NorthernLurker · 19/10/2007 23:04

Oh - and I don't understand the thread title - how thick am I?

POTC · 20/10/2007 02:28

ok, a little tipsy so may not make much sense

the thread title, weaning = food, falafel = food, so Falafel.

Fluffles = make of washable nappy, lots of cloth nappy talk on here, so Fluffles

so, Fluffles to Falafel

Morning everyone!

liath · 20/10/2007 07:25

Morning SMB, what are you up to today?

SharpMolarBear · 20/10/2007 07:42

Morning
Well I will be rugby avoiding for the last time tonight! Rest of the day will be taken up trying to wear T out!
How about you?
oooh oooh, remember the assignment I used to avoid doing by MNing? (just before we all popped, i bored everyone silly)
Well I've FINALLY PASSED!

liath · 20/10/2007 07:58

Hey - well done .

Have been up since 5.30 with ds and dd is STILL asleep. Why can't they co-ordinate?? DH is on nights so I'm off to my parents for a couple of days.

SharpMolarBear · 20/10/2007 08:07

That's one of the things I wonder about having more than one - they need to sleep at the same times, I feel like I just about get enough now!! I'm sure you're all nodding and smiling and letting me believe that
Have a good time at your parents, does this mean you'll be MN-less for the next couple of days?

liath · 20/10/2007 08:18

Funnily, I found one harder work than two - think I've just lowered my standards this time . Haven't had simultaneous illness yet either - there's something to look forward to.

Just heard dd cough so presumably she's finally waking up! Ok for some....

Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy the rugby!

SharpMolarBear · 20/10/2007 08:22

Bye, you too x

Sexonlegs · 20/10/2007 09:14

Morning all.

Northern Lurker, I can totally empathise with you re the nursery. I am dreading taking K to nursery, but as B was there, I know the staff which makes it a bit easier. I hope you get something sorted that you feel happy with.

Well, as I thought, the girls were not settled - not too bad, but still a broken night. B was awake at midnight, and K at 2. Gladly neither for too long.

B however is in the shittiest, most difficult mood this morning.

Well, I am looking forward to the rugby personally !

COME ON ENGLAND!

See you later.

geordiemacmummy · 20/10/2007 10:15

Morning ladies,

Crap night here too, usually C sleeps from 7 til about 5, last night he woke at 11, so thought I would giv him a feed, in the ope that he might slep through, all ine and dandy - until the little monster woke at 3am!!!

He usuall goes back down at 8.30, butno not today - he's absolutely shattered but is fighting it....

Great day ahead here - liverpool everton at 12.30 then the rugby tonight...ARGHHHHHHHH

Sexonlegs · 20/10/2007 10:28

Oh GMM, a crap night indeed. I bunged some nurofen down K, she stuck her thumb in, I stuck her back in her cot, and that was it until 8.00 a.m. We were lucky indeed.

V quiet on here today!

NorthernLurker · 20/10/2007 10:43

Our night wasn't too bad - B awake at 12 but settled without feed then again at 3 and then at 6 then slept till 8. Actually typing it makes it look a bit grim - but she fed quickly at 3 and 6 (I was at least semi asleep during) and we had a lovely cuddly sleep between 6 and 8. Also hadn't gone to bed at 12 - so didn't have to get up
COME ON ENGLAND indeed - we're taking girls out for family day of walking/exploring and picnic - when I get my act together - B currently asleep on me!

leakyR · 20/10/2007 11:16

Here's a pic of Eva at home!

She looks scrummy. Can't wait to meet her and have a cuddle.

Had nice day with my brother yesterday. The boy loves to shop. Felt ridiculous trailing round Havey Nic's with him wearing my Primark jumper and shoes! He's moving to Australia in November so is visiting more regularly than ever before. Will miss him when he goes but seems hard to imagine him on the other side of the world. He seems quite smitten with George: bought him this and this and this while I was in the baby changing room. I usually only buy him Debenhams stuff in the sale

Sympathy with all those with poorly dcs. G seems to have a cold and is not a happy bunny.

Have been saved from another trip to Ikea as what we want is out of stock. Went last Saturday and it was hellish.

Dh working this morning but back this pm. Will get cracking with housework while he amuses G. ILs coming to visit tomorrow on their way back to Northumberland from London.

Quite looking forward to rugby but envisage lots of abusive texting beytween DH and BIL (Eva's dad) who is South African.

leakyR · 20/10/2007 11:19

Excuse my dodgy spelling and punctuation in previous post. G is asleep on me and I never did get the hang of one-handed typing

SharpMolarBear · 20/10/2007 11:21

Hi Leaky,
Sorry to hear G is ill, hope he's soon over it.
I couldn't see that picture of Eva, sorry, as can't log in. When are you meeting her, do you have a date planned yet?
Hope everyone else is OK. I have done all the housework I am doing today

leakyR · 20/10/2007 11:24

Maybe in a few weeks time, once they're settled in at home. DH has a meeting in London on Fri 16th Nov so might go down for that weekend.

