Morning all.....

Thought I'd start a new thread as the other was huge.

Bit late now but big hug to Beau..... hope you went back to sleep little man.

J & M still asleep, it's one good thing about having Mum & Dad around, I don't have to wake the girls up to do the school run.

PMSL, MrsW, are you as loving towards toddlers? I'm still trying to loose my devil angel but I'm not having alot of luck. She's adorable in a special way really.

Hope you are all well. I nearly have a kitchen!!! Wooo Hoooo

largevirginbirthandtonic · 10/12/2007 08:10

A kitchen MrsJB wahooooooooo!

AChristmasMeadow · 10/12/2007 08:26

Hello MrsJB, woohoo a kitchen - when are you getting the plumbing & electric sorted?

Morning LG&T, sorry to see that you still have poorly ones. I am sure that the snowmen are all finished by now

I have the dentist this morning and am taking ds with me for his fist visit, then off to get his hair cut. Need to do a bit of arts & crafts and then off to nursery this afternoon for them both before i hit the supermarket. The cupboards are well and truely bare! Breakfast choice was Ricicles or Weetabix - he opted for weetabix and then retched when it went in his mouth. Ricicles are just sat in the bowl as he doesnt like them, there is nothing else......

juliewoolie · 10/12/2007 09:20

Morning hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Sorry to hear you still have poorly ones LG&T.

Same here on the food front the cupboards are well and truly bare. On that is it ok to give A weetabix now obviously not a full one but the baby cereal is vile.

MrsJB will you have the kitchen up and running by Christmas?

Its horrible outside today think we might stay in today.

By the way whats happened to SOH?

Have a good one.

anneme · 10/12/2007 09:45

Wow - TYG v exciting (and not a bit scary!!)
MKG lovely little ones - real smilers.

S asleep, DS1 at nursery, house a tip - must not stay online....

anneme · 10/12/2007 09:48

Oh but must say - DS1 was v sweet yesterday. Went to work xmas children's party and Father Xmas arrived. DS1 insisted on going to tell him all about his weekend and how he had been staying with Granny and Grandad. V sweet when they really genuinely believe it all - I was quite teary. Then we went home and he was a little so and so. Oh well. S just hung off my boob all afternoon.

By the way - Pebble, you poor thing. Have you tried lemon and ginger tea for your throat? (if you can ever get out)

AChristmasMeadow · 10/12/2007 12:06

Hey Julie, yes weetabix is fine. Ella had some the other morning. Hipp do an organic one specifically for babies.

How cute of your ds1 Anneme

largevirginbirthandtonic · 10/12/2007 12:07

Pics of farckin snowmen on profile, they will be demolished by 1. Hug's toddler Xmas party food.

AChristmasMeadow · 10/12/2007 12:21

Thanks for the card MrsJB, the postmark completely threw mw

Just taken ds to the dentist for the first time and he was brilliant. Even got himself a sticker

Minipop · 10/12/2007 13:45

Hijack!

Hello to you all fabulous mums
Such a long time no speak. I hope you and your precious little ones are all doing well. I can't believe Leila is 6 months! I am now back at work 4 days a week which is scary, but I feel blessed as Leila has been (on the whole!) a really good baby. Don't think I will have another as I think I have lucked out with her. Isn't it true you have one good and one...not so good??

Much love and Xmas kisses
Mini xxxx

AChristmasMeadow · 10/12/2007 13:50

Hey Minipo, good to see you again! Er well i had the bad one first I figured it couldnt get any worse

AChristmasMeadow · 10/12/2007 13:51

Obviously i meant Minipop

Mrsjollyballs · 10/12/2007 19:31

Hi minipop, glad you are well.

Some of the electics have been done, lights and oven working. Still no plug sockets though. A will do the plumbing later this week hopefully. We will definately be in for Christmas dinner. yey!! May still have the wall tiles to do as I have been too lazy to go and choose them, most things like that here have to be ordered so will probably do them in the new year, but it doesn't matter, walls are good and painted so it still looks ok. The panneled doors we had made for the larder went on today, they look fab!! hehe Dh keeps opening and closing the drawers, he likes the soft close, haha, little things amuse little minds and all that.

AM, I was crafty with my post this Christmas, I sent it all back with Mum & Dad who stamped it all for me and then left it with Kath to post in Dec.

How you feeling TYG? Sick? Hope not!!

LG&T, hope you get some sleep, poor you.

