Kitty-stuff that! get a taxi there and back! Great it came through so soon.

Good to hear alls well with Dolly.

Bethoo keep building yourself up. You are doing brilliantly on your own with not a great deal of support. ~I think it's nice to keep your dp in your life for Hayden and keep an open mind for yourself. Raise your expectations from him. You can love a person unconditionally but you don't have to take their rubbish unconditionally. ie, I love my first husband, really glad he's in my life...also really glad I'm not married or depending on him anymore.

KITTYmaspudding · 10/12/2007 14:11

bethoo, great you've got a game plan, you stick to it!!

Rosy, it'll be 20 squid each way!!!!!!

DeathBySnooSnoo · 10/12/2007 16:34

bethoo-do you think your dp would even bother with hayden if you split with him?i tend to find lazy men like that only want to be a dad when they dont actually have to do any of the work that goes with it.

such has been my experience anyway.i used to go out of my way to accomodate xp as i thought it was important that children have their father in their lives but i realise i was just over romaticising things as i grew up without a father and that sometimes it isn't for the best that children know their fathers.

sazzy-i rarely get annoyed with dd2 even now.she has a tantrum and i'm like 'oh bless!isnt she lovely, she's having a hissy fit'.lol-she's eating crisps with a fork atm

amie-welcome back!!

mossy-that forum sounds heavy going.i didnt realise it was a big cult you grew up in,i thoguht it was like a small local thing.

well i found out today who our new neighbours are going to be-a couple who have a dd in ds2's year at school.i dont really know them but they seem quite nice and friendly, plus they have a 6 year old and a 3 year old as well as the wife being pregnant,so i doubt there will be karaoke/parties

Piffle · 10/12/2007 17:06

Quick hello while I can sneak 5 mins
Amie nice to see you back

Kitty nativity sounds sweet - DD is Mary but as it's tomorrow she cannot go she iss till far too poorly very sleepy, nasty tonsils and light temp.

Finn sleeping a bit better, when he finally submits and lets me leave the room - am out for dinner tonight with my mum and dp is minding so

Bethoo, plenty more fish, reckon you need to go swimming in the ocean my dear. He sounds like a passenger and who needs them when you've got kids. Tough but true.

Mossy, heavy stuff indeed, nice to know others have come through it too though.

Who have I missed, sorry been crap lately moan moan, woe is me soap opera.

foxcubinapeartree · 10/12/2007 18:00

Snoo - good to hear about the new family to be next door - you really deserve some decent neighbours after that last lot

Kitty - well done to your DD - she realised the "show must go on" eh? Mt DD had her nativity today and played a "wise person" - wore a great Crown and loads of bling

I'm strating to feel all fluey - pants, I hate being ill.

foxcubinapeartree · 10/12/2007 18:02

Bethoo it sound sot me as though you've made your decision and are just biding your time. Well done - it doesn't sound as though you love him any longer. I bet Snoo is right about lazy men too - doubt whether yours would jump at the chance to have a baby - he's probably the type who would only like his kid there when he's older and easier to look after. (i.e. can feed and dress himself)

awayinamuppet · 10/12/2007 18:05

Samuel is joining the chesty baby club and is on antibiotics for a chest infection...

... i feel bad too as he was really clingy all weekend and not eating etc - I gave him short shrift as i was tired and dh was away again...

.. now feel bad...

plus the GP made me feel like crying as she made a pointed question about 2 bruises he has on his forehead from falling over when he tries to walk...

... made me feel even more guilty that i hadn't been there to catch him - perhaps i should buy him a crash helmet...

KITTYmaspudding · 10/12/2007 18:41

muppet, that's a silly gp, take no notice.

Well I've been to 2 hospitals today, firstly to the local minor injuries clinc who then sent me on to the eye hospital in town because dd1 decided to poke her face up to a hole where a sky engineer was drilling a new ariel hole through an outside wall with a VERY LONG drill bit. The drill touched her eye
Luckily no lasting damage. Got eye drops etc, just a lot of waiting around

foxcubinapeartree · 10/12/2007 18:46

Muppet poor Samuel [hugs] - ignore the GP like Kittywise says - Monti has scratches all over from where he fell into a basket

Kitty - Eeeek at what could have happened to DD1's eye!!

KITTYmaspudding · 10/12/2007 18:50

Lol@ kittywise, I could have a few laughs with that name eh? Post crimble maybe. I know it doesn't bear thinking about, kids eh?

NotEvenHopingForAWhiteXmas · 10/12/2007 19:07

kitty at DD1!

