im going home to my dads in a minute.. need 2 go to asdas and buy some halloween sweets hehe x

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 15:45

I used to Fairyfay... not since I went back to work though, just don't have the time to market the site.

I sold on average about 2 a week when I was PG though - no job, nothing better to do!

I am not good enough to have it pay the bills, it's just for fun, I take the photos for me, and if someone wants one then really it just makes my day

Sputnik · 25/10/2007 15:46

Really like your photos fury. can I ask if you ever sold any through the site, as I have a friend doing the same thing, but don't think he's had much luck

justbeme · 25/10/2007 15:48

Anyway going now. I cant have an account becuse im not a mum! Lol .

Talk in a few weeks x

Sputnik · 25/10/2007 15:48

fairyfay · 25/10/2007 15:49

Bye Ellie, nice to meet you

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 15:50

Sputnik - it's VERY difficult generating traffic to the site. Like you wouldn't believe.

Best thing to do is tell him to set up on ebay. You can sell the prints on ebay - use Auctiva to list them, then you get big pics for free - and on the ebay listing, make sure you have prominent links to the main site.

I was getting ~1000 hits a week this way. Without ebay traffic, it's closer to maybe 20.

Clikpic (who host my site) are brill. Very cheap hosting and lovely templates. Mine costs £55 a year but they have a cheaper package.

Sputnik · 25/10/2007 15:53

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 15:56

LOVE your pics Fury! And both very impressed and a bit

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 16:05

Don't be Jammy!
I would love to have taken a couple of yours!!

I used to beat myself up when I saw better photos out there...now I try a learn how I could have done mine better, or I try and copy them... but I used to think it was some kind of competition, once I decided that my pics were for me, my memories etc, I stopped worrying about it and beating myself up so much!

(Still wish I had taken the girl running pic of yours tho )

Check these out - a friend of mine Here

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 16:08

looking at his pics has made me realise how far I need to go to improve.
He is awesome.

He doesn't even sell them! Idiot. I have told him he is sitting on £thousands!!

foxystein · 25/10/2007 16:19

Hi Ellie - see? You are getting drawn in already...

FairyFay - thanks! I went on the Channel 4 website and couldn't find it - it didn't come up in a search either. Am having technical difficulties in general I think.

fairyfay · 25/10/2007 16:21

OMG they are incredible!

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 16:35

Those pics are great Fury. I know what you mean about taking taking photos for yourself though.

Thingsthatgobumperinthenight · 25/10/2007 16:36

Hi all, hi ellie if you are still here!

i mentioned to dh about putting LO in own room, he's not keen so I suggested him and dd sleep together & I have my own room

what we might actually do if put dd in her room and one of us sleep in there with her while the other get a proper sleep, till she gets used to the new environment and we are ready to let go!

This sound terrible but I am kind of glad your LOs are waking up too, make me feel less like i am doing things wrong. there is a great (out of print) book called wonder weeks which says that something like 15-19 weeks is a very "stormy" period. all my baby group friends seem to be suffering too!

Thingsthatgobumperinthenight · 25/10/2007 16:37

Fury just seen on the tv the guardian this weekend starts a free good photography guide.

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 16:47

BBC4 has a programme on tonight, The Genius of Photography. We'll be recording the repeat in the small hours as it clashes with something else we watch, so got something to watch while feeding tomorrow.

LO looks very cute wearing her new pumpkin bib

Thingsthatgobumperinthenight · 25/10/2007 16:55

jammy was reading your post about pay and reward, do you work for the civil service perchance. sounds like my job! I get a bonus this month but it's subject to tax and NI, non-consolidated, and desite getting an above average appraisal mark is only something like £50 more than mr average gets.

so my day was up and down. didn't want to leave the house after another bad night, but went to bumps & babes. it's a nice group but if you don't get there early the way it is set out all the chairs near your friends get full and you end up miles away from them next to strangers or people you don't like, which is fine, but when you feel like shit you just want to be in your comfort zone.

so anyway today i got stuck next to a women who is ok but i just don't gel with, who is v proud that her 17 week old is on 3 meals a day and has squash in a tippy cup (i know judgy wudgy was a bear...> and who insisted i put dd on solids to make her sleep through. on my other side was a group of yummy mummies discussing their 'routines'. fine until i described my nightmare few days of no sleep. and one of them said smugly "oh i've never had any of that i sleep great". i didn't know whether to cry or lamp her and nearly walked out. she broke the CARDINAL rule of womanhood: if another woman is complaining about something you either empathise8 or sympathise*!

anyway, i then had lunch with my lovely friend from neals yard (and got a free sample) and had a lovely post natal group session with my friends who are all going through the same crappy stage. or even if they are not they say they - which makes me feel much better!

phew, sorry, that was an epic!

Thingsthatgobumperinthenight · 25/10/2007 16:56

ooh yeah, dh wants t record that and we can now because our BT VISION IS FINALLY FIXED!
