hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 12:44

Aw, thanks Fury. That's one thing I am planning to do now I'm off work/when I'm not working full time - put some photos up on a library site and try to sell some. But as with many things, planning to and actually doing something are totally different things.

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 12:50

And well done to DH for his good grade. Shame it's just words. We are meant to be on performance related pay, with the annual pay rise dependent on performance review. But the past 2 years they've given a blanket pay rise across all performance bands, and even before that the preson who worked their arse off got 0.5% or less more than the person who sat on their arse and did the bare minimum. Doesn't really encourage you to pull out all the stops does it?

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 13:01

no it's all shit.
He has been working all hours. He was meant to get a 30% bonus. He is very very upset and said he feels like he has been kicked in the guts.

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 13:02

Jamantha re your photos... some of the more arty ones you could sell on a site or something, they'd be wasted in a stock library!

I use Alamy as a library and clikpic host my site. both are very good.

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 13:11

Can you give me a link to your site please, Fury?

Sputnik · 25/10/2007 13:11

Buggeration, Baby Sputnik has taken not only to waking up for a dream feed when I go to bed, but also to waking at 3. So we're basically back to every 3 hours in this house. Plus DD has woken in the night last 2 nights. Gah!
I was so tired this morning I went out without my bra on, and didn't notice til a couple of hours later

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 13:17

I rarely wear a bra Sputnik May well regret it in later life, but am happy without a lot of the time.

Sputnik · 25/10/2007 13:22

Well I was wondering how come i felt stranngely comfortable.
I didn't wear one for years, as I'm not hugeely norkish, but then age became a factor

upsyderlor · 25/10/2007 13:23

helllooooo oh spooky ones
right firstly Jammy HV's can talk a load of shite and if anyone can say that I can!!!! you do what is right for you it's your baby and if she sleeps well in her pram then put her in her pram. my Lo sleeps anywhere diring the day - baby gym, pram, baby bouncer chair thingy, car seat or in her cot. so ignore the advice if you don't like it and just trust your own instincts.
Bumper, against ALL current recommendations my LO has been in her own room from 1st night. it is next door to us and we sleep with boht doors open - we all get a good nights sleep that way x but again, do what is right for you.
i'm very rebellious today huh!!! LO getting 3rd jags at 1410 but i'm about to become unpopular with my own HV (again) cause i won't let her have all 3 jags together, should be fun!!!
TA, for you, it's hard enough having to go back to work so soon but now that it is all so shitty must be a daily struggle ((((((((hugs)))))))) for you xx

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 13:26

Feel relieved to hear that Derlor, thanks

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 13:32

Well just spoke to my HV (as opposed to the one leading the walk yesterday) who didn't give me a hard time and was very pleased to hear that I'm still BF, didn't seem concerned about daytime napping, and was generally nice to talk too.

milkyJammy · 25/10/2007 13:32

sorry, talk to, not too

upsyderlor · 25/10/2007 13:32

Facebook is great for photo sharing isn't it! I love seeing how everyone's lo's are growing and changing - it's amazing!
Little Ed's Anty (SIL) is in NZ and Uncle (my brother) is in Thiland so it's great that they an see all his photo's - I just have to keep them up to date for them.

I think I might try and get my dad on facebook cos he is in the states - not sure how good he is with that kind of thing? Being an old fart and all!!

foxystein · 25/10/2007 15:19

justbeme · 25/10/2007 15:34

Wow Fury- I love your photos!! I cant believe all the wonderful places you've been to and how close you seem to have got to the wildlife!!
Amazing!!
My DD1 wants to know how far away you were to take the gorilla and wolf photos?

foxystein · 25/10/2007 15:35

FAYLISA are you about? Do you still have that lemon cake receipe?

HellHathNoFury · 25/10/2007 15:40

Thanks JBM

The wolf one was a bit of a cheat, it was at a wolf park in Berkshire. Wasn't that close, I had a long lens!

The gorilla was in the mountains in Rwanda. We were very close - right next to them.
