I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

OP posts:

In 3 years and counting DD has rarely woken up without crying.Baby S is much more cheerful, luckily

Sputnik · 11/10/2007 17:35

So basically we all became super heroes and some of us name changed. Then TA and BZ
fell out and took time out. TA came back after 5 minutes. DKMA got upset too and left.
Hope all will be back soon

riabutterflew · 11/10/2007 17:35

could you spell it oopsydaysee?

about a 15 min drive, but there are roundabouts and turning right!

riabutterflew · 11/10/2007 17:37

don't forget milkyjammy.(jamantha)

milkyJammy · 11/10/2007 17:51

LO has screamed for well over an hour now. She's fed, dry, nice temperature - well she's slightly warm after all the exertion but was fine t start with. She started crying when I put her in chair to cut up potatos for tea, now won't stop n matter what I do. Have given cuddles, calpol and bonjela. Now out of ideas.

milkyJammy · 11/10/2007 17:52

I can see my night out walking out the door

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 11/10/2007 18:09

Ok I'm back from the shops and have caught up.

For the record I would like to explain myself...

A raw nerve of mine was hit this afternoon - and thats all. It is my problem that relates to my upbringing and my relationship with my dad and my stepmother/s.
I have no knowledge of Ria's situation at all and it is non of my business - I most certainly did not expect Ria to have to explain herself.
I do and always will get upset when I hear stepchildren being badmouthed - purely because it happened to me (and I am aware that some step children are nightmares and deserve it)
Comments like 'he's a brat' and 'his mother put him up to it' quite honestly make my blood boil, but I am aware that is my problem and I should learn to not be so defensive.

I know this is an issue for me and that is why I chose not to comment any further and take some time out.

I like to be honest with people - and in real life I stick up for my friends when I feel they are being picked on, and I try to assert myself positively when I feel I am upset etc.

Life involves gritty conflict sometimes - we can't always agree on everything and kiss each others arses all the time.
I appologise for seeming stroppy.

IAmAHairyTrucker · 11/10/2007 18:13

Hello ladies, can I join you? I like long country walks, romantic comedies and trucking!

riabutterflew · 11/10/2007 18:20

I'm glad you're back DKMA, I certainly didn't mean to upset you.

I like you get defensive about the same subject, but from the point of view of the absent dad in this case, who would have much preferred to have a role in his sons life but was actively discouraged after he met me, but yet it's still always him in the wrong. I think it's sad that they both missed out, and DH hardly gets a chance to do anything before he gets criticised. FWIW I aren't very good at the step thing, but I try, and it's much easier now DSD is over 18 (she is godmother to ds2), so maybe it'll turn out the same with him, maybe not. We're always here if they need us and I hope they know that.

Anyway, I think the subject has been covered from both our angles and it was nothing personal, just "personal".

As we were?

Sputnik · 11/10/2007 18:21

You didn't come over as stroppy DKMA. Glad you are back [kiss] (on FACE)

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 11/10/2007 18:23

riabutterflew · 11/10/2007 18:23

Sputnik · 11/10/2007 18:24

Finally, a real hairy trucker

Sputnik · 11/10/2007 18:26

IAmAHairyTrucker · 11/10/2007 18:28

Hello sputnik, fancy a long walk by the river and a long pub lunch?

CunningPlanFormulator · 11/10/2007 18:30

FUCK!!! I just bought a car!!

milkyJammy · 11/10/2007 18:33

she;s calmed down after a spell on the changing mat kicking about nappy-free, with us blowing on the toy windmill I bought her at the seaside to make it go round.

If she calms down enough to go to bed I might get to go out after all

upsyderlor · 11/10/2007 18:34

oh dear so some right old bitching pigtail pulling been going on then huh??
well i'll just keep out of it all cause it's none of my farking business since i wasn't even here.

FWIW i would like to formally apologise to you all for my unexplained hasty disappearance. TBH it's not till you go that you appreciate what a lovely freindly and caring bunch you lot are - i've just had a read back and noticed that you were worried about me and i never thought you would really be that bothered TBH! so, i feel all now and also a bit at the fact that i just ran off and ignored you all for a couple of weeks xxxx

Sputnik · 11/10/2007 18:35

Only if they serve greasy eggs and floppy chips.

milkyJammy · 11/10/2007 18:35

Was it an intentional purchase, or did you add too many zeros in an ebay bid or something?

upsyderlor · 11/10/2007 18:35

did you buy it on ebay???? ((hi Holly, btw))

Sputnik · 11/10/2007 18:37

I gave DS baby rice! Only a teeny taster. Scarily he will only eat ir if he gives it to himself. Stubborn as his bloody mother.
