Thought I would attempt a new thread (sorry 2Happy)...

VinoRouge · 25/07/2007 22:39

oh and lizz i have at least one piece of cake per day plus choc most days so one belgian bun is fine

Dragonhart · 26/07/2007 00:41

Wilkie, so sorry about your friends mum. Very sad and so sudden. Sorry you are feeling so low too.

Pink Hope it is not the t word and you feel better soon xxx

Canmummy, glad lo is settling into nursery. Have fun on the holiday! How worrying about the milk allergy. Hope you can stock pile enough milk for her.

Lizz, about the 4 week period. I had problems like that when I was younger and it leaves you feeling really crappy. Hope it get sorted out soon. Also I think the best remedy is 5 cakes!

2happy, Havent had Ruth weighed for a while but at 5 months, Ruth weighed 12lbs13. Luke weighed that at 3 weeks! Really hacks me off that people think he is older, they talk to him and think he should talk properly back. I feel like saying he is not two yet! Today we were in Mothercare and there was a girl looking for shoes to start school in sept and she looked younger than Luke! Feel really sorry for him as everyone expects so much. Hope ds is ok after his slapping!

EAH, I got some bargins from Tesco sale for Ruth!

LTH, there is a girl in a toddler group we go to who is always hitting the other children. Swear her mum deliberatly pretends to not see what she is doing so she doesnt have to tell her off in front of everyone. All the other mums spend their time dragging her off their los!

DH has just started a new job which is supposed to be 12 hours shift, three days a week then every 4th week and extra 4 day shift. But he has had to work part of tom (Luke's bday) and fri and sun. He invited his parents to stay, then is leaving me with them and I am really fed up about it!

The thing that really pisses me off is that my dad wanted to come this weekend too and I had to say no as PIL were staying and there was no room. If I was going to be on my own I would rather it was my dad than PIL.

Just got back from a visit with them and tbh could do with a break for a bit. Will be on my own and as we dont have a car and there is not room in theirs to go out, we will be stuck in all weekend.

RRRRREEEEEEAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLYYYY fed up about it!!!!!!!!!

On the up side, I have just made a choc cake for Luk'e bday and it looks gorgeous. Not much planned for tomorrow but we have eventually had enough of a break in the rain to put up the climbing frame so will put up some pictures after the weekend!

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 06:51

I told the little boy off but TBH I had more of a go at his mum after.

It was a "NO...you do not do that...you do not kick!" type of telling off for the boy.

His mother got my full wrath...well at least half of it, wasn't gonna let rip totally at toddler group!

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 06:53

sorry, wilkie I've read your post about 6 times now....I'm really sorry.

I lost my dad to cancer when I was 13 so I know how much of a shitty, bastard diesease that is.

Wilkie · 26/07/2007 08:08

Thanks for all the wishes (friend is a man BTW), we haven't spoken to them yet as don't want to disturb them but have sent a text (couldn't decide if appropriate but what else do you do?!?!?!).

Feeling a tad better today which is good. Going on a Lincoln Mum's meet up today at 1pm which will be really interesting to meet some more MNers.

DH - I had to laugh when I read your post to Lizz. I skim read the first part "Lizz, about the 4 cakes. I had problems like that when I was younger and it leaves you feeling really crappy." PMSLROFL.

Oh...and I wouldn't be happy about the PILs either. Can you not put them off??

LTH - little fecker!! But I do think the mother should ave been watching him if he was renowned for that!

Vino - have replied to email but great news about work and the meet up pics are fab.

Anyway, am gonna go and get ready as J has started going through the change bag and is pulling everything out, drooling on it, then chucking it on the floor.....

Aww Wilkie . Hope you're ok - not what you need when you're feeling down (as if there's ever a right time). Your poor friend.

Dragon - I hope your DH settles well into his new job, but why did he invite his parents to stay. How annoying!!

Vino - really glad all went well yesterday. Cheers for the photos. My fav was the one of you with all the tupperware - think it needs to go up on MN!

Am pleased to report that for the first night ever, we nervously didn't give Pippa her 10.30pm dream feed, and she didn't wake up in the middle of the night hungry! Hurrah! Can finally drop that then.

Am away tomorrow heading daawn saaouth for our first wedding of the summer this weekend. Have a good one whatever you all do.

2Happy · 26/07/2007 08:16

Wilkie - really sorry for you and your friend, that's awful

DH - is it Luke's bday tomorrow? Happy birthday!! Can totally understand your frustration with your dh, seems pretty unfair when you've just spent alot of time with them and he's not going to be there.

Lizzz - 4 week period? Ugh, poor you!

UD - yup, slapped him right cross the face . I didn't sy a huge amount - went and got ds1 saying "you're not playing here where people hit, hitting is wrong", wee bastard says "well he wouldn't get out of the way" and I said "that's no reason to go hitting someone". Which is pretty restrained, but a) I was a little afraid if I said too much his mum would come and beat me up (not that it looked like she was paying the slightest attention tbh), and b) ds1 is quite hitty himself. I hate it and have been trying to get him to stop for ages, but when he's frustrated, wham! Makes me very and and is the thing we fall out over the most. Admittedly the kid who hit waas 4 or 5 so really should have known better, and if he's a hitter his mum should be watching like a hawk at places like that. This all makes me sound very calm...I was really steamed up at the time!!

