Off to make a cake to take to manchester now.

Lucewitch · 24/10/2007 20:41

VanPesha, party games:

The usual musical chairs and statues.
Red rover, Simon says and Duck duck goose etc.

The one where they take it in turns trying to cut up a bar of chocolate with plastic cutlery and can eat what they manage to cut off (which is very little).

Team games (for in a hall)

Flap the Fish
Cut a fish out of a single sheet of newspaper (dcs can decorate them pre-party when need entertaining ).
Use a rolled up newspaper to flap the fish along the floor.
Spilt the kids up into teams and have a race up and down the hall like a relay.

Balloon between the knees races

Poor Kitty
Arrange the group in a circle with a blindfolded player in the center. Then have the players move around the circle very quietly. The blindfolded player should approach the circle in any direction and secure a victim who,
in a disguised voice, says 'poor kitty' and then imitates the 'meow' of a cat. If the blindfolded player fails to identify his prisoner, he releases him and the game continues. If he succeeds, the two change places.

Cant think of any more at he moment but hope that the party goes well for you

Evening

Leaky, bet you cant wait to meet Eva. Only a few weeks to go!!

Pinions, reading your post made me well up again as I have only just (a few days ago) given up bf. I have done it as a very gradual thing over the last 3 or 4 weeks. No problems with engorgement at all as my supply has just adjusted itself. F got that she didnt want to bf in the day, so I started only feeding evening and overnight. She then dropped the night feeds so I was only feeding her once a day pre bed, and Saturday evening was the last one of those too. Feel quite again now just typing this Its so hard and I never expected to feel so emotional about it.

Elkie, lots of luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you

CD, I really hope that my boobies are not still milky in 2 or 3 months time!!

NL, lol at the wispas!

WO, hope you are ok xx

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 20:58

DH just come in and has bought me a wispa! He was wise enough to buy one for himself too.

Pinions · 24/10/2007 21:17

MJ I know it is painful to undergo. I have honestly felt almost as if I have lost a part of my womanhood how crazy is that.

I do not remember feeling this way when I gave up bf DS1 but then that time it was only a matter of weeks, so I guess that is the difference.

At least you managed to do it over a period of a few weeks, but still I know how hard it really is. I decided to go "all out" because that way it would have been well and truly over, but now thinking about it probably not the best of options really. Having said that, T is most certainly less interested in booby than when he was smaller, and during the daytime he could not care less whether he had it or not.

Its just THAT look that crops up every now and then, when your heart just melts for them, it really is hard I know, but I am sure you are now over the worst ?? xx

OK off for a bath and to ponder on todays events, night ladies x

Sexonlegs · 24/10/2007 22:06

Hi ladies

Weepotion, I was thinking about you this evening. How are you?

Luce, pmsl at look away sol! Love ya! We played the cutting up chocolate with plastic knife and fork game. It is great fun.

Elkie, good luck with the hv tomorrow.

Hi Dooby.

Mammyjo, hope you are ok petal. Hate to think of our Welsh Domestic Goddess being sad. x

All ok here, although K seems really unsettled. Keep hearing her on the monitor squeaking and shuffling. Have left her to it, as she drops off again, but feel we may have a pants night and the Medised will be out!

Also been trying to work tonight as there is so much going on and so much that needs attending to.

Anyway, am done in, so off to bed. See you loveies tomorrow. xx

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 22:29

Forgot to say - all the best with the hv Elkie - you are a fabulous mother and D is doing great - had a look at the pictures on your profile and just love the one in the zebra suit!

Party games

Beat the Bunny: Needs 2 balls (different sizes) Sit in a circle. The small ball (the "bunny") is started first and is passed from child to child around the circle. When the bunny is about half way around, the farmer (large ball) is started in the same direction. The goal is two is to touch the bunny with the farmer. The farmer can change directions to try and catch the bunny, but the bunny can only go one way. If someone drops the bunny, they are out. If someone is holding the bunny when tagged by the farmer, they are out. Last one in wins

Blindfold cottonball race: Needs bowls, spoons, cotton balls. This games works best when you play two players at a time. Blindfold the players and give each a spoon. Place two bowls in front of each player, one of which Is has 20 cotton balls. The other bowl is empty. Say go! Each player must transfer as many cotton balls from one bowl to the other in 30 seconds. The trick is that they are so light you can't really feel them on you spoon and this makes it hard. The winner is the player who transfers the most.

Clothes peg Relay: A relay race where teams try to drop clothes pegs in a cup from between their knees.

Clothespeg Tag: Clamp as many clothespegs as possible onto the clothes of your opponents.

Smartie Sucker: Divide into two teams of three or four players. Fill a small bowl with smarties for each team. Give each player a straw. Say go! Teams have 60 seconds to suck as many smarties as they can out of the bowl with the straws. The team with most smarties wins!

SharpMolarBear · 25/10/2007 02:31

Morning
Been up with T since 1.30. Was asleep after feed but when I put him in cot he wriggled, stretched & just didn't seem to settle. So tried nappy. He screamed his way through change. Another tiny feed. Asleep again. Refused t be put down again. He seemed to be in pain, or something was upsetting him, he wanted to be asleep! so have calpoled him, hopefully that will aloow him to sleep. Soon...........................

SharpMolarBear · 25/10/2007 02:33

oh and he now has calpol all down his front, up his nose, on the back of his head. He stinks and is sticky, and so do i.

Sexonlegs · 25/10/2007 08:08

Morning all

Leaky, what great party games they sound!

Another one I thought of, but can't remember the name of is where you have to stuff as many marshmallows in to your mouth as you can within 60 seconds. Keeps the kids quit too!

SMB, how is T today?

K was fine through the night - I didn't think she would be. I had prepared myself, and filled the nurofen syringe with medised - just in case. So much easier than using a spoon and you get more of it in them!

Plans for today ladies?

We are going to bake some cookies and then off to a friends after lunch.

xx

SharpMolarBear · 25/10/2007 08:14

morning sol
he doesn't seem too bad thanks, he didn't seem in pain, just discomfort when i put him in his cot. Think he'll sleep well today
Glad you had a good night

liath · 25/10/2007 08:16

How was the rest of the night, SMB?

Ooggs, sorry that your nights are so crap at the moment. It really pulls you down doesn't it?

Ds is getting up on his hands & knees now -eek! Have to get eyes in the back of my head to makes sure dd doesn't leave anything within his reach that he could choke on.

Have fairly much abandoned BLW in favour of spoons! I've loved BF but feel I'd love it more if he fed a bit less IYKWIM .

Hope evryone else is well, been trying to keep up with the news but then mind goes blank - need to take notes.

liath · 25/10/2007 08:16

Ooh, check out the Halloween smileys - cool!!

Eddas · 25/10/2007 08:28

morning, snap liath, ds got on his knees so dd is being told to move everything, i think it's gonna take a while to retrain her

Not much planned today just buying a light for the bathroom and a pull cord. Exciting stuff
