well we had a rubbish night here - the medised made Zac drop off like a charm and I though WOOHOO a full night's sleep for me! oh, how wrong was i? He was awake every 3 hours, then at half 2 refused to go back to sleep for an hour, so I gave another 2ml of Medised (gave 4ml in the first dose) and he went back down again, then woke at 6. grr. i feel like i'm at my wits' end with the sleeping thing.

sorry to be such a whingebag - i know there are worse things but i'm so tired!!

Lizzzombie · 21/08/2007 12:39

hello everyone!
UD - sorry to hear you had another bad night, hope you are napping now, that is why you are not on msn for a change!
I didnt know that ear pulling was a sign of teething. I thought he had sore ears...it all makes sense now!
Wilkie - what sized cubes are you using? DJ has 2 annabel karmel sized cubes of veg with half a pot of baby food for lunch and can barely manage that. I can't imagine him ever eating 7 anabel karmel cubes!
I looked up the milk thing and apparently 6-9 month olds should be getting 400 ml-ish (14oz) of milk a day + other sources of dairy so I am not too worried now. I just am having huge problems getting a feeding routine in place. I have been so structured with milk feeds and its been easy to work out what I am doing, and now everything is in dissarray again!
Canmummy - you poor thing! You really have had a bad time of it. I hope you feel better soon, thank goodness LO was ok too! They do bounce quite well dont they?! I am waiting for my LO to realise I wont always be there to catch him when he dives off the sofa!

Rgee - are they fattening up your Lo for xmas? I wish I could eat as much as that. DP said that LO had his "Mothers thighs" the other night. Nice. x

Hi all.
Lizz we took a while to get F into a routine once he started eating 3 meals a day too, but eventually it just happened. Now we do similar to some of the others with 3 bottles (about 7oz morning and evening and 5-6oz mid-afternoon) and breakfast at about 8:30, lunch about 12 and tea about 5:30. Freddie's eating really well now and had really got the hang of chewing at last so hardly ever gags/chokes now so finger foods are much more relaxing. Still no teeth to chew with though!!!

UD Any more teeth appeared this morning after that horrible night??

I've started putting F to bed a bit later the last couple of weeks. He used to always go down about 7 and wake about 6ish but we've put bedtime back abit and the last week he's slept 8 til 8

Better go... F's whinging... try and pop back for the rest of the personals in a bit

2Happy · 21/08/2007 14:45

UD I know how you feel. ds2 was in bed early last night, he hadn't slept much for his first time at CMs. I toddled off to bed at 9, could not get to sleep (thinking about Loosh), then he woke for a feed at 10. Never mind, thinks I , at least we'll both drop off now. An hour later, he's still scuttling around whinging. Finally fell asleep, only to wake every hour until 3am, gave him another feed thinking well NOW he'll go to sleep. My arse, it was nearly 5. And I had to get up at 6.30 for getting everyone up for work. And now both kids are asleep, I'd love to nap but need to get supper cooked. Except I'm here MNing...

Orgered the book laughalot, spent an hour asking whi her best 3 friends were and getting different answers each time!!!

I think I am going to order some placemats from here for ellie and hattie as stocking fillers, think ellie will have pink fairy and hattie white/blue one from here

Wilkie · 21/08/2007 18:31

Had a look at that website EAH. I have a lot of children 1year-2years to buy for so think a lot of it is a little too old. Any suggestions of other websites I can look at??

Work busy today and J got on well at CM. They are such a bunch of miseries at our company though - it is as though I have never left, no one has said how nice it is to have me back or asked how J is. They are a bunch of freaks. My BF went back a few weeks ago and found the same (but do you remember how they didn't bother doing anything when we left either?). Is that weird? I have never worked anywhere like it. And then today I went to the loo, when I had done realised there wasn't much loo roll left so I went to ask for some more to 'stock up'. I got the third degree as to why I wanted more toilet roll (WTF???) and then was very grudgingly given one! FUcking weirdies.

The business thing not going great either. Feels like they are messing us about and keep moving the goalposts about what they want. We are getting to the stage where we are considering walking away

God - what a horrible, moany post. Might come back later if I am in a better mood!

(*) a sore arse
{!} a swishy arse
(o) an arse that's been
around
(x) kiss my arse
(X) leave my arse alone

geoRGEEweasley · 21/08/2007 20:30

Hi E&H! You bored?

eandh · 22/08/2007 07:17

I was bored last night and am bored again this morning, DH got up for work at 4.30 and turned all the lights on so I was wide awake, Hattie seems to think 5.00 is a fantastic time to poo every morning and wakes up, couldnt get her back to sleep so she started crying which woke ellie up at 5.40 (who said to hattie 'hattie I wanted to stay asleep and you woke me up you naughty baby go and stand in the naughty corner' pmsl at that!) so by 7 o clcok we are all washed/dressed/hair done etc and just debating whether to do breakfast.

I really need to go to town today but have swapped my days having nephew so have him today and really dont think I can face town with 3 under 3!!

Wilkie · 22/08/2007 07:59

Sorry for disappearing abruptly last night EAH! J wouldn't settle until 7.30pm and then I decided to have a good old cry when DH came home

I know it is the right decision for us to walk away from the business but I was so excited about it. I am just gutted. Hey ho - better to walk away now than later. Hope things are still going well for you Jodie!

