to get a life!

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 11:30

oooh! that looks quite exciting!

foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 11:34

what can I get DD1? She wants 'lots of hairclips'.

I was thinking either a flip-out sofa or Peppa Pig playset. Any other ideas? Or shall I just stick to the hairclips? Boys are getting a football table. DP and I are very excited by it. Not by the thought of putting it together (hopefully) drunk on Christmas Eve though.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/12/2007 12:32

Maybe she would like a Dyson handheld foxy!

I bought dd a pair of Peppa Pig wellies and a t-shirt from Next. Adams are doing all sorts of PP stuff and it is all buy one get one half price.

I've also got her one of these (£12 in TKMaxx), one of these (£7 in TKMaxx) and one of these! Go to TKMaxx and have a look!

My dp would love a football table, I've told him he can have one when we win the lottery and can buy a big house with a basement!

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 12:36

its not a big, full size one (at least I hope its not) and its on sale at Halfords. We aren't putting the legs on it so the kids can use it on the floor

foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 12:38

Trouble is I'm never child-free, and when I am I don't have enough time to get there. They are great pressies though Holly.

foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 12:42

WHOOOO-HOOOO! My Secret Santa just came a'knockin'!!! Thank you! How very exciting! Pressies for me, the Children AND the baby. You are too kind!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/12/2007 12:45

I've got everyone's pressies now except my bro and sis...no ideas at all. My sister is very ungirly, so I can't do the typical make-up/perfume/clothes thing and my bro is just really hard to buy for.

I went to TKMaxx yesterday on my Clarks outing with dp. He took the dcs off to look at things whilst I bought toys.

Just looked at Boots and the PP sets are 3 for 2!

Wow foxy, have you opened them yet? What did you get?

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 12:55

Urban Outfitters do some ok stuff. Try them.

Don't know yet, will wait until Christmas. DP STILL doesn't know about all my new mates on here! Might have to explain it.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/12/2007 13:34

Daisy, I just remembered someone recommended oats in the bath (you can put them in a muslin bag or something like that) - apparently really good for LOs skin. I haven't tried it as the olive oil in the bath seemed to do the trick (and putting the sos cream on afterwards), but it might be worth a try.

Wow, Foxy! You and Daisy are very good in not opening your ss until Christmas.

I love TK Maxx too Holly - I've found some great stuff there.

foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 13:49

hmm, how about cleaning the bath after the olive oil though? is it yukky?

Now Annobal, I wonder who I have to thank for the pressies ...

annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/12/2007 14:00

Why santa of course, Foxy

Olive oil is a bit slimey but cleans pretty easily.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 07/12/2007 16:30

Christmas in this house is being 'sponsored' by Peppa Pig as well! DD is getting a sweatshirt from Next, a brollie and wellies so far.

Holly, it looks like you got some great bargains in TK Maxx. DD has an aquadraw and absolutely loves it. I love it too as she can draw and paint to her hearts content, in the lounge, without trashing anything.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/12/2007 16:41

Dd is getting those wellies too FF!

Just did a mega online shop. Got my SS pressie and the final few bits for dd and ds. I'm on a roll!!

Phew...I'm exhausted now!

Best go and do some sort of housework...I've been on the pc for most of the day! Oops!

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 07/12/2007 19:15

Enjoy tomorrow andiem, hope it's not too exhausting and all the children enjoy it.

I like the look of the designer dyson.

Had meltdown here this evening. DD refused to eat tea at the childminder, for the first time ever, and she also refused to have some toast at home. So she's gone to bed having eaten nothing since lunch . She's not a great eater but it's the first time ever that she's gone to bed having eaten nothing
all. I think a middle of the night wake-up is inevitable, unfortunately.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/12/2007 20:43

Hope your dd sleeps fairy. Mine only had a bread roll and some cherry tomatoes, so I bet she'll be up at 6 wanting breakfast!

Where is everyone?

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 07/12/2007 20:48

I'm here. DP got home and saw the pressies, he said "who are these from?" I said "They are from my friend XXXX". "That's nice of her" says he. Not "Who is that? Do I know her?" or "Do you have a circle of friends I know nothing about?" or "Are you spending upteen hours on t'internet talking to your cyber pals instead of nurturing your children and ironing my shirts, woman?" Oh well, he obviously thinks my life is so dull its not worth asking about!!!

Sputnik · 07/12/2007 20:59

He obviously trusts you implicitly Foxy

Issey Miyake hoover, now I have seen it all. I didn't konw hand held hoovers existed til today. Now I find I desperatly want one

BadZelda · 08/12/2007 09:35

Morning ladies....rather quiet around here isn't it? I hope everyone had good nights?
Fairy that is worrying about the food. DD1 can be quite fussy, but there are a few fail-safes (couscous, pasta) that I know she will pretty much always eat. It's so nerve-wracking when they go on hunger strike

We had a pretty good friday - went to see steel drums being played and the 'reggae reggae jerk' man levi roots turning the christmas lights on, then to the pub for a while (one of our locals has a 'parents and kids' room on a friday afternoon / evening) but LO had a bit of a temperature, so I didn't stay out. Course she perked up completely by the time I got home: typical!
