I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

OP posts:

are your cars generally male or female? I know people for whom they are always female, but I think it depends on the personality of the car.

my current car is called humfrey...last three letters HMF and he's solid and dependable, like a humphrey would be.

DHs is called sherbet...named by DS when he was two..."because I like sherbert"

i once had a blue mini metro that we called Betty Blue cos she was unpredictable, unreliable and downright farking dangerous.

Am i sounding like a friutloop yet

fairyfay · 13/10/2007 20:52

My Ds seems to be keener on his milk as well now that he's having a few spoons of puree - maybe he was bored

HellHathNoFury · 13/10/2007 20:52

DH's car is called timtam number plate reminds me of the word timtam) and mine is called poker (same reason)

HellHathNoFury · 13/10/2007 20:53

ditto fairyfay DS is eating much better now

fairyfay · 13/10/2007 20:53

I have never given my cars a name but am now thinking maybe I should have. We have a very dull Saab though - not much personality really.

IamDaisy · 13/10/2007 20:54

sorry about the visitors foxy. DS seems to be immune to them as we've never had them. He only has two hairwashes a week max., so I don't know if that's anything to do with it.

IamDaisy · 13/10/2007 20:55

fay, your Saab, would have to be called Sven.

HellHathNoFury · 13/10/2007 20:55

My new car shall be called The Beast. Irrespective of the numberplate.

When I lived in Aus I had a personalised plate, it was 'BADLY'. I drove Badly, Parked Badly, etc.

milkyJammy · 13/10/2007 20:56

Definitely nothing wrong with the 13th. I am a Friday the 13th baby, and DD was also born on the 13th.

Our car is called Charlie Mouse. The colour is Fantasia blue, so someone said we should call "him" Mickey Mouse, but DH hates Mickey Mouse, so we went through other fictional mice until we found one he did like - Charlie Mouse from Bagpuss.

fairyfay · 13/10/2007 20:57

Oooo I like that name, Daisy - Sven it is! thank you

milkyJammy · 13/10/2007 20:57

LOL at the BADLY numberplate

milkyJammy · 13/10/2007 20:58

There was Sven's adult bookshop in Newcastle when I was a student there.

riabutterflew · 13/10/2007 20:58

my first car was miranda the micra. our mazda has no name.

The rabbit is called arthur dent though...

dogtanian · 13/10/2007 21:00

I think my car is a girl, though I'm not really sure how to check!! She is here.

riabutterflew · 13/10/2007 21:01

aawww, charlie mouse.

HellHathNoFury · 13/10/2007 21:01

I'm sorry are we talking about vibrators now? Mine is called Dusty

IamDaisy · 13/10/2007 21:02

LOl at Sven's adult bookshop...

but thinking Charliemouse, what a lovely name. If you ever needed another namechange Jammy.....

PILs are coming over tomorrow...how do I stop myself running around the house like a moronic headless chiken trying to fight a losing battle with the clutter and getting stressed and shouty with everyone?

thankfully it's a lttle better than it was due to FLYlady.

and oh shitey shite, how do we break it to them that we are going to Scotland for Christmas so they won't be sharing in DDs first Christmas?????

udderleyfoxy · 13/10/2007 21:02

I'm a 13th too.

I like Ruby for your car. It was DPs choice for our lo too.

Daisy - its the first time for us, so we've been lucky up til now. I had all the stuff in so could deal with straightaway. I'd recommend keeping a stock just in case (tea tree conditioner and a comb at least). He only had a few but I've been obsessing about it all day.

I do like to bring joy to this thread don't I? Nits, threadworms, facial hair...

riabutterflew · 13/10/2007 21:05

lol fury.

nope, definately the fluffy white monty python killer bunny variety.

aargh - headlice. the work of the devil.

udderleyfoxy · 13/10/2007 21:06

PMSL at Dusty!

Tough one Daisy, but I think you'll have a lovely time away.

IamDaisy · 13/10/2007 21:06

PMSL HHNF...DH is starting to call his penis dusty....cos it is from underuse

riabutterflew · 13/10/2007 21:08

now that is a whole new topic. why do men give names to their bits? it's not as if we're going to chat to it over tea and cakes

IamDaisy · 13/10/2007 21:08

Am I the only one getting a leeetle bit freaked by all these Friday 13th associations on this thread????

HellHathNoFury · 13/10/2007 21:08

Yes Daisy for the same reason. Dusty sits unloved in the back of a drawer. At least DH can shake hands with his unemployed, I think Dusty's batteries will probably leak before he sees the light of day again.

dogtanian · 13/10/2007 21:09

ROFL at dusty!

Has anyone else not done it since baby was born, coz I haven't. Poor dp is gagging for it, but I'm just not!
