Morning all.....

Thought I'd start a new thread as the other was huge.

Bit late now but big hug to Beau..... hope you went back to sleep little man.

J & M still asleep, it's one good thing about having Mum & Dad around, I don't have to wake the girls up to do the school run.

Do you know what, she is very cute, but a right little madam. At lunch today, my friends' babies were sitting politely, one was chewing his spoon, the other fast asleep.

Lexie being a little pest, trying to grab my sandwich, knocked my drink over. So I thought, OK, if its good enough for Thomas to chew his spoon, let's see if L will do the same. Oh no, she decided to ram it so far down her throat she was gagging. In the end, I left my friends to pay and went for a walk with her. I definitely forsee this child throwing herself on the floor of supermarkets. I keep saying, she's full of personality. Ahem...

As for being lovely and polished, most of the time my make up is done at red traffic lights, and I am pouring with sweat rushing around like an idiot.

juliewoolie · 08/11/2007 21:06

bloody nora PJ defo too glam for me isnt lexie a gorgeous bundle though.

Pinknerverashjenny · 08/11/2007 21:11

Am concerned that I am obsessed with a dancer on Strictly Come Dancing. Have just logged onto matthewcutler.co.uk. Will be posters on the living room wall next.

I wish I was a dancer. That would be fab.

cameroonmama · 08/11/2007 22:23

Just popping in to say hello and send SOH an inflatable dingy for her and the Tank for tonight/tomorrow morning, good luck

All this talk of grooming and straighteners is making me worried..I am seriously lucky if I leave the house having run a brush through my birdsnest. Lexie looks far too cute for liverpool, send her down to Somerset please.

I have been trying to do shipping paperwork, insurance forms etc aaaaarrrrggghhh. Off to bed I think.

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 22:40

SOH pack now, quickly woman! You caould be here by morning and have nice dry socks. I mean it, you know i do.

Pink oyu do look rather fab, Lexie is edible. You must come and see us soon. I forgive you for letting her back in your bed, i mean she is soooo cute. How could you not?

I watched the Mummy Diaries, it was so sad. I learnt an awful lot, very humbling.

Im off to bed, night all. Soh i will expect a knock about 4? Should give you time to pack up and feed the tank. xxx

Pinknerverashjenny · 09/11/2007 07:16

Morning all

SOH - thinking about you, hope all is OK and you didn't have to sleep in some random high school somewhere.

Although, admittedly being surrounded by lots of strangers willing to coo over M may give you a bit of a rest.

Cold here today, L currently in her bouncy chair (which she is far to big for) bouncing like a lunatic. I so wish she could go in a door hanger, she would love it. Although she'd probably knock herself out on the door frame or something.

I thought Calpol made them drowsy! She's still full of cold, although not as much as me! I certainly don't feel like bouncing. Much to dh's disappointment.

Lulumama · 09/11/2007 07:27

hi jenny and lg&T

hope you are both well, cannot beleive these babies are 6 months old

ShowOfHands · 09/11/2007 07:34

Oh it did cross my mind to head down your way last night LG&T but dh isn't allowed time off 'for a bit of water'. And I quote.

I went to bed last night fully expecting to dream I was Iggle Piggle floating my way off to an illicit encounter with Upsy Daisy (there's something going on there isn't there? I mean those Tombliboos are a frightening likeness for both of them and don't get me started on those Pentapeptide/Pontiwhatsits that are regularly lost by their parents. I've informed the social services). The river has broken its banks. The moorings are all under water and there's a boat washed up but the water is not quite at our patio yet. Still they say the next hour is critical. Not pumped up the dinghy yet. Some roads are flooded and they are having a problem with 'sightseers' or 'twats' as I like to call them.

M's not allowed in her bouncy chair. She tips it over and wriggles out of it. She thinks it's a prison, holding her back from exploring the wider world.

M is shouting 'da da da da da da da da da'. I know it's a random string of phonemes but dh is puffing his chest out like he's king of the world.

Might go out for a paddle...

Pinknerverashjenny · 09/11/2007 07:59

SOH - they've just said on GMTV its easing a bit - I hope it is near you. Or just get your bikini on and work it! Seriously though, nightmare. What dicks dh's employers are.

I know, the bouncy chair is practically bouncing off the floor she's so heavy. But what else can I do with her? Until she sits up herself, its either the highchair, the floor or the bouncy chair. Or her favourite place, being carried around by me. And pulling all my hair out or trying to gauge out my cheek.

LeafCoveredMeadow · 09/11/2007 09:39

SOH, LOl at being Iggle Piggle (and thanks btw have now got that stupid song in my head and know that it will be there all day now). Hope that you dont have to flee and that you can still go and see LG&T.

Hey PJ, you look fab and Lexie is a really stunner.

LeafCoveredMeadow · 09/11/2007 09:40

Meant to say that i texted Lupins last night to see how she is - am waiting a reply

Mum2G · 09/11/2007 11:22

Hi all,

hope you are not stranded SOH! It would be great if we can all meet up

Know what you mean about the bouncy chairs, G keeps trying to get out of his bumbo too, won't be long til he can. Need eyes in the backs of our heads!

Dh has given me a ring for having George, it has an emerald (may birthstone), feel very spoilt!

G not too impressed with babyrice, but seems to like banana

Nice piccies PJ - you definantly look very glam! As for me, forget the hair straighteners, just need to cover up the grey these days!