Those with bruised babies, mine fell out of bed on Saturday morning and has an L shaped bruise on her forehead where she hit the wardrobe (had she fallen the other way she would land on a pillow and bounce).

foxy the link is here. Can't actually vouch for them yet because it hasn't arrived yet (ordered late Thursday evening).

DeckthehallswithboughsofDolly · 10/12/2007 20:17

Hello everyone, long time no post . Have just gone back to work and am really frantic. Haven't bought a single present for anyone, haven't worked out which set of parents we are going to end up with for C'mas (probably neither as both DF and DFIL are ill and can't be around little ones) and don't finish work til next Monday.

Hope you are all well. Both my 2 are fine. DD2 now at nursery and loving it. Can't crawl but sort of throws herself forward on her bum. Doesn't get very far but seems to enjoy it. We have wooden floors at home so she can't get any purchase when she is on her tummy. Oh well, perhaps she'll just miss it out. DD1 cheeky as ever.

Will try to catch up at some stage but hope all mummies well and all babies getting over the various coughs / colds / chest problems which seem to be plaguing loads of S london babies. Take care and love to all XXXX

kiwibella · 10/12/2007 20:57

Muppet... Kate has two bruises on her face from different falls at nursery . They are just from her being over-adventurous.

I'm having problems getting her to settle unless she falls asleep on my breast. It is so exhausting!! Any suggestions appreciated

glad you have better neighbours moving in next door snoo

kitty... omg... drill... that's scary!!! Hope she is ok.

bethoo... agree with Snoo... better no dad than one you have to encourage to be involved. Mr SA sounds lush - lovely to receive a text!!

great to hear from everyone who has dropped by recently and love your updates of the bubbas.

various stages of shuffling / crawling!!

DeathBySnooSnoo · 10/12/2007 23:18

kitty-thank goodness dd1 wasn't too badly hurt

Elsie has a graze on her head where dd2 attacked her with a (plastic, glittery) baubal.

better get ss round to the lot of us eh

my gp upset me today as she claimed not to have said something i know for a fact she did say(tis a long story regarding AD's).plus i felt like i was being too fussy or expecting too much(i just want some antidepressents that make me feel a bit less depressed,i dont think thats so bad?).i fecking hate doctors atm

MerryXMoss · 11/12/2007 08:27

Snoo it was only a local thing, about 100 people at any one time. But the forum has sections for lots of different cults and one just for this one. Yes it is a bit heavy but also quite cathartic!

Eating crisps with a fork, that's funny!

Kitty, at your poor dd1, you must've been petrified. Glad she's okay!!

Kiwibella, Bertie used to only settle on my breast as you may remember. Now you know I'm far too soft to let him cry on his own, so I let him cry himself to sleep while I was cuddling and rocking him (or while dh ws holding and rocking him). The first day it took 26 minutes of screaming but after that it was much quicker and now he just settles instantly. "Crying and fussing in the arms of a loving parent is not the same as crying it out" I kept telling myself.

Bethoo your dp sounds very immature. I guess it sounds like you have some sort of a plan though.

Dolly nice to see you on here again! We are the same here, our floor is laminate so I've dug out a piece of old carpet for Bertie to practise on. Still he just lies there doing a mini pressup and getting frustrated. No real crawling here but if you let him hold himself up by your thumbs he will stay like that for ages!

Hello everyone else!

Dh is doing my head in atm, although not in the same way he used to. Might do a post in AIBU, or probably relationships as AIBU seems to bring out people who want to shout at you!!

MerryXMoss · 11/12/2007 08:28

Snoo certainly I think you're right to ask for ad's that actually, well, work!

Rosyrednosily · 11/12/2007 09:41

Kitty thank goodness it wasn't worse! The thought is making me twitch!
Kittywise definately very good name! (you are really wise- in a 'stuff and nonsense' sort of way )

Well since we are all confessing our neglect....
Hasan has scratches on his face where he crawled under a chair and into hanging wires from the broken spring and this morning he managed to get his hands on the toilet brush -great toy

Hi Dolly!