Hey finally J decided today it was time to sit!! She's still doing a little baby left, baby right but is doing well seeing the room from a different angle. [about time emotion]

AChristmasMeadow · 10/12/2007 19:48

Well done J on learning to sit . I had to check to the envelope to make sure i wasnt going mad!

Good news on the progress of the kitchen

anneme · 10/12/2007 23:02

AM - 54 people - no wonder you need a spreadsheet!!! I am so impressed that you manage it....
Was staying at my parents this weekend and found a machine to make logs/bricks out of newspaper - HUMPH that is what I had got mum for xmas - does anybody want newspaper brick maker?!?! I had even wrapped it up( so if you get a brick maker from secret santa you will know it is me ha ha)
~Went for a drive today so feel qiute proud of myself.
Charleymouse - is your DH keeping up his driving? (this will give me hope!)

Pebblemum · 11/12/2007 01:04

Hello!!

Managed to get my electric key sorted on Saturday without getting too wet. The rain had slowed right down so once that was done I decided to take E to his Christmas Fayre but just as we got outside the gate J returned home saying that it had all ended (2hrs early) cue E having a strop because he really wanted to go. Dh came home at 3pm, got the boys all hyper then buggered off to the pub, came home 4hrs later just as i was calming E down for the evening, got them hyped up again. Men!!

After sorting out my electric and the key I now have problems with my mobile phone, it keeps turning itself off for no apparant reason. J's school tried phoning this morning because he had a headache and as soon as it rung once it turned itself off and then wouldnt stay on long enough for me to call them back. Luckily they left a voicemail and I got that so I knew to go and get him.

To top things off we all piled in the car to pop to the shops quickly and it wouldnt start. It looks as if we need a new battery. We are definately having a run of bad luck at the moment

Alana is still poorly. She is very wheezy and last night spent about half an hour coughing and spluttering before bringing up a large ball of white gunk. Poor thing didnt know what was going on. Gave her a drink of water and some medised and by 1.30am she was back off to sleep and slept through until 8am. That medised is great isnt it? Had never tried it before so wasnt sure how well it worked but I am impressed. E was coughing last night so I gave him some, after 30mins he was still running round hyper and I didnt think he would ever go to sleep then all of a sudden he laid down on the floor and was asleep within seconds

My throat is finally on the mend, actually managed 'real' food and not just soup today!! J's headache went not long after he came home only to return at tea time, I had him crying his eyes out with the pain one minute and then he was fine again the next, very strange, he just woke up saying its come back so I've dosed him up again and am hoping he's ok by morning. I hate this time of year, all the different bugs and lurgies going around (love christmas though lol)

largevirginbirthandtonic · 11/12/2007 08:28

Morning, the children and i are full of Donuts of a very special kind

AChristmasMeadow · 11/12/2007 09:10

YAY Krispy Kreme has arrived for LG&T I was only wondering when it was opening the other day as i walked past Tesco in Basingstoke and started drooling at a poster in the window.

Pebble soory to see that you are having a run of bad luck. Am glad that A at least had a block of good sleep. Medised doesnt touch my kiddies. It can get them to sleep but it doesnt keep them asleep all night

Taking Ella to her nursery Xmas party this afternoon, she will be wearing a fairy outfit

AbbyLou · 11/12/2007 18:13

Hello everyone, it seems ages (again) since I posted. It sounds like lots is still going on, especially with lurgies and problems with houses/cars etc. My exhaust is slowly falling off but I am trying to make it last until after Christmas. I really can't afford to get it done now.
Talkinf of Christmas I'm feeling a little disorganised. I've only written 5 cards and haven't wrapped anything. It's C's 3rd birthday next Wednesday and his party this Sunday and until that's out of the way I don't feel I can really concentrate on anything else. It's the first time he's had a proper party with his friends and he's so excited. He's really looking forward to it. If it goes off without incident it will be a miracle. The Leisure Centre where we are having it have the most numpty staff I have ever dealt with. They are hopeless! When I popped in last night to find out what time I can set the food up they told me they had no room for the food as they are having all their floors re-done. I was not best pleased to put it politely! They have assured me we will have somewhere to eat but I think dh will be heading down there tomorrow, he's a bit more forceful than me and will get it sorted. I couldn't bear for CHarlie's party to be ruined, he would be so disappointed. Stupidly I have said I will make him a train cake. I have the Australian Woman's Weekly book which is apparently easy to follow so we will see!
Anyway, I'm off as R is stirring and C is about ready for settling down to In The Night Garden.
Toodle pip!

