I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 16:31

hi teabag.

I am having a moment of smugness and glee because BIL who is ALWAYS right and very sanctimonious (sp?) with it has just been proved wrong. I can't wait til he rings headmaster-style later to find out the news

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 16:32

what is tom yum soup?

teabag007 · 15/10/2007 16:33

yay fay, i'm with you there, we'll do a meet up, i'm on public transport but will travel a little...
andiem, you're right, you just have to get on with these things....just have to make sure i haven't been on the madras the night before...now that was the worst nappy i've seen so far....

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 16:35

sorry...had to do school run.

I've beent hinking about becoming a nappy advisor or even starting up my own nappy company. fury was just giving me a bit of encouragement.

So....watch this space. Holly, my website can be your first commission

Hi teabag....did you have a good weekend?

I spoke to my HV and she said it's better if you wait till 26 weeks, but anything after 20 weeks is generally OK, so is turning a blind eye as DD is 19 weeks. She said to go slowly and be dictated by LO and not to introduce meat, dairy or wheat until after six months.

I've got a blocked duct again . It started being sore this afternoon and is now agony, inspite of feeding on that side for ages. I swear my boobs have gotten bigger again; I though they were supposed to settle down by now

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 16:36

tom yum is thai hot and sour soup (can't remember if it has noodles in ot not)...it is deeeelicious.

hi ria!

teabag007 · 15/10/2007 16:37

hi ria, always fun to prove really smug ones wrong...
tom yum is spicey thai seafood soup, yum yum

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 16:40

but daisy, you know NOTHING about real nappies and don't like them

for your boobs (now when could you say that in RL?) mine are getting much bigger. not fair, they were big enough before.

don't like the sound of the soup...

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 16:44

have you got your minky yoyos yet?

teabag007 · 15/10/2007 16:48

hi daisy, the nappy thing sounds right up your street. good weekend thank you, nice and quiet

sorry to hear about the blocked ducts, have you tried massaging your boobs, as a matter of course, i think it helps me prevent them blocking, i do it whilst feeding

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 16:54

thanks for the advice teabag...i think my growing boobs are too big for my bras, but i've spent a farking fortune on bras this pregnancy and refuse to buy any more.

ria, the postie came during the school run this morning so got to go to delivery office tomorrow. Am very as he id never that earlys

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 16:59

bloody posties. i think they wait until you go out. no parcels here yet, but still getting plenty of junk, but my lakeland catalogue came

I liked your idea the other night of an off-licence delivery service for housebound mums. would you do you nappy stuff on-line? I think it's a good idea. and you would be able to try them all in the name of research...

DH has just gone for a lie-down.

LittleMissNorty · 15/10/2007 17:09

So are you starting on the baby rice then Daisy?

I'm just going to stick to a teaspoon of rice for a week or so at lunch-time feed...is that the right thing to do? What does "be guided by LO" actually mean?

LittleMissNorty · 15/10/2007 17:09

Nappy advisor v good idea btw.....weren't you going to do bf advice as well?

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 17:13

you could be a doula daisy.

justbeme · 15/10/2007 17:30

hi you chatty lot!

Our post is a bit sporadic too - still waiting on dps birthday card from my mum with voucher sent for 7/10.

L had her worst night 4 ages as well last night - woke up 3 times - she's 14 weeks 2mrow - dont tell me about the 4mth growth spurt - (fingers in ears la la la)

Thinking of moving her out moses basket soon - I think she was waking up 'cos she keeps shuffling up to the top end and getting her head "stuck" - is any one elses still in moses basket??

dogtanian · 15/10/2007 17:31

Sounds good daisy! I have been thinking about getting sewing again and maybe making some nappies. They are going to be double layered and called Double Deckers! I had a dream about it!

I also had a dream about the guy who played Nick in My Family, the one on the BT ads. I won't go into details, but it was very similar to my Paul from Tikkabilla dream!

andiem · 15/10/2007 17:33

back from school and tea cooked am out tonight so need to get lo in bath and fed by 6.30 ish.

nappy thing sounds like a great idea for you daisy you are the thread expert

since I aa going to be sahm am thinking of training to be bfc with the association of bf mothers

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 17:52

I thought about training as a doula ria, but with DH working away, it's a bit difficult. No-one to look after the DCs if I was out all night. I must quiz the doula ladies and see how they manage it.

I'm sure mhc is doing doula training or is a doula.

Yea, I would obbviously need to try all the products I stocked. Holly would you do me a really good trade price and exclusivity on selling your double deckers (have visions of purple and orange nappies now)

Sputnik · 15/10/2007 17:56

Re moses basket, mine sleeps the carrycot bit of our travel system still(until whaatever time he comes into bed withus). Last night we were out to dinner with friends and she looked at him sleeping and asked "does he always sleep with 1 arm up in the air?" We then realised he couldn't actually fit it in anymore as he had on a cardi

time to sort out the cot

LittleMissNorty · 15/10/2007 18:14