Wilkie - I haven't weaned ds2 yet because he's not 6m yet and hasn't shown any signs of really wanting anything. Plus, as I say, I am a proud, stupid, arrogant arse and when I heard "less than 1% of mums exclusively bfeed to 6m" I immediately reckoned I could be one of the less than 1% . It wasn't a huge part of it, but there's no point hanging out for it, it's not like he's going to wake up next thursday ready for solids when he wasn't the day before. I hope he eats as well as J though - that's some appetite!

Lizzzombie · 26/07/2007 08:23

Morning!
Are you lot trying to make me fatter than I am already? 5 cakes a day??? I'd look like a Belgian Bun!
Though...am having a bake-off today (flapjack & fairycakes)as DP's whole family are descending on us at the weekend (LTH - we are off to the Hungry Monk for dinner on Saturday...how posh am I?! - have you ever been).
Dragon - photo of choc cake please. Maybe if I just look at cake it will have the same effect as stuffing my face with it.
Vino - Dr said for me to finish my pill packet and lay off it for a while. Am on noriday has anyone else had problems with this make?

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 08:37

The hungry monk?

thats in one of the little narrow laned vllages isn't it??

I remeber seeing the sign somewhere....

eandh · 26/07/2007 08:44

Lizz I was on marvelon then something else and now changed to cilest which is ok

DH Hope Luke has a fab birthday tomorrow can we see pic of cake please???

Wilkie glad you are felling better and have a lovely day

2happy/lth ellie can be a 'hitty' child but if we go to soft play I practically stalk her or have an eye on her at all times to make sure she doesnt do it and if she does we leave end of story, actually we are off to softplay this morning!!!

RGee whereabouts down south are you coming (anywhere near Kent )

Vin glad meeting went well and Ellen happy at nursery

Was going to post my long rant about my work but Wilkie got the brunt of it last night on msn and its a bit petty but went to team meeting last night and meant to be a meal after (we won money as a branch for team night out) they booked a restuarant that I really do not like anything (indian) and I did say last week. Rushed around to get to meeting on time then had to do the minutes, got volunteered to sort xmas meal as usual (not doin it as I do it every year and someone always moans) and then they hadnt changed the restaurant and said to me 'have a korma thats not spicey' ffs I do not like indian, i do not like being told what to order so as soon as meeting finished I got my stuff and came home didnt even say bye to anyone, felt like ordering a takeaway for myself and giving them the billas I worked towards the target that won us the money

Wilkie · 26/07/2007 08:59

Lizz - I bleed at odd times on the pill but not continously for 4 weeks. Hence why, along with my other depression issue - I don't take it. Hope you get sorted soon - can't be nice but hey, a great excuse not to have sex!!

EAH - that post was a very restrained rant. Got a bit scared last night

Bless my parents, DH and I have got to finish painting coving (yes it is still not finished), strip the room of furniture and pull up carpet tonight so M&D have just offered to come over to help. God love 'em.

Have uploaded Vino 'Tupperware Obsessive' Rouge onto my profile.

TYpical - am meant to be going on this meet up at 1pm and J has just fallen asleep after a morning of refusing to nap and screaming. I daren't wake him up so I am either gonna be seriously late or miss it totally. Not impressed

Plus is it weeing it down here.

Just took fat man to get weighed and he was 18lb 1oz. Not long till Stage 2 carseat - he is almost too big for his current one.

OP posts:
LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 12:33

when do they go into the next carseat?

ds4 is over 18lb so will we need a new one soon?
i thought it was 13 kgs or something

theUrbanDryad · 26/07/2007 12:41

i've just been researching this - stage 2 is for 9 - 18kg, which is 19.8416lbs - 39.6832lbs. think we will be going for one of these - it can be used as a stage 0 car seat too, so we can use it for number 2!!

btw - has anyone thought about names for their next db?

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 12:45

Are you PG UD?

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 12:47

Or thinking of being PG??

our carseat does go upto 13kgs so we won't be needing one yet.

I won't be able to carry it with him in it by then but I struggle to now so thats no problem.

Wilkie · 26/07/2007 12:49

Mia - girl
Isaac/Zac/Will - boy

Yes, my carseat needs changing at 9kg

OP posts:
LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 12:56

maybe thats why mine si so heavy, it goes up to 13kgs.

I didn't even realise they made them for differnet weight in the 1st stage ones...

eandh · 26/07/2007 14:39

thats spooky as just bought my delivery of new 2nd stage car seat indoors, logged on and you are talking about them

May phone Boots as there delivery people just left the box behind my side gate which is unlocked so anyone could have walked off with it (may well say they did and get another one free)!!!! Hatties 1 st stage goes up to 9kg and although shes nots near the weight shes looking scrunched but will perservere as long as we can.

theUrbanDryad · 26/07/2007 14:46

oooh EAH - say someone nicked it then i can have the spare one!

i'm not pg - we're thinking of trying for no2 when Z is about 2 or so, but we'll see how it goes. we were talking about boy's names and we can't agree on a boy's name! think we used up our favourite names with Zac!!

Lizzzombie · 26/07/2007 15:33

my name for number 2 is: Jose (pronounced Hosay - cant do accents on this keyboard)

as in "No way JOSE"
!!!

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 15:51

is my carseat really unusual then?
seeing as it goes up to 13kg?

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 15:54

(no idea about the names, we've used every possblie name that suits us)

theUrbanDryad · 26/07/2007 15:58

i really like Xavier for a boy, but it's a bit similar to Zachary. i think i'd still have to use it though - Zac and Xav has a certain ring to it!!

you surely aren't planning more LTH??

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 26/07/2007 16:01

nope...
