I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

Evening all, does anyone watch New Tricks? I don't quite get the attraction

Hey Daisy, how're things? Nan and Pa still here. I have to say that it has been great. DS3 ill last week and i don't know what we would have done without them. We had a rush trip into a&e as had rash, vomiting and temp (cue meningitis) BUT ALL WAS FINE - thank god. How's mrr & babyboo?

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 21:18

Ellsbels - am in Glasgow so don't think same culprit! Doesn't boost self esteem much tho.

upsyderlor · 15/10/2007 21:19

Flip annobal, what a relief x
i've tried that new tricks prog as well - wasn't impressed, not watched it again since.

Sputnik · 15/10/2007 21:19

Shit, just had to remove a scorpion from DD's room

Elsbells · 15/10/2007 21:21

Delor you have had a nice day then...can we trade lives ; ha ha

upsyderlor · 15/10/2007 21:22

nightmare Sputnik, i was then remembered where you live! (muppet emoticon)

annobal · 15/10/2007 21:22

LOL at THAT site Daisy. I managed to open it while my mum was looking over my shoulder

upsyderlor · 15/10/2007 21:23

Aahhhhh Els - if only EVERY day was like today !!!

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 21:23

babyboo is a poppet. she laughs her way through the day and is developing a really playful personality. MRR, not such a poppet. He had a 20 minute hissy fit earlier about going to his swimming lesson (he had a near drowning experience last week ). Needless to say I didn't force him.

Maybe I should look to designing the perfect all-in-one nappy......not sure yon ballantyne chappy would be impressed with nappies though.

does anyone watch Street Doctors? They were in Edinburgh tonight and I was feeling very very homesick. and does anyone else think Dr Jonty is a bit sexy?

annobal · 15/10/2007 21:24

Shit Sputnik - well done! I think I would be having a little fit by now.

I had a sip of water in the dark last night and got a mouthful of something that moving in my mouth. I am trying not to think about it

annobal · 15/10/2007 21:25

try moved

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 21:26

Hi Derlor. Is it common practice for HV clinic not to be covered when HV on hols? DD was about to miss 2nd jags cos HV on hols, had to make special appt at diff clinic for them as I need them done on time cos of going O/S. Have now changed GP & hence HV. Explained when signed up at new practice the importance of having jags on time etc. Have appt for 3rd jags on Thurs just in time for going - stressed this when made appt. Got home tonight to msg on machine - new H/V on hols, appt cancelled, call to make another next week - when we will be in Australia. AAAAARRRRSSSSEEE. Will it be a prob if she has to wait till we come home - she will be over 6 months old by then? Can/Will GP give them instead?

Sorry - bit of a long one.

Elsbells · 15/10/2007 21:26

Tallulah - you are r so right. Does not boost esteem at all. Maybe ask her how far along she is next time?

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 21:28

Tallulah adn Derlor, while you are both in the one place. I'll be in fife from 22nd to 29th December....fancy a meet-up in Glasgow? (family commitments allowing.....i realise it's a crazy time of year) MHC is up for it as well, and if Twiga is lurking???

annobal · 15/10/2007 21:30

Tallulah - take your red book and have the imms in oz. They should have imms in each council each week - just check with your local council or drs surgery. It shouldn't cost.

Have decided to have 2nd imms postponed for DS3 as the last lot gave him such a bad reaction - he'll be 16 weeks by the time he has 2nd lot...

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 21:30

sputnik...you want to get some barbecue tongs, then you can grab them just below the sting, but keep them at arms length!

obviously we get a lot of scorpions in Leeds

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 21:32

Sounds good Daisy but we only just get back around then so would depend on jetlag, settling back in & giving GPs their fix of DD after 2 months absence. Oh & bloody Xmas too. But if I can make it, I will.

Elsbells · 15/10/2007 21:32

Sputnik you're a brave woman. I can't stand creepy crawlies. UGH

Night all

upsyderlor · 15/10/2007 21:34

nightmare Tallulah, depends on the size of the practice, is there only 1 HV? Where i work there are 12 of us that cover the whole area so clinics are ALWAYS covered (or the boss goes cataclismic with you) GP could certainly give them, but may choose not to cause they can be arsey, Practice nurse may also be worth a try. Explain Oz situation and ask if you could come in early (outwith actual immunisation clinic) to see HV before her hols if this is possible.
Jags NEED to be a MIMIMUM of 4 weeks apart so if you have time then try to get them somehow before you go.

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 21:35

tallulah, the sure start centres here have well baby clinics, and anyone can take their bub there for immunisations. Can you find out when they have their clinic. A friend of mine used to take her DC to surestart rather than her GP as they did an evening clinic and she worked.

upsyderlor · 15/10/2007 21:38

oh yes i'll come to meet up

annobal · 15/10/2007 21:39

Right, have been grumped at by DH for suggesting he go to bed (fallen asleep on couch - cue 'why don't you shutup') and REALLY don't get the attraction of New Tricks so am going to take myself off to bed and sulk like terry teenager.

Nite all

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 21:42

Only one HV Derlor. Made this appt couple weeks ago & told them then about travel plans. Sounds like HV may be away already. Why wait till almost 6pm Mon to cancel my Thurs appt? We leave a week today. They were closed when I called tonight so will try tomorrow but not much leeway to get them done this week. Will google surestart, see if something nearby. Thanks Daisy.

upsyderlor · 15/10/2007 21:42

night annobal (enjoy your sulk )
