that sounds...difficult

Idreamofbroomsticks · 19/10/2007 14:09

POTC, you are bonkers (but in a nice way of course ). I studied part-time for a degree in civil engineering long before I had children, and that was hard enough. Hats off to you girl!

Eddas · 19/10/2007 15:58

dd just gave ds his beaker. I told her she ought to ask first.

DD said to ds, Harry do you want some juice

Not quite what I meant

Eddas · 19/10/2007 19:05

where have you all gone

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 19:10

I'm here, meant to be hoovering

nappynuttynormabutty · 19/10/2007 19:12

Blimey it is quiet. I'm busy sorting out some techie stuff!!! It's going well at the moment, tho I might be bugging Katy for some of her expertise .

nappynuttynormabutty · 19/10/2007 19:12

x-posted, don't worry not needing any at the moment so you don't need to stop hoovering

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 19:14

I can't hoover, the rest of my family is asleep
obviously I'm fine having got up with T at 4, then at 6.30! (Not complaining, that's nothing compared to some babies, but DH sleeps RIGHT THROUGH!)
Anyone heard from leaky?

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 19:16

littlest family member now awake and grumpy

elkiedee · 19/10/2007 19:27

Hi all, just had another busy day here, so have just caught up on a thread read. phdlife, you're not the only one whose baby needs constant entertaining. A few months ago I dreaded days on my own at home because I would get too mopey, I'm not feeling down in that way any more but D is much happier if we go out properly at least part of the day. So I'll need to find things for Wed/Thur/Fri next week.

mammyjo · 19/10/2007 19:39

Hi all. Quickly popping in as v tired after busy day at work. Dh is once again doing my head in. He has buggered off fishing and left me with all the tidying up and bottle making and kid sorting to do I wouldnt mind, but it is such a case of as long as he is ok he doesnt give a fuck about anyone else. I am really starting to get to the end of my tether in dealing with it all. It is his birthday tomorrow and I really cant be bothered to smile and be nice to him.

mammyjo · 19/10/2007 19:40

Sorry, I am such a misery lately, I know I am. I am just sick of being a doormat.

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 19:55

mammyjo, yes iswym, if he at least acknowledged that you do a hell of a lot

oooggs · 19/10/2007 20:02

mammyjo - we don't think you are a misery

eddas - lol at dd 'offering' ds a drink

well phdlife & elkie - HAVE TWINS they entertain each other woo hoo and ds1.

all asleep at the mo but never sure how long for. I think it is cold down here, heaven knows what it is like up north!!!!

how the pasties going Liath??????

liath · 19/10/2007 20:11

mammyjo, he really seems to be taking you for granted. Feel free to vent here, we're here for you.

Ooggs, I think it's fair to say that I NEVER want to make Cornish Pasties ever again. What a clart! I had to chuck the first batch of proletarian pastry away and in the end the pasties just seemed a bit dry and bland. I'll see what my Grandfather makes of them but I doubt they'll be a patch on his mother's!! Oh well.... I made a nice cake, though - banana & apricot loaf.

Bought a haggis for supper which then burst while I was boiling it and turned into slurry. Nice .

oooggs · 19/10/2007 20:16

my last pasties were a diaster, I crammed so much into them that they didn't crimp properly and therefore the inside didn't cook - I have learnt but it is actually cheaper (and quicker) to buy them

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 20:17

lol at proleteriat pastry
learn from your mistakes - upper class pastry all the way. you'll have to create tiny pastry monocles for each one

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 20:18

getting my pastries and pasties confused

liath · 19/10/2007 20:21

Wonder if you can mail-order pasties from Cornwall?

AuntieMeemz · 19/10/2007 20:21

mammyjo
sorry to hear about dh. My friend has a dh who is not always so forthcoming with his help. The other week, she promised him a day of passion, so he put the whole day aside, and she buggered off with her mates for the day! It seems to have helped him focus a bit.

I've been away from my 'puter a few days. Mostlly rushing around, wasting heaps of time going to interiews which have been a total and utter waste of my time and effort. (only went to keep the agency happy) well no more.

Funny how fate takes a hand. I have been asked by two lovely families to start chidminding again. Both are well known to me. Maybe that is the direction to go in.

I've got all the baby clothes down, and an mow spending all day preparimg them to sell on Ebay, wish I'd never started this, there are sacks and sacks and sacks of them!

liath · 19/10/2007 20:22

LOL at pastry monocles!

AuntieMeemz · 19/10/2007 20:22

liath
yes, you can order pasties and cream for that matter from cornwall, I have seen sites on the web.

liath · 19/10/2007 20:24

Mmmm.

Clotted cream!

Used to spend every summer in Devon & Cornwall as a child. Lovely place, really should go back.

oooggs · 19/10/2007 20:42

this is just one of many Liath!!!!!
