hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 03/11/2007 15:31

Babylegs. I bought them for dd so she can walk around the house with no nappy and not get cold legs!

justbeme · 03/11/2007 15:33

Thanks Holly - roll on 6mths then!!

Jammy looks like you had some bargains!

So where have you been to today then Foxy/Holly/anyone??

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 15:37

Sorry Holly, but ROFL at babies in leg warmers .

DD1 wouldn't have it. She insists on wearing pants, tights and vest at ALL times. She'd go out like it if should could.

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 15:40

Swimming JBM. The DSs have swimming lessons at 10am Saturday morning. Which sucks. Especially as DP is away most weekends. Trying to get the time changed. Its impossible to get out the door without screaming at that time with all of them.

DS2 was poorly last night, so had a crap night with him, and he was up at 5am. Seems a bit better now though.

justbeme · 03/11/2007 15:44

Oh yuk foxy!!
I remember being taken to swimming lessons on saturday mornings when I was about 8 - and apparently I used to cry and say
"please Mummy, dont take me, you can have all my pocket money"
and I was upset 'cos I used to miss the MultiColour Swapshop (and we used to have to walk past a tv shop which showed it on its screens!! - which made me not want to go even more)
Anyway, my Mum bribed me with the promise of scissors for my sewing kit (WTF - it would be a Nintendo Wii now wouldnt it!! - Oh how times have changed!)

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 03/11/2007 15:45

I was ROFL at them at first, but it seems quite practical as dd isn't really into wearing clothes atm. At home it's either fairy or witch dress or nothing! Also it saves her having to pull down pants whilst she is potty training.

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 15:48

definately practical. But I now have the 'Fame' theme tune buzzing around my head ...

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 15:51

Freezing cold tennis lessons on Saturday mornings for me JBM. Parents are cruel. And piano lessons for farking years. But still I never learnt to play because I hated it that much.

I will never, ever, ever continually persist in forcing my children to do something they don't enjoy and I will listen to them when they tell me on a daily basis they don't want to do it.

justbeme · 03/11/2007 15:55

You're right Foxy - I was MADE to carry on with Guides to the bitter end.
Mind you I didnt want to go to College to do A Levels and I was made to - but I guess my parents were right about that one!!

Im not sure how my parents (my Dad especially had such a "hold" ovwer me - If I tell DD1 to do something she doesnt want to I dont have the same effect!

HellHathNoFury · 03/11/2007 16:15

Hi All

Amnot very well. Hope you have all had a nice week.

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 16:18

now you too fury? whats up?

same here JBM. I just can't seem to command the same respect as we gave my dad (or should that be fear? )

HellHathNoFury · 03/11/2007 16:28

Who else is ill?

I got food poisoning last night
Have been on deaths door (ok, the bathroom door) most of last night and today. Thanks to a friendly russian pharmacist I am drugged up to the nines and coping. Just.

justbeme · 03/11/2007 16:31

Definately Fear Foxy!
Hope you feel better soon Fury.

my old "married" house is up for sale - just looked at all the internal photos - theyve totally changed it - ahh i loved that house

Seanschristmasfairy · 03/11/2007 16:38

Poor you Fury where did you pick that up from?

Am back from being Taxi mum to DD, have survived ballet and two parties. Its funny but in the early days of DD and parties I have always been careful not to let her scoff her party bag contents - but today in the back of the car with her friend between parties I was " yes eat whatever...." just for a bit of peace. And to think I used to cook organic food for her.....

BZ you are totally not BU! You need a rest too! But have to say Daisy am impressed with the off duty - I manage with shared responsibility - which usually means I have DS and he has DD.

Seanschristmasfairy · 03/11/2007 16:45

Its interesting reading all the different feeding going on - i was having my usual its alll going wrong this week after following hvs advice. So she has told me to move to stage 2 milk, and go with two 'tastes' a day - this was based on me telling her DS hade seemed to loose interste in his milk and dropped his intake from 35oz to 25oz (on a good day) and seem very keen on any food offered. So she said reflux babies are generally better weaned earlier and go with her suggestion. Which I have and now all of a sudden he wants to feed every 2-3 hours instead of 4 hours and is troughing 7-8oz a feed (not the 5-6oz she said he would probably want of stage 2)and is less interested in the food

Seanschristmasfairy · 03/11/2007 16:47

right off to get ready for our firework extravaganza in the garden. see you all tomorrow have good nights all xxx

BadZelda · 03/11/2007 17:42

Aren't we going to need a new thread title soon? Hmmm

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 17:43

i think it should feature the word "relentless"!!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 03/11/2007 17:45

"June 07 mummies, relentless in their quest for sleep, peace and a nice cup of tea" ??

flashbangfoxy · 03/11/2007 17:50

ha ha I like that, I'd settle for a warm cup of tea. Is everyone else still drinking cold tea, or have you gone past that yet?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 03/11/2007 17:56

I don't even bother with tea and just drink pints of blackcurrant and apple squash. It starts out cold so doesn't matter when I get to drink it.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 03/11/2007 17:59

I did actually think of you Foxy when I suggested that

Sputnik · 03/11/2007 18:04

I like that title idea.
I had a warmish cup of tea today, it was quite a novelty

trace2 · 03/11/2007 18:19
