forgot to say we have had to lower hatties cot base to the lowest level as cheeky madam pulls herself up and was hanging over the side looking like she was going to dive onto the floor at the weekend

VinoRouge · 20/08/2007 12:08

Ooh I love Toystory too!!

DH is forgiven despite not bringing me a souvenir from Berlin. He did bring a tiny crocodile cuddly for Ellen which is sweet.

I've just started trying to introduce lumps to Ellen's food. She had a tiny cheese sandwich on Saturday and ate it happily. She was at my mums last night and again tonight so will be more than ready for a cuddle tomorrow morning!

Lizz - like the sound of your night out....babysitter too wahey!!!

laughalot · 20/08/2007 13:27

Thinking of Loosh today

theUrbanDryad · 20/08/2007 14:46

me too 2H - let her know we're all thinking of her. xxx

Wilkie · 20/08/2007 15:45

Hola. Am writing this on the smallest little square of internet explorer on my work laptop. Our new premises are open plan so anyone can look over my shoulder! Plus it's cold. On the upside - they have decided not to drop my salary so I am still on my old rate. yey!!!!

DH didn't get as much agreed from the bank as we had hoped for which is a bit gutting but there are other banks to approach and investors to speak to so all is not lost.

Sorry, can't do personals but just wanted to let you know that I am lurking.

Hope all has gone well today Loosh xx

he he wilkie thats like me I have it minimised and always have my cursor on other tab to quickly maximise a 'work' screen if anyone is looking , once I am set up properly in my office I am moving my screen so it doesnt face the door!! currently I am sitting atthe enquiry desk as I this has better internet access (one in my office is dial up till its upgraded!)

WEY HEY to the pay and about Mr Wilkie but like you said there are other routes

LAL I was with my boss when you sent the text about 8" etc I nealry spat my drink over her

Lizzzombie · 20/08/2007 15:52

Eah - we lowered DJ's cot bed to the bottom yesterday too! So its harder for him to fling things out of the cot now. But it does mean he is directly inline with the plug sockets on the wall. Good to hear about the lumpy food too!
Vino - cheese sarnies are a slippery slope, seriously, I am addicted to them. Doesnt matter how much I've eaten in a day, if I've not had one I am to be found stuffing one down my throat late at night. Had the weirdest dream because of a cheeseoverload last night. MN people were starwars toys. Can't remember the exact details, but LTH was a storm trooper whoose legs kept coming off....way too much cheese!
2Happy - I hope Loosh is dealing with things ok. It must be so hard to be there for other people when you have a young family too.

LaL - I wouldnt worry about your LO not doing things that others do yet. It all seems to happen so fast all of a sudden. DJ is sitting up really well now, as of 2 days ago. And the crawling is beyond a joke, I keep loosing him around the house. But, as for any food with lumps in or finger food. Not happening at all.
Is anyone else finding it hard fitting in all the feeds for their LO's?
I am having huge problems and keep missing feeds out by accident but not realising till the end of the day.
What kind of feeding routines are people doing at the moment? I am so confused. Should we be dropping a milk feed now or should they still be on 5 x 7oz plus meals too? I dont understand !

Lizzzombie · 20/08/2007 15:54

X-posts!
Wilks & EaH - hoe you dont get caught!
Wilkie - hope its all going ok. Are you back full time?

VinoRouge · 20/08/2007 18:35

Lizz - Ellen has 3x6oz bottles (10ish, 2ish and 7ish before bed) plus 3 meals. If she has weetabix or readybrek for brek she has another 3oz of milk but if she has fruit she just has 3 bottles.

Your dreams sound mad!!!

Wilkie - glad to see you are still MNing on your first day back. Bad news about DH's loan, hope it works out for you.

I'm going to lower Ellen's cot this week. She's sleeping at my mums again tonight and when I said hello on the phone earlier Mum said she got all excited and smiley

DH and I off to look at some houses later on.

eandh · 20/08/2007 18:37

Lizz - Hattie has 7oz when she wakes, then breakfast (if cereal then made with full fat cows milk), lunch (dinner and yoghurt) sometimes she'll have 4/5oz milk around 1.30ish to get her to have afternoon nap but thats slowly dropping off, dinner (&yoghurt) then 7oz milk at 6 oclock before bedtime. So 2 (sometime 3 bottl4es) and 3 meals

eandh · 20/08/2007 18:39

good luck with house viewings Vin!!

Forgot to say got Hattie cute tshirt in primark its pink tshirt with brown stitiching that says 'i am the baby of the family' its to cute and bargain at £1.50!!

