I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

OP posts:

LittleMissNorty · 15/10/2007 19:34

Great news Fury....about time too!

annobal · 15/10/2007 19:49

Thanks for the recipes Sputnik. The vege lasagne especially looks lovely!

Foxy boys are really well thanks. They loved the montessori today! Whenever I got upset at the thought of leaving current nursery I just kept thinking how much it costs! How are your gorgeous ones? It would be lovely to catch up again

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 20:04

annobal DH is not convinced on montessori... then again, he is an engineer!

justbeme · 15/10/2007 20:10

Does any one have one of those special breastfeeding pillows ie "My brest friend" or a widgee or something?? What do you think? Im fed up having to pile up loads of cushions and still not getting L to the right height - fear I may end up like the hunch back of Notre Dame!!

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 20:13

hi annobal. are your folks still visiting with you?

We went to see a montessori nursery for DS when I was wroking full time, but didn't like it. It was all a bit bleak; this pristine white room, with only a very few educational toys, and the children seemed eerily well behaved and quiet. The carer actually left DH and I alone in the room with two or three of the kiddies for about five minutes. We were a bit at that.

Evening all
Hi Annobel, Daisy, Fury, Justbeme and anyone else online.

Fury, I am having major weight issues at the moment. Does eating Nutella straight out of the jar count as a snack? I think it is the stress driving me to chocolate.

My DS is really living up to the terrible 2's. And I caught him squishing DD today. Not sure if it was a hug or a rugby tackle.

Justbeme- I have one of those maternity pillows (used whilst pg and when I BF for both DC's). It was the best £ I spent. It was actually a long snake like pillow that I could shape around me for sleep or feeding.

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 20:26

jbm, I got an inflatable one from boots which was quite good, but then it got a puncture after four weeks, so maybe not that good

I've now got a polyester filled V shaped support pillow that I bought at the local mill shop. It is really fab. I find now that she's bigger, feeding is much easier without any support or pillows....or maybe that's down to my humungous saggy norks and nipples that nearly reach my lap when sitting

anyhoo, leaving you with that image, i will say that I've seen a few different ones for sale on ebay.

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 20:32

Me too elsbells.
Diet went well today until I devoured a family size pack of maltesers.

But they are LIGHT, goddammit!

Elsbells · 15/10/2007 20:48

I ate a box of them the other day. A neighbour bought them for DS and I ATE THEM. I ate my own DS Maltesers.

That seems wrong.

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 20:49

every easter, every christmas

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 20:53

Ahhh - wee one fast asleep in her new cot. Wondered how she'd take to the move out of moses basket but seems fine. She looks toty at the bottom of the cot - made me go all gooey.

Did the b/f talk to medical students today, was Ok, v informal & got paid 15 quid. Sure they were riveted to hear about my mastisis, thrush & raynaud's syndrome [sarcastic].

Went for a leg wax too.
Therapist : Working today?
Me: On Mat leave.
Her: How far on are you?
Me: My daughter is 4 months old
Her:Oh so you know what you're having.
Me: I've had the baby
Who's got the info on WW / SW. Think I might need it.

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 20:58

Tallulah, i hope you scarred her forever witha pot of hot legwax....cheeky cow

A friend of a friend of mine asked me if I'd had the baby yet when we went out for dinner last month

anyone struggling for Chrimbo pressie ideas? I could get my MIL a brooch....i doubt she'd know what she was looking at

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 20:59

Nah Daisy but I certainly didn't leave a tip.

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 21:01

Daisy - now I've seen it all!

riabutterflew · 15/10/2007 21:03

daisy, how did you find that site?

Sputnik · 15/10/2007 21:06

People's capacity to not listen to a word you say is amazing sometimes

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 21:08

there wasa therad about making a living from crafting and someone linked to a site called Etsy. From there I looked at crochet and say the headbands and the name of the shop....well with a name like that it was just asking to be looked at

I'm thinking a pillow might look lovely at the end of DDs cot . would be worth it just to see the look on people's faces when they realised what it was!!

Elsbells · 15/10/2007 21:08

Oh Ria, Easter is a good one - so many eggs so little chocolate I want to have pass through my DS lips (er, hence over to me)

Tallulah, hi there. Where do you go for your wax? I had a similar conversation when I had my legs waxed a while back (DD was about 8 weeks at this point). Hmmmm guess they really just don't listen.

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 21:10

Tallulah - I had a similar conversation with the nurse at the docs surgery when I went for a blood pressure check a couple of weeks ago. I had thought I was losing some of the weight, albeit gradually - but maybe not

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 21:10

What did you say Sputnik?

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 21:11

Sorry I got confused there , think I'm a bit over-tired and should go to bed. Night all

Elsbells · 15/10/2007 21:15

OMG Daisy that site is practically porn