ShowOfHands · 09/11/2007 11:30

Water still rising. About 6 inches higher than last time I checked. Garden is soggy.

Ring sounds lovely. Very jealous!

M can get out of her bumbo too but because she's a wee bit rotund there were occasions when she'd get onto her tummy and the damn thing would still be wedged on her bum.

I can't ever meet any of you. Don't have hair straighteners even (LG&T might have to do something to my barnet) and I don't own a single item of make-up.

And er me in a bikini? I'm laughing hysterically and may never stop. Have taken up running again though and have done a cardio box, pump and aerobics class this week. Am determined to get back into all of my pre-pregnancy clothes by Christmas.

Yours truly,

Iggle Piggle.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/11/2007 12:12

SOH, I hope you are not paddling yet.

Woooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooo the parents have gone........ and relax!!

I feel better already, dh still has NO work but hey what we haven't got we can't spend suppose. Could be a cold winter though if we can't afford to keep the oil tank filled.

I popped off to the kitchen this morniing to get J her bottle leaving her on the floor and m playing beside her. I heard a peircing scream from J and legged it back to find her across the other side of the lounge. Maddie had carried her and dropped her. first time she's done it and last time I leave them alone together. j seems fine now, can't find any bumps but she must have hit the tiles somewhere!!

Hope the rain eases for you soon those that are getting wet, SOH you SO must go and meet all otherwise we are going to begin to think that actually you are some mad internet obsessed story maker with pic's and all.....

OP posts:
Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/11/2007 12:16

largeginandtonic · 09/11/2007 14:07

Was up at 4 waiting SOH?! If it does get any worse you are very welcome More the merrier.

I love Igglepiggle and Macca pacca, so does Hugs. I feel there is some drug influenced loon behind it all, it's a bit too Magic Roundabout...

Cam hope it is all going ok, what a nightmare, offer still open for D, B nad J to come and stay so you can get on with it

MrsJB im sure J will live through worse than that! Poor little thing, Hugs has scooped B before now!

B crying (again)

Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/11/2007 14:57

I think you are right lg&t, on both accounts the drug influence and J living through worse. I'm sure she'll be shoved down the stairs, thrown out the tree house pushed out of bed and lots more especially with a sister like M. At the moment m thinks J is her's and she want's to smother mother her all the time.

Have added a few new pics.......

juliewoolie · 09/11/2007 15:23

far too much time on my hands today, more pics added.

juliewoolie · 09/11/2007 15:25

lovely Mrs JB

Pinknerverashjenny · 09/11/2007 17:39

Evening everyone

SOH - hope today hasn't been too bad and you aren't currently wading through water. Am well impressed that you are on a big keep fit surge. I still have two stone to go. But I had Burger King (which I don't even like) today, so its not going well.

Mum2G - so fab about your ring, what a lovely thing for dh to do.

Gorgeous pics all - what beautiful babas we have. Julie - what a happy little chappie he is. I love the suits with ears, L hates hers. Haha. How glossy is your hair lady? Let me know what shampoo you use! Mrs JB - how cute is she? She looks like a proper little character. I've never seen anyone find a carrot so hilarious! Gorgeous. Can't believe how big they're all getting.

Have to say, mine has driven me insane today. But hey ho, its Friday!!!! Yay!!! Lots of people are now off that help!!! Yay!!!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/11/2007 18:27

Thanks She did seem to find it quite funny, it's the tounge out hehe, We certainly seem to have a gorgeous bunch between us, must be the beautiful month of May thats done it!

PJ she is very scrummy and JW he is adorable. Ohhhh I want a squidge with them all........

SOH, I hope you are OK sweetie, we've just watched Norfolk on the news, it looked terrible in places. Were you advised to leave your house to sheltered accomodation? Actually was that you in the background with a straw hat, green wellies and a tank on your front?

OP posts:
anneme · 09/11/2007 19:40

WHat gorgeous pics - Mrs JB and Julie.

I am depressed.

I can only admit this to you all because I don't think I can make the meetup and therefore will not have to meet you in person.

We have nits in the house.

that is not all.

We also have worms. And they aren't in the garden.

YUCK YUCK YUCK

AbbyLou · 09/11/2007 20:55

Hi all ,yes!!! It's the weekend so I have resurfaced! Anneme, sorry you have creatures, it's a perk of the job for me being a teacher - I'm always trying to avoid both of those!
SOH hope everything is alright at yours and you're not under water.
We are all fine, will try and catch up later in the weekend.

Pinknerverashjenny · 09/11/2007 21:32

Can I ask a quick question for those of us that are already weaning? Have you dropped the 11pm feed? L is now on three solid meals a day and I am still feeding her at 11pm. This means that she isn't interested in her 7am bottle at all.

Any ideas? The Health Visitor was unsurprisingly vague and unhelpful.

juliewoolie · 09/11/2007 22:04

hi pink,

have just been reading about the dream feed.

As A has started waking at random times before the dream feed, and have been trying to shush him back off doesnt always work. But apparantly thats because he is needing solids - not entirely agreeing with that but anyway I digress.

You need to slowly cut down the amount you are offering Lexie by an ounce and increase the first feed of the day by that amount also you need to bring forward the time in 15-30 min increments. Until she is just having her bedtime feed. Again not entirely sure I agree with this.

The other thing you could try is just not give her it and see what happens. [snile]

Does any of that make sense?