Eddas · 20/10/2007 12:00

hi everyone, Leaky, so pleased that little Eva is home

For those with little girls I am sorting out dd's wardrobe from birth to 3, possibly including age 3-4.

I am going to sell some of it on but some things will be going to the charity shop but wanted to offer it to people here first for just the cost of postage. These bits are all in great condition but are from places like Matalan/Tesco etc so not worth selling on IYSWIM. If anyone is interested let me know on my email nicolalorpin at hotmail dot com. Hope no one is offended by me offering these bits but they really are in good condition and if I knew anyone with a dd of the right ages then i would be passing them on.

Hope everyone is having a good sat. Mine is rather crap as dh is working then straight to footie. DD is bored so is being a shit. Am housebound and look like a tramp as the bathroom was started yesterday and not able to wash my hair.Nice. Off to MIL's later to bath everyone! It'll be back in action by tomorrow evening, phew!

oooggs · 20/10/2007 15:02

one off here but dts went from 6.45pm - 1.30am (feed) - 7.00am probably never do it again.

I am off tonight with 5 other new mummies (children 5mths - 7mths) to a local Chinese resturant, can't wait

gotta go so no time for personals sorry

weepotion · 20/10/2007 15:33

SharpMolarBear · 20/10/2007 15:40

weeonion, doesn't sound like you had a good time, hope everything's OK

nappynuttynormabutty · 20/10/2007 16:18

Leaky - Fab news about Eva, that pic is fab. If you ever want anything from Ikea and don't want to fight the crowds, let me know cos dh can nip by on his way home from work and you could then pick it up from here at the weekend or whatever iyswim.

Oooggs - have a good time tonight.

GMM - woohooo we won!!!! Oh and I'm getting Erin "My first Liverpool kit" pj's for xmas!!! Would put a link but it's saying the site is unavailable at the mo.

CaptainDippy · 20/10/2007 18:00

Hello - exhausted after another full-on day!! P up at 6am, other 2 up at 6.30am; out for coffee with friend from 10 til 12.30, then out for picnic lunch and all afternoon on the beach - walked there and back, then tea and now DH with the girls in the bath and I am sorting washing ...... ok .... so actually I am on MN!!

So wonderful that Eva is back home with her mummy and daddy, Leaky! Fab pic!

How has everyone's days been today? Apart from being shattered, it has been good!

VamPesha · 20/10/2007 18:04

Leaky - brilliant news about Eva and really lovely pics

Well D is still coughing away and generlly very clingy and miserable although slightly better today I think (touch wood!!). has been in my bed feeding probably eery hour if not more through the night, I try not to wake up too much but it feels almost constant and my back is knackered from sleeping in same position with arm up and him in armpit all night. Also his 2nd tooth broke through ages ago but then stayed like that until last week and turns out its actually 2 right next to each other coming up together - no wonder he'd been sleeping worse lately eveb before getting cough. Really really hoping we can get back to how he was before all this and he hasn't got too used to being in with mummy and comfort sucking all night

The dog is home, has to go back on friday for blood tests to check his liver levels have returned to normal, but seems much much better now Has cost me £263 so far though and thats not including next fridays appointment and tests Have already booked hall and given out invites for dd's birthday party but wont have any entertainment now (was gonna be disco) but will just take a cd player and play party games and I'm sure my family will help out with food. This has all made a very big dent in my christmas and birthday money though Luckily we have been invited out on christmas day with all dp's family for lunch, I was still going to cook a roast on boxing day and do all the xmas food thing cos i love doing it and noone elses is ever quite the same plus you dont get the left overs! But think we will have to just try and spend alot of the xmas week sponging off visiting family members! Sorry to go on but I'm so pissed off, I thought I had it all just about covered and then this happens

Have applied for a 2nd job today though as courier - would be ideal as is completely flexible hours so could fit around dc, bfing and school job. Said may have to wait up to 4 weeks before I even hear if I've got an interview though so prob not gonna make a big difference to xmas but you never know and we could still use the extra money anyway.

Have just finished my 2nd grass roots assignment - did I mention my assignment last week was to visit a certain local night spot and buy a drink and meal and stay till at least 11pm!! Didnt make any money but it was a free night out (cost of food and drink was covered) which was fab!

Oh CD - have you thought of running a music with mummy group? Or is it not your sort of thing? They give you training and backing but unlike most of these things where it costs £1000s to start its only about £150 for training and equipment and then a monthly license fee but I think you can do quite well out of it. I'd love to do it but think now is not the right time for me, I think I need to get myself back into doing regular work again before I start trying to set up my own ventures although I'm very tempted! I think maybe next year for me.

Sorry this is so self obsessed and self pitying, again , I'll try and stop now!

Oh potc - what were you up to posting drunk all night And what was with the text message about fancying Gary Barlow??
