Piffle I bet you after several days of illness, no sleep and sheer exhaustion even Dr. and Nurse Sears have been known to have had not very nice feelings towards their babies.

Seriously, sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture for a reason. Is there anyone, a neighbour for example, who can take Finn off you for a few hours so you can just grab a bit of kip? Or even better, two people, one to grab Finn and the other to give the house a little tidy so you really can sleep and don't have to worry about the house?

If I could drive I'd come down myself.

Bethoo I sympathise with the dog situation; I would never give up my pets for any bloke.

Piffle - you are not the only one to have feelings like that, especially if you are sleep deprived and they will not cease in their screaming. i have had the same experience when nothing seems to work and i have had to leave him in his cot and go downstairs. it seems like they do not appreciate what you do for them and all they can do is scream. at those desperate times i too have hated and resented him and felt the rush of love i have disappear but then you have to tell yourself that he does not know that he is hurting you emotionally as well as mentally and physically. once he is back to his normal self yu will find it hard to beleive that you resented him just a few days before!
i hope he is on the road to recovery now as he seems to have been sick for quite a while bless him. take care Piffle

DeathBySnooSnoo · 05/12/2007 12:53

i can cope with Elsie screaming up to a certain point but when its stupid o'clock in the morning and i have to get up in 3 hours and it looks like shes going to be screaming all night then i start getting frustrated and have to just ignore her for a while.(ie go and smoke a fag and rant to myself in the back yard so she doesnt hear what i call her)

she woke last night but thankfully stayed asleep when i put her back in her cot and slept from 12-6.30.

and she still hasnt got anymore bloody teeth

who asked about af?my first was quite heavy i think...ive just started my 8th(?) so i dont know.
mrsS-what did you do differently that stopped you getting PMT this time?tell me the secret!i'm having 2-3 weeks a month of it now and its not funny

Piffle · 05/12/2007 13:01

Thanks so much for those comments.
DP is here today, albeit working fairly seriously, but it is less stressful when you have someone to share it with.

Finn seems to have his full appetite back now and is catching up the lost meals.

Am hoping to cope better tonight...

MrsSlocomb · 05/12/2007 13:15

Finn must be much better if he's eating hooray!!!
Snoo, I've no idea why I sailed through last month. The complete lack of symptoms made me sure I wasn't going to get one then it arrived the next day!!

I was washing the woodwork today, something I do on a
non regular basis . I left Ronnie and dd3 alone for 30 secs, came back and dd3 was washing Ronnie with a sponge. He was sopping wet, covered in bubbles but seemed completely non- plused

DeathBySnooSnoo · 05/12/2007 16:25

lol@the sponge bath!

Elsie has been eating today, having hardly touched any food since sunday.she has demolished some pizza.

dd2 seems to be coming down with it now.its not fair, she was ill last year on her birthday

Rosyrednosily · 05/12/2007 16:33

Piffle I have got like that with the children at various points and have had to over ride my desperation....that's when it really is time to bring out the unconditional love! It's a deep challenge alright!
I met Mother Theresa when I was 14 and she told us to 'love until it hurts.' And as a parent there are plenty of opportunities for that!

I'm just shaking off yet another migraine which I suspect is connected to my mid cycle but I haven't had any af yet....not surprised, I bf all day and all night!

It is ds2 birthday tomorrow and poor guy is vomiting today

Dh turned up at 5am after 3 weeks so we are all excited to have him here. He'll be here til Friday-big wow

Been think, shall I stay as MrsS or shall I go back to kitty ?

awayinamuppet · 05/12/2007 17:42

Piff - you're not alone in having moments like that believe me... Samuel could give lessons to the wardens at Guantanamo Bay about sleep deprivation... if i feel myself losing my temper i just have to shut the door and walk away... it's amazing how rapidly the feelings subside once they've calmed/fallen asleep etc but in that moment of there's not much that can come close to the feeling of frustration/desperation etc.

You sound completely doting to me!

I've always thought of you as kitty Mrs S

Callieco · 05/12/2007 21:07

Hello all, have been lurking for ages but no time or energy to post. Sorry to hear about all the poorly babies, hope all are feeling better now.

I have to share my fantastic achievement this morning with you. The car has failed to start a few times in the past few weeks, including last night when I was about to leave my mum's after packing the car up, of course. Anyway, this morning, I went and bought a new battery and changed it myself!

Have poorly DP so need to go and be nice to him for a few minutes.

Piffle · 05/12/2007 21:12

Blardy well done Callie!!!!!