Loving all the names!

bethoo · 11/12/2007 09:52

i thought i was the only one with a baby with a death wish! Hayden falls onto his head several times a day at the moment! it happens so fast, when you see it happening it is too late! luckily he does not bruise otherwise he would be blue all over! last night bless him i was making my tea and had dogs in the kitchen with me and Hayden in living room (living room is atached to kitchen iykwim, only separated by dog/child gate) and Hayden was on his knees holding onto the dog gate peering in like a little prisoner in his babygro!
then when i was eating my tea (chicken salad) Hayden was screaming for some and trying to put his hands in it so i gave him a baby salad leaf and he ate it! was worried all night that it would be stuck in his throat so had him in with me last night just in case!
snoo,foxcub,mossy- i know he is lazy and i admit i do not know if i could handle dp having Hayden on his own as he barely copes dressing him! i remember when we were going through a rocky patch when i was pregnant and i suggested that he have Hayden every other weekend, so he has his daughter one weekend then Haydne hte next and his reply was did he not have a life as he had no spare weekends! yes and i have him 24/7 and it is not a fecking burden! parenthood is like a chore for him i think, wants all the rewards without the work put in. likes toshow him off and play the doting dad as long as he has his lie ins and sees him when it suits him etc! must stop ranting! i know i have made my own bed and now must lie in it but not for long i hope! will stop now as i do not want to come across as a big whinge!!!

Rosyrednosily · 11/12/2007 10:35

Bethoo don't be daft, you do not have to lie in the bed you made you can leave that bed and go make a new better bed!

Hasan is being a so and so at nights. He keeps waking up until I am in bed beside him. He needs to smell me to be able to sleep! So I'm trying to wrap christmas presents and I keep having to go and feed him back to sleep again!

Piffle · 11/12/2007 11:02

bthoo
I broke up with exp when prg with ds1 for similar reasons, when ds1 was 3 I left NZ to get away as he did my head in, irresponsible, unpunctual and dangerous (refusal to put ds1 in a carseat for one)

Exp came over the UK when ds1 was 4
talk about changed. they now 10 yrs on have an aeseome relationship
Now I put ds1 on a direct train to Kingx X on soem fridays and exp meets him, tell me that took a leap of faith.

So sometimes men take time. Exp has just had another baby with his lovely lady last week - and he is co sleeping and cup feeding while his missus rests aftr breech birth

They can change but sometimes you need to set them free to let them grow.

Right
DD still crook and do sick as dog, both have gone back to GP.
Finn coughing up phlegm but seems to be clearing out mild head cold.

Mossy when Finn kicks off in bed I stand next to him calm him and stroke his head and talk to him, always leave him smiling, then he settles nicely.
Hate leaving him bawling, have done it a few x out of sheer desperation though...

Some of these babies have no fear

Finn is now climbing up tables and up DD (toppling her) only matter of time before he is sporting a crack to the head methinks...

MerryXMoss · 11/12/2007 12:00

I am sitting here watching Bertie eat his pasta and bolognaise (he can't pick up spaghetti with his hands so have to make it with pasta instead). He was sitting in his walker, as the high chair is rubbish, and his feet don't yet touch the ground.

Or so I thought. He has just "walked" backwards about two metres, and is now holding out pasta to give to the dogs. Lukilly I have trained them well - they know they can only eat food that falls on the floor but not out of Bertie's tray, or his hands. However they are sitting on the floor watching him like a pair of Jackals just waiting for him to drop the food.

Just felt I had to share!

Bethoo I wouldn't worry too much about what Hayden eats in terms of choking. Bertie has salad leaves, pasta, steamed veg, oh everything just without salt in. At first he gagged a little but now he eats it and loves it.

And I believe Rosy's Hasan eats orange peel.

Piffle sounds like you've been having a really crappy time at your house with ill children and babies. I really hope you all get better and quickly.

I think you should be Kittywise too, Kitty. You are very wise, in a "don't take any crap" way!!

Rosy have you tried putting something you've worn all day in with Hasan while you get on with your evenings? I've heard it can work wonders, especially a breast pad, even if you don't leak milk.

Off to another bf support group thisavvy, no one came to this one last time as we've no money for promotion right now. Still at least there's two of us go so we can keep each other company and play with Bertie.

awayinamuppet · 11/12/2007 12:08

Thanks for kind words about ignoring theGP - it wasn't my usual one and i certainly won't see her again...

off to get a syringe from chemist as spooning banana flavour antibiotics down Samuel's throat is like wrestling an anaconda from the Amazon river...

MerryXMoss · 11/12/2007 12:09

Muppet I missed that, have just been back to read it.. How ridiculous of your GP, I suppose they have to check, but babies always get bumps and falls, it's part of learning to crawl!

awayinamuppet · 11/12/2007 12:10

mossy - would love to see a photo of that!

Piffle · 11/12/2007 12:39