Think J and I are going to go into town later although the weather looks shite again. Where did our summer go?????

OP posts:
eandh · 22/08/2007 08:13

Wilkie - I assumed J was playing up, I logged off fairly early. I think that maybe that is the best decision like you say better to walk away whilst theres no money involved - if its meant to be it will happen!

JodieG1 · 22/08/2007 08:19

lal - I wouldn't worry as the all develop at different rates but they all end up the same

vino - ds2 loves sandwiches How did the house viewings go?

Wilkie - good news about the pay. Sorry to hear about the business though I've put my plans on hold for a few weeks as my dad is ill, I must be du some good luck soon surely.

lizz - Ethan has his meals and sometimes a snack mid afternoon as he gets so hungry. He feeds probably every few hours during the day but has definitel dropped one or even two daytime milk feeds, he does still feed a lot at night though, 4-5 times. He was almost constantly attached to me last night but I don't feel too bad as I must have napped through some hehe. I think it's because he has his third tooth coming through and it comforted him.

canmummy - hope she's ok after her fall, happened with Ethan, well he rolled off the bed but had to had an x-ray at a&e as he hit his head on a metal part of the wardrobe and was being sick and not himself afterwards.

UD - hope Zac is feeling better, has his tooth come through yet?

Seeing as Christmas was mentioned has anyone thought what they're getting for their dc's this year? I was thinking of getting some lovely wooden toys for them all as I'm fed up of loads of plastic stuff that ends up broken. I've seen some nice shape sorters and other baby toys for Ethan and a wooden hob with pots and pans and food for dd/ds1, they'd both play with it so not sure who to give it to just yet. There's supposd to be a toy shortage at Christmas what with all the recalls as well.

Lizzzombie · 22/08/2007 08:23

Morning!
Well, my house looks like a chinese laundry. I cant handle the rain, it means I cant use my washing line, and I have washing to do. I feel like I am not fulfilling my role as Stepford Stay and Home Mother. Bleurgh. Wish we had room for a tumble dryer.

Is it too early for a drink?

EaH - you forgot this one:
( ! ) = fat arse (me!)

Lizzzombie · 22/08/2007 08:33

ps - thanks for everyone letting me know their LOs eating schedules. I am not so worried about the lack of milk thing now. Though he was a little so and so yesterday, major Mr Grumpy face so I gave up on food and just gave him milk. Although as I am an evil mother I did trick him into eating apricot fromage frais with brocilli and pea and baked bean mush all mixed up. He realised about half way through that it wasnt right...and I got it spat out in my face!
Wilkie - your work colleagues sound strange. what do you do again?
Jodie - I was thinking of asking for ELC vouchers for xmas & birthday presents so I can buy something big for LO from everyone. We have a ridiculous amount of toys here and my living room looks like a playgroup most days. Cant believe I've not broken an ankle yet!
Vino - send us links of the houses you are looking at! I am feeling nosey!

Lizzzombie · 22/08/2007 09:09

I've had some awful news.
A very very good friend of mine has just lost her baby girl, she was due to give birth literally in less than 2 weeks, but her baby just stopped breathing.
Its beyond tragic, and although friends of mine have had m/c before, they have never been this far along. I have no idea what to say to her.
Flowers and a card seem so trite. I'm probably the last person she wants to hear from as well (with a small baby myself).
Does anyone have any advice? I'm really not sure what I can say or do. x

JodieG1 · 22/08/2007 09:12

Liz that's awful, your poor poor friend I've had miscarriages but I don't think it compares to losing a baby full term. Was always a fear of mine. Might be best to start a thread asking for advice in other section? Might be more people that could advise you. My heart goes out to them.

Lizzzombie · 22/08/2007 09:29

Thanks Jodie. I am hesitant to start a new thread in case it looks like I am being 'vocarious' if you know what I mean? Will have a look through the mc sections in case there is any advice.
Is there anything in particular which helped you, or which you really were thankful for after your mc/s? x

theUrbanDryad · 22/08/2007 10:22

Lizz - i'm so sorry for your friend. i can't even begin to imagine what she must be going through. at the moment she probably feels so numb, she can't believe it's happening to her. that's certainly how i felt after my mc. what helped me was being able to go away for a few days with dh and get away from everyone. tha probably sounds horrible but it's all i wanted to do! i don't know if it would be possible but maybe you could write a card and suggest it? but then that sounds bad too. i don't know, sorry. maybe just a little note to say you are here if she needs you, and don't be surprised if you don't hear anything back. i felt an enormous responsibility to let people know after my mc and i wish i had just let them find out on their own. if you don't hear anything back after a few weeks give her a call. it's so awful when something like this happens. xxx

eandh · 22/08/2007 10:25

this happened to a friend of a friend the baby died at 38+3, obviously she had to give birth(induced), register the birth and the death and arrange the funeral plus they had a 3 year old son to look after/explain to.

I have only met this lady at friends dd birthday party, but friend told me that she said it was the cards/emails/phone calls that got her through it plus for her practical help with her ds, i think someone did an online shop as obviously last thing on her mind. The hospital were apparently great did front/hand prints photos etc and she had great back up/counserller (sp)

eandh · 22/08/2007 10:26

sorry meant foot/hand print