Well have established cause of Finns true crisis of temper last night.
Teeth
Yes he may have got the two top teeth last weekend, but now his eye teeth next to them are so very sore and about to break through and they are the pointy little sods and he is very very miserable
Since I finally found that out...
Amber teething necklace - hippy mate gave it to me when he was born, said it calmed ratty teething babies when worn close to the skin.
Fact - it worked.
also gave him a dose of nurofen and he ate a bloody good dinner, pudding and went down like a dream.
So have had at least 2 hrs of peace.
Now I feel that at least I know what it is, I can cope.
Oh did I mention also, the two next bottom ones are also rising...
Poor little lad, 6 teeth in 6 days? Ouch
Right must dash...

Kitty you're always Kitty

eidsvold · 05/12/2007 21:17

just a quick message to answer Blonde - mine returned last month when dd3 was 8 months old - think that must be me - as the same thing happened with dd2.

fitfox · 05/12/2007 22:15

Mossy is Timothy Spall going to be in the Christmas Dr Who????

hugs to little Finn

Benn so busy I haven't even had time to lurk - bidding season at work, plus loads of school nativity plays/carol services/first holy communion lessons etc. Reckon I must be so holy by now

Love the name Rosy

MrsS - any progress on Ronnie's neck - any GP appt

of those with no AF

Piffle · 05/12/2007 22:27

I thought I ov'd about 20 days ago, still no Af, prob due to Finns astonishing 24/7 feeding patterns
DEF NOT PREGGERS
but enjoying the non af portion definteily

Piffle · 06/12/2007 09:35

cataclysmia here
My lovely, stoic, adorable, sweet kind and always good dd, has ANOTHER effign bug.
She woke at 10.30 with mega sore throat and temp of 39 (out of nowhere 4 hrs earlier she had eaten 2 sausages, chips and salad and pudding)
She then woke every 3 hrs to be sick.

So here was my night
7pm both Finn and DD to bed
10pm feed Finn
10.30pm sort out DD
11.20pm feed Finn AGAIN
12.30am dd vomits
3.30am Feeding Finn and DD vomits (Dp dealt with her)
6am Feeding Finn, DD vomits (dp dealt again)

She is now crashed out in my bed having been sick 2 more times - her tmp is sky high but canont give her anything due to the sickness, she is sleeping it off in our cool bedroom.

I could weep for her, last night she spent AGES writing out her words for her reception teacher (dd struggles to write due to her vision) to make hr techer proud today.

She is gutted
DP is due home early today as he is sick as well, I might take her words to school for her as she is so upset.

God I love this child, she is so so sweet and good.

Callieco · 06/12/2007 10:03

Kitty, oops, MrsS, have messaged you on FB.

bethoo · 06/12/2007 10:29

morning everyone and sympathies to those whose babies are still poorly.
Hayden had his review yesterday to see if he had put on weight since last month. anyway he now weighs 17 pounds, the same weight as an average 5 month old (explain why he is still in 3-6 month clothes!). how heavy is a nine month old meant to be for heavens sake?? HV finally came ot the conclusion i had made yonks ago that it could be genetic! after pointing out that i am quite slim (size 8 should think so!)and my mum is only 4 foot 10 and dps dad is only 5'6. my poor baby is destined to be short it appears, just hope he still has his good looks when he is older! i am hoping he will take after my dad who is 6 foot.

Rosyrednosily · 06/12/2007 12:43

snoosnoo is it your dd's birthday today? Hope you have a fun day!
It's ds2 3rd birthday today so bit mad here and I'm bitter and twisted with jealousy because Dh snored happily for 9 hours while I had crap all sleep as usual

Hope everyone has a good day.
Piffle take it easy, I hope everyone gets better soon.

fitfox · 06/12/2007 12:50

Hi everyone [hugs] to your lovely DD Piffle

Piffle · 06/12/2007 13:07

bethoo Finn 22/3/07 and weighs 18lbs 9oz

Had to call dr out to dd after she started bringing up blood in her vomit - just a burst blood vessell but her throat is a mess apparently. She has antibiotics but cannot take them til the vomiting stops - 10x in 12 hrs bless her.
Her temp is 40, she is under fan, with windows open and have sponged her. She copes ok with temps but doc hopes throat not causing sickness or she may need IV in 24 hrs time

Anxious does not even come close.

Piffle · 06/12/2007 13:13

Happy birthdays to all the siblings!

MrsSlocomb · 06/12/2007 14:31

hugs to you and your dd piffle

KrIsTTYmas · 06/12/2007 14:36

spongecake · 06/12/2007 20:25

piffle, i hope you dd gets better and also feel for you re sleep. I find it very hard to sleep with a yelling baby in the house, whoever has him-i ask dh to take him out for a walk for an hour. hope your baby gives you a bit of kip anyway