AbbyLou · 11/12/2007 18:14

Oh and by the way, I STILL haven't tried a Krispy Kreme. I can't find them anywhere near here.

cameroonmama · 11/12/2007 19:28

Congratulations LG&T on your donut-fest How was it? Did you have to walk down a red carpet covered in pink icing and sprinkles? As the number one KK fan in the whole world did you get to cut the ribbon too

Congratulations too on little miss Jorja now sitting. I bet M is having a field day trying to knock her over

How was the little fairy AM? Thanks for the card by the way, I love the stamps gosh you are just sooooo organised.

Pebble, sounds like things can't get much worse, so sorry.

JW - you need to send dp out to the pub more often

We too are still lurgy ridden. J was awake at 12.30, dd awake at 4am and jumped into bed with me (most unusual for her as you could have a disco next to her while she sleeps and she still wouldn't stir), J woke up again at 4.30, cried until 5.30 I sent dd packing, ds1 woke us all up at 6.30. Ho hum. Also my perfect baby has been terribly grumpy for 2 days now, and its not on. I'd like to resign for a couple of days now if I may....

I have just one Christmas present left to get, and I braved Tesco's today to get some essentials for my mahoosive family who all turn up on Saturday for J's christening on Sunday. So we are on the FINAL COUNTDOWN, 3 days and counting until dh returns home yyyyeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

PS - where are you SOH?

barelymorethantwelvemonthgap · 11/12/2007 21:49

I can't face cake at the mo... I had some earlier and it made me feel sick. All I want is fruit. Please God let this continue. There may be hope that one day I'll be a size 10 12 again.

I'm SOOOOOO blardy tired. Jeasus. GP has referred me to the hospital. I might ring the homebirth team though. I'm sure there must be a way to cut out the referral for referral for referral crap and just go straight to the midwives. Mind you, the midwife who was on at the surgery today was the one that had me in tears on Day 2 after Aoife was born and told me I shouldn't have bothered with make up etc. Glad I missed her. The wagon.

The doctor is about 8 months pregnant herself and was grumpy as f'ck, but I forgive her, because I'd be bloody grumpy listening to other people moaning whilst I felt like a heifer.

So, a whole load of completely random people know that I'm pregnant, but our families don't. That's a bit weird. Hope my mother doesn't find out. She'd be in a right strop. That said, I reckon my mother and my MIL will be aghast that we're having another one so soon.

Pebble, sounds like it might be a software problem with your phone. It can cause them to crash if something goes wrong. Sometimes they can be fixed by reloading the software. Places like Carphonewarehouse will do the repair, but obv best to find out the cost first, as it might be cheaper to buy the very cheapest kind of PAYG phone that your network offers and just put your simcard into it.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 11/12/2007 22:49

Hello all

Sorry to have posted and then dissapeared......again! There is seriously not enough time in the day. LG&T I don't know how you do it with 6, I'm struggeling with 1 lol.

Well Charlotte's been really ill. She'd been pulling on one of her ears for weeks and I kept taking her to the doctors and saying that there was obviously a problem i.e. an ear infection, and they kept just sending me away telling me I was being silly! Then she got really ill overnight and was being sick, not keeping food down, sneezing, snotty, scatty temperature, coughing to the point of choking and turning purple! Scared the life out of me at one point when she started to choke and didn't stop. She went a nearly blue colour and wasn't breathing at all, somehow managed to get her to breathe again. Still can't remember how as it's all a bit of a paniced blur. It's the most scared I've ever been, and spent the hour after it happened cuddeling her crying my eyes out. Got onto the doctors for a housecall and it turns out she has an ear infection and is generally very run down. I nearly went for the doctor when he told me it was an ear infection, as I'd been saying it was for WEEKS! I wish they'd listen to the mothers a bit more, we know when something's up with our kids fgs!

Anyway, she's now on antibiotics and appears to be on the mend - very slowly. Spent the weekend in London with my sister whilst my parents watched Charlotte, really needed the break and it was great fun. Went to the Tower of London and the London Dungeon. Still no teeth this end, but madam is starting to crawl........backwards. She braces herslef in the crawling position, but can't quite move yet, so she ends up sliding backwards until she hits into something.

Still haven't had time to catch up, but did catch a couple of things. TYG - Oh my Lord! TYG is up the duff? Brave woman lol. Many, many congrats coming your way m'lovely. Oh and M2G, Lottie fell off the bed a few weeks back, I was in a state about it for WEEKS, C got back up to play within minutes. They bounce, tis true. Definitley more of a shock for us. Hope he's ok

Right off to bed x

juliewoolie · 12/12/2007 10:30