VinoRouge · 20/08/2007 18:49

E&H - my dad is 'grandad' to ellen and had bought her a t-shirt saying 'that's it I'm caling grandad' - it looks cute!! All Ellen's nursery clothes are from primark. Her skirt and top (6-12 months) are a bit tight though!

eandh · 20/08/2007 19:09

cute vin ellie is a real grandads girl so I'll have to see if I can find a 3-4 one for her and maybe get hattie a nanny one (she always gets left out when grandads around!)

I did order some tshirts from next, one for ellie that say 'I am 3' (one of her birthday presents) and v.organised got a 'I am 1' ready for Hattie in January!!!!

geoRGEEweasley · 20/08/2007 19:16

Hello!
Loosh - hope today has not been traumatic. When you have the strength, bob on and say a quick hello.
Wilkie - was work ok then? Great news about the salary. I am sooo looking forward to pay day next week!
Eah - missed the post about lots of shopping - did you go shopping and get lots of bargains at the weekend?
Vino - how were the houses tonight? Is yours on the market now?
Lizz - lo has three meals and three bottles when with me. Bizarrely when she is at nursery she only has two bottles (6.30 am/pm). However, at nursery today she has eaten "golden fishes" (sound too much like turkey twizzlers but am assured they are home made), new potatoes, peas, sweetcorn, apple sponge and custard, 2 bananas, and savoury mince. How much food???!!!!
Lal - there is no sign of crawling or walking here, but she can sit up for ages now. She massively improved in sitting in no time at all.
Being kicked off the computer now by dh - something about downloading software to watch the footie match...........

laughalot · 20/08/2007 19:21

Eah the toy story thread there is a lady selling a book and tape but he has one already so would you like it ?

laughalot · 20/08/2007 19:22

When are we having a new thread

canmummy · 20/08/2007 19:22

Hi everyone

I'm feeling a bit better today as I made it to a neighbours house yesterday for an hour and ventured into town for a coffee this afternoon! Think I'm still a bit shocked over what's happened to me. Friends are just starting to find out and one called round this evening with a bunch of flowers

We had a bit of an incident this morning - I've put a child's bed rail guard thingy on the side of my bed so I can feed lo in the night without having to get up and somehow, at 6.30 she managed to fall between it and landed right on our laminate floor! I was so upset and worried but she (eventually) seemed to be fine.

Our feeding routine is:
5.30-ish breastfeed
7.30-ish breakfast
10-ish breastfeed
12-ish lunch
4-ish breastfeed
5-ish tea
7-ish breastfeed

I too am a bit worried her sudden reduction in breastfeeds - especially as we can't top her up with dairy products but she seems happy enough on this.

Wilkie · 20/08/2007 19:57

Lizz - routine in this house is 7.30am 1 1/2 weetabix, and fruit pot, 11.30am 7 cubes veg puree, custard, slice malt loaf with butter, 3.30pm 7 cubes meat puree, pot yoghurt, heinz pudding, 6.00pm 7oz bottle

Vino - working Mon/Tues/Weds

We lowered cot about 5/6 weeks ago to stop him climbing out , he is also in stage 2 carseat which he loves and is so much easier than faffing with a carry one

LAL - don't worry about L not doing stuff. It is so true about them doing stuff at different paces. J is great motility wise/food wide but my BFs LO can't move anywhere yet has teeth, has slept through since 12 weeks and tonnes of lovely hair! Think I have also heard somewhere that girls can develop slightly slower than boys (but that may be bollox).

Not much to report - I am feeling stressed and a bit down. it's just anxiety about everything with DHs job - hopefully it will work itself out.

OP posts:
Wilkie · 20/08/2007 19:57

I lied - Mon/Tues/Thurs

theUrbanDryad · 20/08/2007 20:05

well i drugged Zac to sleep for the first time this evening. he was screaming with exhaustion, bright red cheeks and pulling his ears so not sure if it's his top teeth or what. my friend told me that top teeth can be worse - anyone care to offer an opinion on that?

anyway, i feel like a crap mother for giving him medised just to get him to sleep, although Wilkie assures me i'm not

eandh · 20/08/2007 20:08

noooo mine often have medised bad mummy (normally when they are over tired and crabby)

laughalot · 20/08/2007 21:41

U aint a bad mummy

katwith3kittens · 20/08/2007 21:46

Never heard of medised; but feel I might be missing out on something here ... >>

eandh · 21/08/2007 08:33

its a childs cold medicine thing helps them sleep if they are blocked up/stuffy etc does also say on the box its for teething etc, if I give it to mine they'll normally nod off within half an hour and normally sleep all night too!! (I am in a very happy mood as they both slept without waking Hattie did 6-6 (albeit a brief awake time at 7.30pm but settled quickly) and Ellie did 7pm to 6.40am yipee plus DH off today (surprise day off he didnt tell me!) so he is taking Ellie swimming so that makes me in an even better mood
